Sweet! We got parking RIGHT OUT FRONT!! And it just kept getting better and better. Walking in, we waited only through one other person. They took a credit card (much better than trying to find cash for a single day). And they let us buy two drinks at once. One for now and one for later. Love it when a place does that. Anyway..I tried the two roasts they had available that day. One was from Portland. Heart I think. And Bows and Arrows. Both were good. I was more fond of the Bows and Arrows. A little less tart. They have other things if you like pour overs and different brewed coffees. Me, not so much. I like my coffee espresso style with good milk. As many people have said in other reviews. The place was hoppin, and we were lucky to find a spot for the three of us at the communal table. We also picked up some cool kitch for friends back home. Probably the best coffee shop in the world. I know that's bold, so just go find out for yourself. Their pour over is consistently 11/10 and their drip basically tastes like pour over. Their coffee is delicious, but I thought the caliber was on par with what I could readily find in San Francisco. What's unique about this place was their coffee tasting, but unfortunately I didn't have time to try it. Randomly stumbled in here while I was meandering Gastown. Even from the outside, you can tell Revolver has a chill coffee shop vibe! I tried the espresso and perused some of the coffee table books they have. I really excited to go here when I was researching what to do in Vancouver. I happened to stay in the hostel right across the street and had no idea. Revolver Coffee was neat because of both, the ambiance and the coffee. A small group of us headed here first thing on a Monday morning. Fortunately, there was not a long line. Once I set foot in the store, I immediately liked what I saw. Revolver has a more industrial feel/vibe to it, and there are small booths on the right for customers to linger and enjoy their coffee/snacks. Since the line moved quickly, I didn't really get to see if there were a lot of food options. I just took a quick look at the snacks available - they looked delicious! But we only ordered coffee during our visit. Here's what we got: Latte: One of our group members ordered the latte, and she was pleased with her choice. She didn't want something super strong and was happy this drink came with milk (she usually puts a lot of cream in her coffee). She enjoyed her latte, saying it was delicious, and appreciated that it was warm, but not burning hot, upon receiving her order. Cappuccino: Since we were going to be in the car for a while, I didn't want to order the option with the most milk ... so I got a cappuccino. I really liked my drink, though, and the flavor was robust. I was able to order mine with almond milk, but given that it wasn't regular milk, the baristas still did a great job with the latte art. My cappuccino was hot but not piping hot (as in too hot to drink), so I was glad I could start sipping it as soon as I received my order. I ordered the smallest size, and it was a good thing I did - it had just enough caffeine to get me started on the day; ordering the next size up would have been too hard for me to finish. Espresso Brew Flight: One of our group members opted for this flight; he's definitely a coffee connoisseur and loved that this option was available. It featured one espresso served three ways - straight, with milk and with water. This was the most photogenic option on the menu (except hard to take a picture, since the board with the different cups is a long rectangle), and it was neat to see the same espresso in three different forms! I recommend this for any coffee fiend (especially if you prefer espresso, straight-up). Coffee (daily brew): There was a good selection of featured coffee flavors for the day, and one of our group members just got a small coffee and chose from the selection. I can't remember what he ordered, but he recommends seeing what is available for that day - especially if something is seasonal. Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookie: If I got something to eat from here, this would be it. The peanut butter cookies looked divine because they were sandwich cookies, with two smaller, chunky peanut butter cookies on the outside and some type of thick filling. There were other jam and sandwich cookies available, but this caught my eye immediately because I love peanut butter. read more

I finally made it on my day off. I don't understand why everyone raves about this place. I mean it just ok, and the beans are not that bad but not great. Although I like organic beans the best for health reasons I still wanted to try this coffee everyone has been raving about. I quickly stopped by Revolver in Gastown. The staffs were friendly and service a bit slow. May be in order to get high quality brewed or specialized coffee would take more time. My friend and I are coffee snobs. I value a good espresso or cold brew and she loves a good pour over. The options in Vancouver are endless and hit or miss. But by perusing a few online reviews, we settled upon Revolver due to photos, walking distance, and proximity. Revolver is a very hipster coffee shop. It literally has a "Coffee" sign out front. They serve espresso flights which is pretty impressive. I ordered the cold brew with room so that I could had sugar and cream. I like that they had simple syrup available. My friend grabbed one of the Keep cups for sale and asked for cold brew too. I really enjoyed mine after adding my preferred condiments. The cold brew was smooth and delectable. We also shared one of the Powerballs as a snack. It was peanut butter, coconut, and dates but I am now obsessed with finding a recipe to make them. The coffee shop has an additional space where you could work or study. There are literary classics for sale too if you want to read Fitzgerald or Dickens. They have free WiFi and the tables are communal. The point is for you to come and go but you can stay if you like. The vibe was very hipster but we enjoyed the coffee. read more

Don't bother, not worth it, plus they're not nice to children. They have OK but not amazing coffee, and a very limited supply of catered-out pastries. Worse, though, was the overall policy. I stopped in here with my kids on a day out in the city while on vacation. They were tired, and needed a rest. We bought two pastries and some coffee, and I whipped out a deck of cards to keep them occupied. We were having a lovely, pleasant time but after a short while, when their front room started to fill up a bit, someone came over to say they suddenly have a no games policy, and we had to stop. There were numerous adults sitting all over on their laptops or otherwise lingering for ages, and plenty of open seats in their back room. But they specifically zoomed in on us and bust out this no games policy on a couple of school-aged kids in order to make us clear out. Sure seems like they don't like children, and decided to target us. My kids were disappointed, but we had to leave. There are tons of other coffee shops literally less than a minute from this one. A charming coffee shop by Cambie and Hastings that serve superb coffee! I first came here on a Sunday only to realize they are closed Sundays - oops! I really wanted to try their coffee so I came back (on a Saturday!) and it was worth the trip. Coffee was really good (they make them with those Hario brewers)! Seating is limited as their space is quite small. They also serve Dipped Doughnuts (delicious local donuts!), in addition to their pastries. Visiting Vancouver with family, we were walking after brunch and noticed a coffee shop that was right at the beginning of Gastown. We decided to give it a try. This area is filled with coffee shops but this one caught our attention because of its focus on fresh pour over coffee done right in front of your eyes. It is a modern almost European atmosphere cafe with two connected rooms for seating options. They also have a selection of pastry cookies, if you want something to munch on with your coffee. You can even buy a chemex and other coffee supplies here too. I got a classic latte (comes in one size, 12oz). It was very smooth and tasty. However is was a bit foamy but otherwise I loved it! I found this coffee location after a quick survey on Yelp. I saw the place has a really good rating and many reviews. So I took the chance and walked to the location after an hour of exploring aimlessly around downtown. When I got the this place, I immediately found it to be busy and packed. The coffee shop was very traditional and Authentic. I love the background and all the social vibe inside. The shop was split into half, where one side is ordering and a row of table, and the other side was a long table more accommodating to studying. The lady who took my order was very kind to help me with what I wanted. I was hoping for some flavor lattes but turned out they didn't have it. But I went with their regular hot latte anyways to warm me up in the cold weather. When I got my latte, the creamy bitter taste sure filled my satisfaction. I really enjoyed! Being a traveler coming to such a popular coffee shop that is so foreign to me, this place didn't disappoint me! Since I walked there, I really don't know much about the parking. The closest thing I could get was their cold brew, so I went with that. My bf got this interesting beverage with espresso and seltzer water. Sounded intriguing, but was not that great. In fact, I don't think I could have finished my coffee if that were my drink. You can smell the coffee brewing from outside - and it tastes as good as the aroma implies. Revolver was actually our destination and my friend and I were whisking away in the rain one step too quickly, and we passed this little café without knowing. It was the strong aroma that made us bust a U-turn. I ordered a latte and on that particular day, they were using Anchored Dartmouth beans - no idea what type of beans those are, but I like. I'm a regular Nespresso user, so this was certainly a treat for my unconditioned taste buds. Would be 5 stars had it not been for the service. I'm far from being a coffee connoisseur, so I asked if the carafe they were using was called a revolver - you know, like the name of the café, Revolver? The butch lady making my latte gave me a swift look of discontent and very formally corrected me, describing her widget device as Chemex glass. Sheesh, my bad Rosie O'Donnell. What a beautiful space! They have excellent little nooks for getting some work done. We popped open our laptops to work and were pleased to notice that they have free WiFi. A+ spot for churning away at some work! The oat milk latte was delicious. Perfectly creamy and nutty - fantastic coffee. We also tried a couple of their pastries/muffins and both were so yummy! There are better coffee houses around this area of town with better atmospheres (personal choice) So do you want to line up for a latté or cap? And with louder musac?
