Overdue review here! Had a Brazilian and underarm sugaring done by Erin. Service was quick, easy, comfortable, and pretty much painless. However, if you've never had a Brazilian before and/or your hair is long enough to start a forest fire, I would suggest you do a wax instead of sugaring. The sugaring may be too painful for you at first. Repeat pricing is also very reasonable compared to the average cost in sf. Location is clean and setting up appointments is easy. Just make sure to arrive on time. Parking is not very easy as it's all street parking around the location, so give yourself time to park. read more

I've had MANY spray tans in my day. NEVER have I had one so awful like I did at rewaxation. When the woman was done applying the tan I let her know I wasn't happy because i was dripping and streaky. See photos. She knew I was unhappy, and when I went to pay she has the nerve to ask if I'd like to check in on yelp to get $10 off. I am now 24hrs after the application and my skin is orange and streaky. Now I'm left to scrub it off before a big event with my girlfriends tonight in San Diego. So to recap... Wasted $45, and now have to scrub off my tan to look presentable at my event. I would not recommend. read more

Got my first bikini wax AND spray tan ever here. I was super nervous for both but everyone here from the front desk ladies to the gals that sprayed and waxed me were very kind and considerate. They all made me feel right at home and happily answered every question and concern I had. I also LOVE the vibe of the place. It's so cozy, warm, and inviting. Definitely doesn't hurt that they offer a little bit of wine ;) (especially before a waxing session!) I don't have a lot of experience with tanning or waxing, but the prices seem pretty reasonable for the amount of time each treatment lasted. I got a LOT of compliments on my spray tan. As for the wax, it actually lasted much much longer than I expected. And the girl who waxed me was very gentle. I've had bad experiences with my eyebrows so was very nervous for my first bikini, but she was super chill and did a great job working quickly but being gentle and thorough. I've been to rewaxation about 4 or 5 times now and have always had great customer service from either the receptionist and/or the aesthetician. The very first time I went, I got a complimentary glass (cup) of wine and, though the waxer wasn't the most friendly, I felt taken care of and she did a great job. After the first person, I found Imani and I've been seeing her ever since! She's so funny and warm and loves Beyoncé and does a great job. I don't think they do the wine thing anymore but I def recommend going to rewaxation for all your waxing needs! Also, you get a reward stamp for every $10 you pay cash and get x amount of discount (dont remember how much) when you reach $150. Annnnd, they have lower prices if you come back for a touch-up within 6 weeks. read more

Absolutely love this place! Only a couple blocks walk from home so I can easily shower after my appointment! I was paired with Alex, and honestly, this is the best Brazilian wax I've ever gotten! I have piercings in this area, and I am aware that it makes it challenging to get every hair in some spots. But Alex got all the parts that were important and worked with the challenges. Ripping hair out is never fun (especially a brazilian), but there are places that can give you the best experience possible. And I think I've found my place in SF. I've converted to sugaring ever since I first tried it about 2 years ago back at a studio in Walnut Creek. I'm so fortunately prone to ingrown hairs and irritation that I had to switch up my waxing routine. Ladies, if you're like me and have those problems (and more), switch to sugaring! All natural, less irritation, and less ingrowns. I was searching for a reputable place in SF that did sugaring. The trek from SF to Walnut Creek every 4-5 weeks was not cool. Found this place and I've been happy! I had Kelly and like others have mentioned, she's such a calm presence. And she's QUICK. Talk about efficiency. She knows what she's doing and tweezes the hair that she can't get out. She will switch to hard wax for certain small places - this was new to me but she explained that it's easier for her to pull the hair. Didn't mind as long as it wasn't in places I knew was prone to ingrowns. All in all, this place is awesome. I've been to both locations and actually much prefer the NOPA location. I am so incredibly impressed with the quality and overall awesomeness of the waxing I received from Janessa this morning. First, she is adorable, sweet and knowledgeable about the perils of hair removal. She was able to empathize with me in my endless journey to find the solution to my hairy Indian girl body, and that, in itself, is rare. If you've never had to deal with hair removal beyond shaving your legs once a week, you just don't get it (and I kind of hate you). Now her skill level is amazing, she was efficient and accurate and didn't have to repeat any spots. She gave me tons of post-wax tips and also took the time to show me the different kind of waxes and what they were best for. Its was as painless as it could gave been, considering she was ripping deeply lodged hair away from my body--but I didn't tear up once. And she kept me chatting, thereby distracting me. I had my third visit to reWaxation for a Brazilian sugar, and this time, I was lucky to have been paired with Dani! I've seen other aestheticians here, and while they've all been great, I've found Dani's technique to be the least painful for me (everyone's body is different!) If you also experience day-of-appointment jitters from anticipating the pain, here are some steps you can consider taking: - avoid alcohol / caffeine before your appointment - take ibuprofen ~30 - 60 mins before your appointment - apply a warm damp towel before your appointment to help open your pores - breathe out (your pain tolerance is at its highest at the end of your breath) - don't wait too long before appointments: this is by far the biggest factor for me! - book your appointment with Dani: she'll get you out with as little pain as possible, I promise :) Overall, I am thankful every month for reWaxation. It's provided me with a super convenient, affordable way to get sugared regularly without breaking the bank. I really want to like this place because it's in my neighborhood but I've had mixed experiences each time going in. First time I broke out from the Estheticians repeatedly​ re-waxing in the same area. The second time was a good experience but not great. And my most recent time I was 5 minutes late to my appointment (literally) and the gal at the front desk was incredibly passive-aggressive​ and rude which​ was a total turn off. Basically punishing me for being​ late and telling me I can hang out and 'see' if my Estheticians can service me but I needed to be here 5 minutes ago. Then super nice to the 'regulars' as if they had been friends for years. I'm not interested in being in the 'girls club', I'm interested in good quality work and customer service​.
