I was intrigued by this bakery on Sawtelle, walked by it many times. It's an old place, with a mix of ethnic merchandise (Persian, Middle-Eastern) which I like to try and generic baked goods you find everywhere, a bit for everyone. I went for baklava-s which were decent, but I had better. You get everything packaged in plastic see thru boxes to go. Not a place to linger around or eat at! Street parking, tad difficult in the are. Bit pricey, service just OK, a bit of a tired atmosphere all around!

It's a small bakery shop located in sawtelle, and they sell variety of Persian style bakeries and pastries. The lady working here is super friendly and patient with questions. Most of their stuff is weighted and costs $18 per pound, and it's great for mix and match.

I Spend 15$ for two cream Puffs. Not even that good and taste old. Food has no labels and no expiration date. Lady won't tell me The price of Item and will Just let You know once food is handed to you. A total Ripoff!!!!! They are taking advantage of their consumers. This place doesn't issue receipts too. This place Should be shut down. Don't even bother coming here. Too many red flags about this business...

Drove by this shop last weekend and decided to try it. There were no food labels on what is what. There were two people ahead of me and all ordered the same thing. I decided to order the same thing too and tried it. It was delicious! I would come back just for the two items.

There are bugs in the kitchen and they are extremely rude. I would not recommend for anyone. There are so many better bakery's in sawtelle.

Cream puffs from Rex are unmatchable. The cream is so fresh and real tasting unlike other places that taste nondairy. Cash only.

I've tried venturing out to try their other stuff, and it's all delicious, but I keep coming back for the mango and pistachio. I like how each pastry you purchase you also get a free macaron. She took me here. The place was very clean and tidy with a lot of different types of sweet treats. I was there for one thing only. I did ask the gal working if they were made that day and she said yes. We ordered a raspberry, an orange, a coffee bean and the popular mango. This was my 2nd time trying these and our hopes were high BUT the raspberry was just awful the filling was strange and it had just raspberry jam inside,I dint eat it. The mango was okay so we shared that. The coffee bean was just awful as well so we didn't finish that either. The orange was the best of the group but overall just a disappointing experience once again because these are not cheap. I'm starting to think I might just have to give up my journey to find these although there are some places in Vegas that look promising. I don't think Reno has any bakeries that make these. They look so beautiful but the taste is a let down.

There were endless selection of salt bread and different flavoured buns which all looked delicious. As we were browsing and deciding, the lady at the counter was kind enough to offer us a sample of the butter rice cake. The butter tteok tasted pretty good on the spot so we bought a pack of 5 back home along with a hot and spicy salt bread and corn soboro. The butter rice cakes were already cold and hard when we got home, the inside was dense and chewy in a bad way. I didn't want them to go to waste so I tried reheating them in the over for a few minutes. It was warm but the texture never recovered, everything just got more dense and hard. The hot and spicy salt bread looked like a winner, but when we bit into it, the bread was just crunchy and overly buttery without a lot of flavour. The inside did not have the soft pillowy texture you'd expect from salt bread. The filling was a budget hot dog and some corn mixed with mayo. We cut the bread in half and my boyfriend said his piece had way too much mayo and mine barely had any. I grabbed the corn soboro thinking it would be delicious since it was corn season but was the most disappointed by it. I reheated the bread again to get the cookie top to crisp up. The soboro top didn't have a lot of crunch or flavour, it was just a layer of sweetness with no texture. The corn cream filling was not good, the corn was dehydrated and had no flavour at all. It honestly tasted a bit like canned corn that's over baked, I ended up scooping it out because the bread was better without it. Maybe it's better to go earlier when the baked goods are fresh and eat it there instead of taking it home.

From the moment I walked in, every member of the staff was so kind, welcoming, and attentive. I visited during Restaurant Week and had an incredible meal starting with the black truffle arancini, followed by the carbonara (bucatini pasta, pancetta, peas, Grana Padano - perfection), and finishing with the opera cake which I really love and had not had in a really long time (it was rich and delicious). Every bite was phenomenal. I also couldn't resist ordering the squash blossoms off the menu (cooked tempura style), and they did not disappoint. On top of the restaurant experience, their famous cafe and bakery counter is packed with the most gorgeous pastries and sweets. The entire place is a vibe, and I already can't wait to go back!

However, when we got back to the hotel, we were able to re-cook the sandwich and it turned out fine. I would still give this restaurant chance, especially since their baguettes and pastries are delicious. Disappointing. Sadly not what it used to be. Bottega Louis WAS our favorite go to restaurant when we visit LA. Unfortunately it has gone downhill. We came here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We ordered the Louis Salad with blue crab and Croque Madame. While the salad was as delicious as I remembered, the Croque Madame was completely undercooked and the bread was soggy. We returned the sandwich as asked them to grill it longer. It took so long to recook that we had to leave and they gave it to us in a togo box without even an apology. Even the bread that they serve with the meal has gone downhill. We ended up buying a baguette. At least the baguettes are still decent. But overall a disappointing lunch.
