Initially rhino roofing was helpful to work with and seemingly listened to all my concerns. But the person that comes out to look at the roof for a quote and doing the work are different people, which made getting my concerns listened to harder to get across. They came out a few times to reapply elastomeric coating since the first time looked like a dodgy effort in my opinion. Was supposed to get a cleaning, but just looked like the unwanted debris was left on top and visible cracks. Was suppose to be elastomeric coating and looks nothing like how the manufacture advises. Few months pass and my problem was never fixed after trusting rhino roofing. I don't see the value when I'm just better off doing the job myself or hiring a more reliable source. read more

For months I've been trying to work with Rhino Roofing, and from what I could tell they were mutually interested in working with me. After their initial estimate, they sent their itemized bid over fairly quickly - about a week later. When I saw the bid, I was pretty happy with it, but asked if there was any wiggle room on the cost. The person I spoke with said he would talk to his manager and see, then a couple weeks later sent over a revised bid with a discount of $200 for which I was very grateful. A day or so later I approved the bid, and then received a confirmation saying that Rhino Roofing will reach out to me to finalize scheduling and payment details. A month passes and I have been trying to get them to follow up all the while. Finally, they get back to me saying that the price they quoted and sent over to me was too low. Somehow it's my fault that the expert tabulated the costs, cleared it with their manager, but it came up short for their business needs. They did not try to renegotiate, say they would honor their original bid, etc. The deal was just cancelled without notifying me. On Yelp, their manager Daniel even writes that "theres no such thing as a 'small job'", but here I am left in the cold. I've wasted time and risked my roof becoming more damaged while I've waited. AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ANY COST. Complete scam. I had a very small leak in my roof that needed fixing and here was my experience with Rhino. Overpriced - Got the same job quoted at $200 by several other roofers that are more reputable and trustworthy. Rhino charged me $850 originally. They did agree to lower the price to $550 which I was okay with had they done a good job. Professionalism - Now is when it gets good. Guy that came out clearly just wanted a quick buck and not to actually fix the problem. Instead of identifying the issue and caulking the area needed, he quite literally created an issue that didn't exist. Drilled a giant hole in my roof and installed a pipe COMPLETELY unnecessarily. So now not only is my roof damaged but the leak wasn't fixed at all. The roof of course leaked again in the same spot on the next heavy rainfall and they told me it would take an entire month to get someone out to fix it. Work guarantee/warranty - Doesn't exist. Tried to have them inspect our roof twice. The first time they "came", they said they "mistakenly went to the wrong address" (an address that doesn't exist). They said they'd come the next day and days later I'm still waiting on them to show up. I am glad that they can't figure out how to show up on time to the correct address, because after we had scheduled our appointment, I happened to see one of their huge highlighter yellow trucks driving westbound on Sahara, aggressively passing people on the shoulder for absolutely no reason. I want to thank Rhino Roofing for always being so wonderful and professional. A few months back we had a bad leak and they came out right away. The guys took pictures and fixed everything for us, we were very pleased. They even checked the entire roof and replaced and secured some old tiles. It's been several months now and we thought maybe we heard some noises up there from the wind so we called them back just to be sure everything was still in place. Danny came out right away and double checked that area, again taking pictures for me. Thank goodness all was still great and they gave us piece of mind that the roof work was still fantastic! We had our roof inspected when we originally purchased our home. Since we had a number of repairs on our list, this one got away from us. I called the company around the holidays on December 28th and spoke with Haley. I specifically asked what the price would be to have the same work done since it was a little over a year after our inspection and receipt of the estimate. She said that she spoke to Juan on her team and he said that since it was primarily labor, they could honor the same cost. I also asked about something that was recommended to be included in the estimate and she said that it should have been. She added that new language in the estimate and sent it to me directly instead of to my agent, who received the original one. I told her that I needed to coordinate pigeon removal services first and that I would be in touch as soon as those were finalized since they would need to coordinate that work with their work. I called their office yesterday and was told to accept the estimate online via an email button and someone would be in touch with me to schedule. Surprisingly, I just got a message from my agent saying that this company was calling them to follow up and told them that the work had gone up in price. I then called the office and spoke with the same person Haley, who said that she had nothing to do with the pricing and that I needed to speak with Juan (who I never met or spoke with) and received the information from her. Why would she have sent me an updated estimate with the same price if she was not told it was ok to do so or was authorized to do so? She then hung up on me when I said it did not make sense. I tried calling back and she said I should speak to Juan directly (I never spoke to him - she did and conveyed what he said.) The owner Daniel Lupe Barron claims on this site that their business "values honesty and integrity and treats your home or business as if it were our own." He must really hate his family to treat customers like this. When looking to see whether "Juan" might have been the owner, I looked up this company's license on the Nevada State Contractor Board website and saw Daniel's name and other information. The website shows their "Disciplinary Action During Last 5 Years." After reading this, I realized that they did me a favor by hanging up on me so I can find another company. read more

This company doesn't even deserve 1 star. Please don't waste your time & money with this company. They replaced our roof early this year and we "thought" they did a great job...come rainy season and we discovered multiple leak spots in one of our bedrooms. Called them back since it was less than 6 months since they replaced our roof...no answer. Not sure if the number provided on the website or wherever they advertise is working or not, but we've called that number for 2 weeks straight everyday at random times of the day and not a single person answered, we've even left multiple voicemails, with no call backs on their behalf. Finally we had to show up to their office in person and tell them our issue...they come to our home and patch wherever the leak was at. Cool...now we just need the drywall fixed on the ceiling. So they have a 3rd party company they go through to do that for them. I don't even know the name of this company nor can I even call Rhino Roofing to obtain the information since they never answer their phones...the 3rd party drywall company shows up to our home randomly on a Friday late afternoon while we're not home (how convenient). There was no appointment set up with us at all so we had no idea they were going to our home, otherwise we'd stay home and wait for them to show up, had there been an appointment. Our front door camera captures them so we speak to them from the camera and said we're currently not home but we're about 20 minutes away. They said they would come back at 6pm that same day. So we agreed. I tried to give them our phone number but they refused and said they'd see us later that day. Well, 6pm shows up and they are a no show. We're still in this dilemma with the company of trying to get our home fixed. Again, please don't waste your valuable time & money on this company, unless you have money & time to waste, then go for it. Extremely unprofessional and disorganized. If you want to get ahold of them you're gonna have to show up to their office in person to talk to someone, because good luck calling them! Rhino wants to sell you a maintenance contract, and is not interested in what may be a one time or infrequent repair relationship. 1) I was professionally greeted by their call center rep, but I had to wait 10 days for an estimator. I was clear I needed a broken tile replaced, and a general inspection. 2) Estimator was professional, called when expected. He explained how they work, and that's when I got the upsell for a $750 maintenance contract. I can't attest to quality of service delivery, but I can state with certainty their slow response to provide an estimate and shocking upsell did not earn them a new customer today. read more

He thoughtfully inspected the area inside the house and the roof area above and was able to give me some verbal estimates on the work almost immediately. Kevin walked me through all of my options, answered all of my questions and I never felt rushed or like I was being upsold on repairs I didn't need. Though I cannot speak to the work as I've not had the repair done yet, the warranty period for the repair was for several years and the price per square (100 sq ft) was very competitive and I couldn't have been happier. A few years back I had a leak into my living room, so I called Rhino Roofing. They misdiagnosed the problem and fixed the underlayment on one section of my roof. Then, that same spot was leaking, as well as a new spot in the garage, so they said it was probably the entire underlayment area needed to be fixed. So, after redoing my entire underlayment, my roof leaked again the SAME spot during the first rain! I was livid (and $9k+ into my leak fix). I had my roof being inspected for solar and they told me they used dried up sealant around the pipes, and that water was coming in through those areas, as the sealant was very cracked and dry (mind you this should of just been redone!). I had them come back and reseal the pipes, and finally my roof stopped leaking. Was that the main issue all along? Also, why was a solar tech able to diagnose this better than a roofing company...! Additionally, when they left my yard after the job was finished, they never cleaned up all the nails and trash. I had to call and have another person come clean it up. I also had tiles fall off that weren't nailed down properly after the first rain event, that I had to call and have them come fix/replace. Even now, 6 months later, tiles are already starting to fall/lean. Not a great job, and I wish I had gone elsewhere.. I would not recommend them as a premier roofing company. read more

Unfortunately we used these guys to make a repair on our commercial roof. They were highly rated for a roofing company which is why we used them. After they had completed the repairs we went up on the roof a few months later to do swamp cooler maintenance and noticed that they had not built up the roof to where the water would drain from the scupper. We called them up and after first suggesting the structure itself was sagging without looking at anything (oddly enough just the 15'X15' area that they had worked on) they agree to come out and take a look. The guy that came out admitted that the roof was below the scupper (the point where it should slope to so that water can drain) and said that if he didn't bid the roof to install the proper way so that water would actually drain, he was not responsible for repairing it the right way. Did you get that? The Rhino Rep said that if he didn't bid the roof to install the proper way so that water would actually drain, he was not responsible for repairing it the right way. After telling them we were going to go through the contractors board the company agreed to remedy it in their off season. They are now no longer returning our calls so we have been forced to file a complaint with the board earlier today. Not only is the roofing installed improperly but they should have pulled permits (according to Nevada Statute 22.02.190(t)). As they did replace more than 64 Sq Ft of sheathing. I'd suggest going with another roofing company as these guys either don't know what they are doing, had a bad day and are attempting to pass the buck or just don't give a crap. But to say that "I would have done it the right way if I had bid it that way" speaks more to character than competency. Estimate was comparable, but Kevin Hughes came to my home right away to give me an in-person estimate instead of using Google Earth like a few others did. 2. Kevin came up with a solution for the roof valley pitch in my roof (which is a problem for shingle roofing). He and the company owners even came up with a better roofing plan then the other roofers. 3. Every part of the process was easily explained such as shingle differences . 4. Recently Rhino Roofing came out to repair a roof leak, which they did a great job repairing, about a week later I dicovered an additional leak on vent stack that was not there prior. Daniel B came out and investigated the additonal leak and explained where the leak was coming from and it could have potentially been made accidently during the prior roof repair, though this could have been a long drawn out ordeal, Daniel turned a potential complicated sitiation, into a vauled experience. He took it upon himself to make a small repair in order to alleviate having to go back and forth with the company and did so at no charge. Because of this small gesture, I will definitely hire Rhino Roofing if I have any future roofing issues. It is employees like Daniel B. that can make or break a company during these trying times.
