We had an excellent experience with J&Y Roofing last week. We discovered a leak coming through a…read moreskylight during recent rains. After their initial inspection and consultation (and us rejecting a second contractor's consultation), J&Y immediately returned and secured the area with a sturdy, well-fastened tarp before the next round of rains came. (I worked in Building Inspection for 20 years and know that no one watches rain forecasts more than a roofing company.) The tarp held up great during the next 3 or so days of hard, steady rain and wind. The tarp didn't budge at all. Once the weather cleared, they immediately came back and started work. They removed the deteriorated underlayment, re-sealed all cracked areas, reinforced and sealed the flashing, and made sure that all areas were properly protected. Josue showed us several clear before & after photos of all this, and he walked us through each photo explaining what caused the leak(s) and how everything was repaired. It was obvious that they take pride in doing the job the right way. Their repair work was meticulous and thorough. Cleanup was also handled great --no stray nails, debris, or material left behind on the side or back of the house. Overall, their professionalism, craftsmanship, and communication were outstanding. The J&Y team communicated the time line from ordering the supplies to completing the work, and kept me informed. The job ended up taking about 6 days in total. The team was working (approx) 7 to 5 each day, and they kept the surrounding area clean. Roof was finished on time and it looks great. Came with a 10 year warranty. 10/10 would recommend.
