It boiled down to Roof Doctors and one other company very quickly. The other company was just as patient answering my questions as Hugh, just as thorough in their answers (me, I'm a tad compulsive and I had a *lot* of questions), but for me the difference was that when I got busy and didn't get back to them, Hugh took the initiative to get back with me. Not in a pushy salesman way at all, but rather like someone I could depend on to carry the ball. And that held true throughout the process. I have a small house, a little over 1200 sf, and they had the roof on in two days. I had an aluminum tile roof and Hugh checked with me and, with my agreement, arranged for a recycler to collect the aluminum. After the holidays were over, Hugh followed up with me and installed my choice of venting. (I was considering solar attic fans but he clued me in that they don't have a rep for moving much air (I finally found the number: a mere 250 cfm -- think a really cheap range hood) and on top of that, the fact that the motors in these electric roof fans tend to last only 6 to 7 yrs. I was really glad for the enlightenment, and could see no point in adding to my maintenance chores for so little return on investment, so I went with the old style turbine.) Everything was great up until the point I told him his quote was much higher than the 4 other vendors I had contacted prior to him. Once i told him we were going with another vendor he kind of hounded with me questions about the other quotes. Which OK, if that's all it was I wouldn't have bothered writing this review. He then proceeded to tell me what i need to make sure to check for in a roofing company because if the prices were lower than his they must be an uninsured company with no English speaking person on the job. Yeah.... What???? I know, you can't believe it either right? PS Joe I speak Spanish pretty well as do a considerable amount of people in Texas. Then when I expressed offense at his insinuation he knew better than I do how to search for my own vendors he told me to be offended all I want he is going to advocate for his customers. I did not ask for an advocate sir I asked for a bid and since I did not accept your bid I am not your customer. The end. I realize I am a woman doing men's business and that confuses people but this behavior is just plain unacceptable.
