I love buying from local stores and shops in Fullerton there is so much history and so many places to check out. Black Hole should be considered a local institution for heavy punk, new wave, Brit pop and alternative music lovers. When I was looking for the obscure bands that the radio and Hollywood would not play or give love to I could always count on Black Hole records to fill that void of artistic need for the different and not the mundane. Bill is very knowledgeable when it comes to music and you can easily spend hours talking to him about music. He also has a band called naughty women check them out. It beats waiting for albums to come in the mail from Amazon crime.

In their glass case, they currently have a Bruce Lee book in their collector's section that I really want, but you know my son's gotta eat and we can eat books. The service has and consistently is highly knowledgeable, patient, and welcoming to not just us, but to all who walk in. I collect mostly Transformers figures/comics and it's kinda hard for me to find a shop that gives me a little bit of everything about my favorite franchise. But a while back they had a HUGE selection of IDW Transformers back issues. I went crazy and got a bunch of them whenever I stopped by to pick up the current Skybound run. All the staff is super nice and genuinely super kind! I've had no bad experiences here and they're all super knowledgeable about the things I'm interested in buying. They also provide really good suggestions for me which is great. Overall a great comic book store and nice figure options!

My first impression is that they are still in the process of organizing and defining their shop. They do have a large selection of vinyl records. They do have some CDs and cassettes. They also carry branded apparel. The shop seems to have derived from car culture (appropriate for a business in Whittier Blvd.) so there are some cool collectors items for Low Riders and car club folks. The owner and family are super nice and helpful. They are new so I will consider that they are a work in progress. But as vinyl collector I found that their selection was limited. They did carry some new titles and current sealed reissues. They featured a great selection of Punk, Rock-A-Billy, Psycho-Billy, and Hip Hop. Most used records were not in the greatest shape. And the records that were in decent shape were pricey. Still, there were some interesting finds and worth digging. I will return to see their progress and will update my review.

We chopped it up for a bit, and he even gave me a free Moonshine Records shirt because it was my birthday- didn't have to, but it meant a lot. Now let's talk vinyl... no matter what you're into, you'll find something. The Latin section is fire, the 80s selection is solid, and there's a perfect mix of new and old. Everything is clean, organized, and easy to dig through. I walked out with some amazing finds at great prices and had to seriously stop myself from buying more.
