    Vegetarian kachapuri

My all time favorite breakfast place. I have been here so many times. The staff working there know me. Their food is outstanding! My wife and I have been here so many times when we are in the area. Kachapuri is a must have. I use to get the regular one and now I get the vegetarian one. Both are amazing! I highly recommend and will always return

Persian bakery with excellent service and a beautiful, tranquil interior of - you guessed it - pink orchids! I love the orange-flavored Bundt cake with walnuts and raisins. Though not a raisin fan, there aren't many. The cake is fresh, moist and not overly sweet. Got my picky mom one for Mother's Day and she loved it. It's 15, and the smaller version is loaf shaped. The round flat bread spinach, onion and mushroom pizza, $3, was delicious and light. The Cappuccino cake lacked flavor but had a good chocolate shell. Other single cake servings and pastries by the pound are available. Also saw challah behind the counter. They sell packages of nuts though prices aren't marked. They also serve sandwiches, salads and soups. There's lots of metered street parking. One day I need to dine inside surrounded by the beautiful, warm flowers.

Knocked the cake out of the park again! We ordered a cake for my daughter and wow, did Pink Orchid deliver! Taste was great, presentation was wow! Thank you for the effort and for making our cake dreams come true!

    Nice place to be!

I love this place and have my meetings with friends here when I am in the neighborhood. Vast selection of food, beverages and pastries with fair prices. Employees are nice and professional. I have never been disappointed here!

My friend took me here to try a variety of Persian sweets! We also had the khachapuri which was absolutely delicious and flavorful. There was plenty of searing inside. I really enjoyed their carrot juice which was freshly squeezed with a scoop of ice cream! Parking is street parking and meters were free when we went on Sunday! I highly recommend giving this place a try.

A year ago, I bought a Napoleon pastry from this place -- it was terrible, even though I specifically asked for something fresh. Today, since I didn't have time, I made the same mistake again and went back there to buy dessert. The cappuccino cake looked good, so I picked it -- but honestly, I just wasted both my time and money. I have no idea how old that cake was; the inside was completely dry, the sponge texture crumbled apart, and the outer cream was a total disaster. Awful. The worst quality cream ever. I'm never going back there again. As for the service , the young lady working there was very polite and kind, but the woman who seemed to be the owner didn't allow her to take my order first. She told her to go clean a table instead, and I had to stand at the counter for about 10 minutes waiting just to get my order.

Absolutely wonderful lively bakery with beautiful treats displayed under the counter. I wanted to try everything. Ultimately we ordered some baklava, a cream puff, two fruit tarts, a Dubai chocolate cake and the woman helping us gave us a free Dubai chocolate donut. The baklava was amazing. Definitely my favorite. The raspberry tart and Dubai chocolate donut were also great. I can't wait to go back and try more delicious Persian desserts.

The Pink Orchid has the friendliest staff and a beautiful display of cakes and pastries. With so much to choose from, I'll just have to make another visit here soon. I ordered the strawberry napoleon which was light and creamy. My brother-in-law had the tres leches and florentine. The cake was moist and sweet. A perfect balance of cake and cream. My sister had the biscuit cake which was super cute, but its flavor was just okay. We'll be exploring their other desserts next time! :)

I can't thank this bakery enough for making my bridal shower so sweet and unforgettable! I ordered all of the desserts from here, and not only were they absolutely stunning to look at, but the taste was out of this world. Everyone at my shower was OBSESSED, literally nothing was left by the end of the party because my guests couldn't stop going back for more. I worked directly with Armine, who was so kind, attentive, and wonderful to work with. And when I went to the bakery in person, I was so impressed, the entire team was incredibly professional, welcoming, and truly cared about every detail. Their desserts didn't just taste amazing, they truly added to the beauty and joy of the celebration. This bakery has officially become my go-to for every future event. They made my memories even sweeter, and I'll forever be grateful

Came here because it was the closest place to get coffee this morning. I was not disappointed. Plus, some beautiful cakes for sale.

Absolute gem in the Westwood area with great breakfast and very nice owners. Really enjoyed the ambience, has a very homie and feel good atmosphere.

Wonderful Experience! Zarina was so helpful explaining the different desserts and where they come from and even what they pair well with. This sweet little cafe is clean cozy with pink orchids painted on the walls. I can't wait to come back.

Service was impeccable. The host and servers were attentive to us to see if everything was okay. Food was delicious and all that came out from the kitchen. It seemed intimidating when I saw chili crisp in a lot of dishes on the menu. However, that wasn't the case when we received the dishes. Each dish had other ingredients that married well with the chili crisp, allowing it to have a small hint of it there without overpowering the dish.

I have returned! For brunch this time…read more FLAVOR (4.5/5): 1. SMOKED SALMON MOUSSE AND CRUMPETS: One of my favorite dishes that we ordered. Great sampler plate - the pickled onions and jalapeños added that kick to the mousse. I have no idea how they make the crumpets, but I could have eaten 5 of those. The tomatoes on top of the mousse were delightful. 2. POTATO CREPE: Our server said this was one of their most popular dishes and it did not disappoint. It honors the original Banh Xeo while offering a fun "brunch" twist with the crispy potato shell. Admittedly a little oily and messy, but I can get down. 3. HOUSE MAPLE SAUSAGE: We knew we needed a little bit more in our order but didn't want to commit to a full dish, so that's where the sausage came into play. Definitely should try this with the crumpet and pickled veggies. 4. OOEY GOOEY CINNABON: The cinnabon was unfortunately a bust - it honestly just reminded me of cinnabon, but with no unique twist or flair that I could note. I would skip this and maybe try the pb&j sourdough pancakes instead. SERVICE (5/5): Service was good! AMBIENCE (5/5): Fun brunch spot with options for outdoor seating. The interior is nicely decorated and feels very open. PARKING (3/5): Street parking - managed to snag something on a Sunday. TAKEAWAYS: I've had two experiences at Girl & the Goat so far - one for dinner and one for brunch - and I think I preferred the brunch experience by far. Enough so that I'm considering revisiting their dinner menu to see if they've changed or I've changed... who knows?

It remains a unique addition to the neighborhood, as well as a good place to grab some interesting dishes. Since the opening of this particular business, the Zinc chain has opened in a few other locations. Those locations are much newer in not only their establishment but their design. This is not to say that this is still not an interesting, well-designed business, but, with time, it has become a little bit rundown. I hate to say it, but that is the truth. This location could really use an update and perhaps a deep cleaning. I was, in fact, kind of surprised at the condition of this business, for example, on the way towards their restrooms. From my opinion, it needs an clean up and an update. Also, the litter that surrounded some of the outdoor tables where I was sitting at my most recent visit was very surprising. This is just something to keep in mind if you're coming here for your first visit. In terms of what they offer for food, though it has evolved a bit over the years, they still have a great, heath-based menu, with some very interesting choices. For all of you vegetarians and vegans out there, you will, for sure, be able to find some tasty food to eat. Once upon a time, this restaurant was impacted with tons and tons of people. It was constantly full with people either going to the bakery and/or sitting down for table service. Shortly past their opening each day, there would be a line of people waiting for service. This seems to have changed, however. Meaning, if you're looking for an interesting place to eat, with some good dishes, at the far Southeast side of DTLA, near the lofts district, and you want a place without a long wait to get a table and/or your food, this may still be your place to go.

WORDS TO DESCRIBE SAMPA: Elevated dining, speakeasy vibes, quality food and service PARKING: Parking can be difficult since it is close to the Arts District, you may want to park in the Public Parking Lot areas FOOD: Lechon fried rice: This dish was exquisite! I loved all of the colors in the rice, which include the fried pork belly, the golden egg yolks, and the pigments of the atchara (atchara: pickled vegetables such as papaya, scallions, and carrots). When I took my first bite of the fried rice, the blend of all of them together was scrumptious! Yes order this dish! 5/5 STEAKSILOG: I would order just the steak alone! The skirt steak was savory, juicy, and mouthwatering! Yummy! 4.5/5 Kare Kare Tamales: This dish was delicious! The oxtail was tender and the peanut sauce paired well with the savoriness. 4/5 CHICKEN AND PANDAN WAFFLE: This plate was their take on chicken and waffles. The pandan flavor was there, but I wish the waffle was thick, instead it had a crispy thin cookie like texture. 3.5/5 DRINKS: Bartender has skills! Beauty in the booze! I appreciated the artistry in creating our beverages. I loved the details of the flowers and layers of color. Cheers! All in all I had a great time eating at Sampa! I loved the food and service! But seating is still comfortable and not stuffy / pretentious. The food is truly above average even amongst restaurants of similar caliber. Some stand outs from the appetizers: the biscuits, served warm, so soft and buttery with the perfect spreads. The albacore spread. Their salads are actually great (this is coming from me, usually a salad hater.) The potato appetizers. Now from the entrees: I was pretty shocked by the eggs benedict popover and the bacon steak. Namely because these are generally pretty straightforward brunch dishes, but they were just so much better here than other places I've had them. I don't know what the secret is for the benedict popover - is it something they put in the benedict sauce? The way the ingredients come together? Whatever it is, it's perfect. For the bacon steak - it cut like butter, and wasn't too salty, sweet, or chewy / thick. So good! The service has also been great here each time I've come, both in a large party (10+ people) and in a small group. The food somehow still comes out when you expect it to and the staff is friendly and helpful. Reservations recommended especially for big groups!
