I recently took clothes for consignment. When I called to ask the status of my consignment, I was told some items were selected for sale and I should pick up those clothes that were not selected. I went to pick up my clothes and inquired about the selected clothes. I was told one piece had already been sold. When I looked at the list of my selected clothes, none of the items on the list were mine! They were someone else's clothes. I insisted I did not want any money for a sold item that wasn't mine. Before Christmas I took in a really cute, like new, Michael Kors top that was black with gold threads. It's too big for me so I thought I'd consign it, but the girl who spoke to me told me, "oh no we don't take Michael Kors", as if that brand was beneath them! She was rude. That's all it takes to lose a long time customer. I've bought many things there over the years including spending around $500 bucks on Eileen Fisher sweaters, dresses, etc. I know brands. Saw cute clothes on a rack outside the shop (Lilly), so I stepped in to look for more. There were several employees, and none bothered to smile and say hi. This seems to be in line with other reviews. It's unfortunate, because I found several items that I would have purchased (Lululemon, Madewell). I hope that this unfriendly service works out for them during hard times like this. I'm also saddened by this as I would really like to support a local business. I have both bought and sold at Revolve in Belmont. I have loved going there and poking around however, the past few times I have been the sales associates have been extrememly unfriendly and rude. They NEVER say hello, greet you ask you if they can help. Not only that but thier prices seemed to be through the roof - $75.00 for a free people dress that had a stain?? Not cool. The one in Wincester wasn't much better... two teenage girls working on their phone barely a glance up when I walked in with MY teenage daughter, no greeting nothing - so much so that my 17 year old said "mom, those girls were terrible at their job". Nice setup and organization, lovely displays. But I found the goods here quite pricey for what they were. Prices were well above what I expect to find in a consignment shop. Especially for basic brands. Even the red dot 50% rack items weren't a deal. There are better options. I don't think the staff paid any attention at all to us, not even to greet us or ask if we had any questions. I do prefer to be left alone, but in a little shop, it's nice to be greeted. I started this review with a 2 star rating but gave it the extra star because there was nothing truly "wrong" with the store, I just think it's pricey for what it is. read more

I don't have much experience with consignment shops, but with the current state of the economy (and the fact that I got laid off last week), I know I will be frequenting them more often! I have a list of 5 to visit in the area. Hence, my first visit to Revolve. I was pleasantly surprised. It was well organized according to size and they had some really nice jewelry. The shop is run by a friendly lady. I bought a beautiful sundress, it was almost new, for $36. Wore it the next day to a bridal shower and got lots of compliments. Will be back again soon! The only problem was parking. I almost left the area because I couldn't find a space. read more

The stuff is good quality for the most part but it's mostly geared towards women who like Lily Pulitzer and Eileen Fisher, not a lot of younger pieces or jewelry. The older staff members seem a little judgmental too. I was greeted immediately by a sweet young lady who was very helpful but only got an "up-and-down" look from the older women who wouldn't even say hello to me. Wow. This was probably the BEST shopping experience I have ever had. I found an amazing Stella McCartney jacket on their sale rack. It was so, so amazing. The shoe selection was fabulous too! Wow! This chain of second hand stores has THE WORST customer services. The employees are dismissive, rude, and barely say hello when you walk in. They are far from friendly and act downright stuck up, as if they aren't selling secondhand cast offs. When there with my sister, who lost a toe in a bad accident, wanted to consign her shoes that she had an emotional attachment to. No humanity was shown for my sister. The employee rifled through her shoes and treated what we had (all leather, Prada, Lanvin, Blahnik, Italian heels and boots, etc) like it was garbage. She didn't need to take what we had but she could have been much nicer in her approach and less inconvenienced. Don't bother spending your time or money at any of these locations. I have been a customer of theirs for a few years. I usually shop at the Lexington location and occasionally at the Winchester and Belmont locations. I have never consigned so I can't speak to that experience. First of all what happened to Lexington on Sundays? Is Lexington closed on Sundays? They used to be open 7 days a week. I wanted to get some outfits for fall so I decided to go to Belmont last week since they have more items to choose from and also because Lexington wasn't open on Sunday. I had a horrible experience. I was treated with such disrespect. I have experienced the same disrespect in Lexington by the manager but was surprised at how mean and belittling they were this time. My friends and I have been shopping at Revolve for years. A few of my friends had told me that they have had bad experiences consigning. They explained that the employees were rude, dismissive and didn't seem to care about most of the designer items they tried to consign, but also how they didn't seem to care about them as consignors and as people. I wouldn't be writing a review like this if I didn't think it was important to share my experience. I want to spare people the embarrassment and disrespect my friends and I went through. I feel that if you aren't willing to spend a lot of money you're worthless to them. It's a horrible feeling. I want to emphasize that I have not consigned here. Buyer beware at the Newton Centre store. They have some good stuff, but examine it all carefully for snags, stains, and holes. I usually do, and have left many great pieces in the store because I've spotted flaws that would make an item unwearable. Since it's the staff's job to vet the clothing, and you'd expect them to have very practiced eyes, I feel like they are trying to slip problems past the buyer. Recently I missed a significant hole in a sweater sleeve which I noticed only after I had it home. I brought it back with slim hopes of an actual return, but thought I might be offered at least some amount of store credit as a goodwill gesture. The young employee was ready with her corporate script about how they were not responsible; she had obviously been trained to be nothing but defensive, and to hold the line. It's not a consumer-friendly place--they really don't care. read more

I've been consigning at Revolve since they first opened in Waverly Square, but this is my favorite location to both shop and sell. This place is a great. I've been able to sell some of my designer digs that I wouldn't wear again and have always had a positive experience. This is a designer consignment store loaded with my favorites: Tory Burch, Lily Pulitzer, Diane von Furstenberg, Prada, Ralph Lauren, and Burberry. There's even lots of great designer vintage finds. You're not going to find things from the Gap or most other mall brands here... except for the good ones like Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, and J.Crew. Oh, and their handbag selection is AWESOME! I have had really crappy experiences consigning in other Boston area stores. Specifically, stores have "lost" expensive merchandise, and refused to compensate or even apologize for their mistakes. Never had such an issue here. The owner constantly has a presence in all of her stores, and it is easy to see that she takes her business very seriously. She's always very nice, and goes through almost all of the consignment drop-offs herself. Her assessment of the items in her stores is fair. She has a good eye and does not accept items with holes or anything that looks like it has too much wear and tear. I've picked up a few items with my generous store credit and also received cash for my consignments. I've always had smooth transactions. It's super convenient that you don't need an appointment to drop off items, and sometimes they're able to go through your things in a few minutes for you. Check out one of the Revolve locations and you'll likely snag a great find at an awesome price. read more

My mother and I stumbled on this place in (Cushing Square) following a rather disappointing lunch next door. Whereas I had just experienced merely OK food and poor service, at Revolve we discovered excellent merchandise and equally excellent service, which made the hour or so we were in Belmont much more pleasant. The woman in the store was very helpful and sweet without being pushy or cloying, as sometimes happens in small stores. The clothing selection was fabulous and organized by color and size and very reasonably priced. Also, Revolve does not have that musty smell that many consignment stores have. I bought a lovely sweater for $10 on the discounted "Charity rack", from which a portion of each sale is donated. The clothes on that rack were equally impressive, mostly jeans and a few pretty blouses that might be out of style by next summer but would be great to wear right now. It was nice to see that this rack still offered quality items. In fact, I think there's a not single item in the store that's that wouldn't be a "find" for someone. They also sell shoes, jewelry, and scarves. If I lived in Belmont, I'd be in here once a week. I am looking forward to going to the Winchester location since it's closer to me. read more

I agree! I sold them a Chloe bag that was not even on the shelves yet, and it retailed for $2,300! Guess what I got-$450!!! Bullshit!! They are rude and cheap! Cheap in a bad way, meaning no deals or sales that benefit the seller! Keep up with advancing of your store size, though! I will unfortunately never consign here again. I had dropped off two items retailing at over $600.00 combined, one dress brand new with tags and all I made off of these items was $37.00. This shows me the girls pricing the items are not educated in designer brands and what they retail for. read more

I have become a big consign shopper and this is by far my favorite consignment shop! They have so many high end brands, in good quality, and GOOD prices! The store it self is very clean and well organized. (I have been to other consignment stores where it is really just too crowded, unorganized,sloppy, and dirty). The staff are always friendly and welcoming. They don't try to "sell you" on anything or pressure you to buy more. I highly recommend this place! read more

Belmont Store has gone WAY downhill. A lot of really tired old stuff, mostly 3rd rate worst of eileen fisher.

The clothing here is for an older age range. Please add a little more hip and happening styles. That being said, if you're looking for something serious or for an older sister, it's perfect. read more
