From my experience with dentists over the years, they always strike me as car mechanics, you go in with one problem, and when you open your mouth, they will find 15 other things that need immediate repair. That's not to say that additional issues do not exist; however, it has been my experience that the overall issue that brought you there in the first place gets lost in the mix. I have never been to a dentist that I found trustworthy. Thankfully, I found Rhodes Ranch Dental. I was impressed with Dr. L. He is a very straightforward dentist that isn't looking to unnecessarily up charge you for zero reason. If he says something needs to be addressed, he takes the time to explain what it is, why it needs immediate attention, and he will take the time to answer any questions that you may have. He is sincere, and as honest as the day is long. My dental issues go deeper than a few cavities and a laser cleaning. Dr. L. has done some pretty significant work...root canal, crown, extraction, bridge, etc., and I am completely satisfied with his work. His staff is wonderful as well. I am a cash patient, and a discount is given; however, even with a discount, major dental issues cost, they just do. Unlike most dentists, his office will work with you. Jenny is the absolute best. They charged me 40 dollars for calling to cancel my appointment because it wasn't 24 hours in advance and I informed them that someone around me had caught Covid and with this information they told me to bad without even trying to find a resolution. I went here dating back to 2017 and they were a lot more more willing and able . I guess I'm disappointed in how much they have fell from prior standards to have to swindle money out of their clients . Most people don't even make 20 / hr which I'm sure is true with most of their staff and they expect someone to pay 2 half times the normal rate of pay for a cancellation which resulted in them not having to work . Any practice with a shred of financial intelligence would be able to create a reasonable cancellation fee especially when they did nothing to earn that money even 10 maybe 20 dollars is more sound than 40 . Charging as if I made the visit is baffling. Honestly probably wouldn't have even been this upset if the lady in the front office I spoke to would have even been a little nicer on the phone . It's not hard to understand people will be upset about certain things when they call . You have to be the voice of reason not the enemy on the front lines. I've been coming to Rhodes Ranch Dental since it opened in 2003. I love it here and refer everyone to Dr. Loveland. He's always staffed his office with the best people. Anytime you go in or call everyone is friendly! For these reviews stating that they "upsell"... that couldn't be further from the truth. I've moved my entire family to Dr. Loveland's office after other dentists attempted to rip them off and wanted to perform unnecessary treatments. I've referred other friends to him after hearing their horror stories from other dental offices and they now see him too! The quality of his work is excellent. I have fillings and a crown and have never had any issues with anything needing replaced. Dental work is expensive but thankfully Dr. Loveland will help you prioritize what really needs to be done and what can possible wait. The way they set their schedule is perfect; there is hardly ever a wait. They have early days and late days to accommodate people's scheduling needs. I had a wisdom tooth cause me great pain, I called them in a rush just hoping someone could help me and yank out the tooth at any cost. Three weeks ago I called and The young lady who answered was patient and kind and did her absolute best to get me in, they only had 4pm appt available, and she could I guess hear the panic in my voice and managed to get me in almost immediately. When I got in, I was not only an emotional wreck from pain but also I'm petrified of the dentist which is why my feet have become the state they're in. The DA that helped me and took my images was so kind and understanding and made me feel comfortable. Then Dr Loveland came in, and told me yes the tooth needed to go but I had such an infection that we needed to do antibiotics first, and talked to me about it, didn't stray off in to the many other issues in my teeth which he absolutely could have done to upsell me, he said he wanted to focus on getting me out of pain and we can tackle the rest later. Fast forward to last Thursday the day we pulled the tooth. I had the best experience with dr Loveland and his very patient and kind staff. I was crying and freaking out even after Xanax and they still managed to make me feel completely comfortable, not like I was putting them out. Even when another da came in and asked for his help, while I was panicking, he could have easily walked away to handle that and he didn't. It made me feel like I was in hands that cared. He made sure I felt 0 pain and I still haven't. I will only be using this office from now on as long as dr Loveland works there. I still have a fear but it's not nearly as paralyzing as it was thanks to someone who genuinely cares about people. read more

I would give zero stars if they allowed me to. I have had regular dental care from the same dentist my entire life but recently moved here from CA so I needed to find a new dentist. I went in for an initial exam and cleaning and after the exam I was told that I needed laser cleaning and also another special cleaning on top of the normal one. I told them that I wasn't interested in the cleaning and they came back telling me that at a minimum I needed the special cleaning which would be $600. This is on top of the $150 exam, so $750 for an initial exam and cleaning, and that's after I opted out of the laser. When I told them that I wasn't interested in the special cleaning but I would like the normal one they said that in good conscience they couldn't allow me to purchase anything less than what I really needed so it was the $600 job or nothing. I left extremely upset and I will never return. In my opinion these people are there for one reason, to upcharge their patients and to get every nickel out of them that they can. If your wallet isn't deep enough they probably don't want to see you. read more

Have been going here a little over twelve years. Dr. Loveland and his staff are great! We recommend them to eveyone

First off..I love Dr. Loveland. This review is not about him..he's excellent. Unfortunately, I won't be going back because of the new girl that they have cleaning teeth. Don't know her name, but she has red hair and was unpleasant. I'm 56 years old. I know my gums are receeding. This is not my first time trying to be sold a "deep cleaning" that costs hundreds of dollars out of pocket, because insurance doesn't cover it. I have had it done twice, maybe three times in the past..it doesn't make a difference. It's a SCAM!!! ITS HOW THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY.. BY UPSELLING. It's how they increase their bottom line!!! You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out! I let her do her check by measuring the pockets. This time she poked every tooth 4 times to measure gum loss. She actually poked me in the wrong spot twice and it hurt. When she was done, I told her "I just want a regular cleaning. Nothing else." She left and sent the "finance" girl in! The finance girl then tries to tell me how much my suggested treatment is going to cost!! I said "I don't want additional treatment. Just a regular cleaning". She refused to go any further until I listened to the sales pitch. I got up and said I don't have time for this. She said "ok", I'll just collect your money for the fillings". She WASN'T going to do a regular cleaning until I would sit there and listen to the sales pitch!! I paid what I owed..walked out and will never return. Neither will my husband..and neither will I ever recommend this office again. Sorry Dr. Loveland...if that's how you run the show now..I will go to another of the 1000+ dentists in Las Vegas. I am a medical professional/surgeon in the Las Vegas Valley. It is extremely difficult for me to schedule appointments for myself to see any doctors due to my busy schedule. I told this to the scheduling staff at this office when I made the appointment. Knowing that my schedule was tight and that I have a couple of pretty serious issues with some teeth, and also having told the staff that I will be going on a long vacation soon, they asked me to scan and send my insurance card so they could verify my insurance. Over 1 week later, I get a call from them, the day before my scheduled appointment, telling me that they do not take my insurance and that nothing will be covered. Total disrespect of my time, and totally unprofessional on their part, particularly knowing that I am a fellow medical professional.
