Friendly, hospitable folks covered all the bases. I expected a bit more of a Caribbean vibe to greet me at the door. The decor was sparse -- a few more plants could have enlivened the place with some tropical charm. Expecting to be greeted by Bob, Bunny and Yellow Man... could all have been made better with a frosty Red Stripe and a plate of peas & rice. When we walked in a very nice smell was filling the place, establishment looks clean and very pleasant. Our waiter was extremely polite and friendly. The menu was small but that doesn't take away from the food, the food was AMAZZING. 10/10 everything we ordered was phenomenal, great seasonings on everything. We ordered a bit of everything as pictured and the peach cobbler looked different than what I'm accustomed to but 10/10. Even the drinks were different than accustomed to but also 10/10. My partner ordered the koolaid party drink- 10/10, my daughter ordered the sweet tea, it had a hint of cinnamon in there and the waiter brought her a sample, she loved it. 8.5/10. We were very excited to have a new restaurant in town, especially a soul food restaurant. The staff were very helpful and nice. So much on the menu looked good. It was hard to choose with all the mouth watering choices. I got a " Brorrito" and wife got buffalo chicken smothered over French fries. The dinning room was pretty good sized and a nice set up. The service was excellent to say the least. In fact every one there bent over backwards to make sure you were happy. We really enjoy this place ! We have tried Chicken and Waffle, Briscuit Sandwich with Mac n Cheese , Loaded Fries, Peach Cobbler and Bananna Pudding. All were about average serving size, well executed, looked good, and tasted very good ! Still have a few menu items we want to try !Facility looks very well maintained ! The pay to play concept with a beeper is a bit unusual, obviously eleminates walk out loss, is how they roll, and is not really a distraction, just unusual in this area. Disappointed. I have been wanting to go here since they opened and was looking forward to it and I have to admit I was not impressed. The waitress welcoming people with the red hair was very kind and pleasant and explained the way they do things, though I have to admit it's a strange system to sit then get up and order. The woman running the cash register, however, is not friendly at all, and you can tell she likes things done a certain way. No smiles, no warmth. The most disappointing thing was the food. I ordered the fried chicken thighs and the mac & cheese. Seems like basic staples that should be easy to make. Although they say they don't serve fast food, they may as well because my food was definitely not fresh and it was not warm. The chicken thighs were lukewarm and limp and really had no flavor at all. The mac & cheese was just plain gross. Gobs of cheese, but no creaminess served lukewarm. I'm not ready to write them off yet, I'll give them one more try. They were courteous and their hospitality was exactly what you'd expect at a southern style restaurant. My husband had the pork ribs with mac n cheese and collard greens. Listen, I make some pretty damn good collards so when I tell you theirs were good. I know what I'm talking about. The Mac n cheese was great, it could've been warmer but still great! Ribs were tasty, well cooked slathered in their sweet n spicy magical sauce. I had the Super Bro-ritto.. trust me when I tell you to get this! It had fried chicken, their Caribbean rice, black beans, collard greens, AND their in house made aioli! That aioli was so good, I could drink it. Their Parmesan parsley fries were perfectly crisp and flavorful. We tried their sweet tea which had a hint of lemon and clove, truly a must try, which they will let you sample before you order it! See, GREAT customer service.. I told you! Thanks for bringing a great new restaurant to Landrum. I had the chopped pork meal with Parsley and Parmesan fries and 7 Cheese Baked Mac. I chose the Magical sauce (mixed 1/2 mild and 1/2 spicy). Finished up with some great Banana Pudding. BBQ and fries were excellent. The Mac just wasn't my thing. Not bad, but just not my preference. My wife had the BBQ sandwich with the Mac. Nothing left on her plate at all. Would maybe make a recommendation that everyone gets directed to the counter to order, and then take a seat. Being seated and then directed to the counter to order just felt a little strange to us. Definitely not a deal breaker, but just a little cumbersome. Didn't care for the use of the pagers (they are loud), but that's just their system, so again, no big deal. Not beating them up, but just trying to give an honest review. The owner stopped by the table to check on how the visit went. Everyone was super friendly and service was great! Give them a try. You will be glad you did! read more

Everything was excellent. The restaurant is spotless. Every person working was warm and hospitable. The food was fresh a homemade. Mac and cheese was among the best I've had. Fried chicken was flavorful, juicy and made with caring hands. Greens had chunks of smoked turkey. Husband said the chopped bbq brisket was the best. They were not really busy the evening we were there. It took over 40 minute to get our food. It wasn't cooked to order so all they had to do was plate it. During the long wait, I drank my soft drink and was told it is $1 for a refill. When we finally got our food, it was ok but when I ordered ribs, I expected more than 2.
