I went for my regular cleaning today and I like the dentist and we discussed and agreed to work on my priorities. But I was super disappointed when I had to discuss it with the front desk lady in charge of pre-authorization. She won't listen to my concerns I even had to talk to the dentist again! She (I think Sandra is her name) even said insurance may not cover my crown and will take 4 weeks for estimate. What the..!! My previous experience with this place they can send a pre-auth asap. Please do not go here. I truly believe something is very wrong with this practice. I received a flyer in the mail for a $60 cleaning. I called and made an appointment for the cleaning, and I mentioned the flyer. When I went to the office for my appointment, they had me fill out a bunch of forms (which is totally expected) but one of the forms had a line in it that said I was giving them permission to use any images they take for marketing and other purposes. I thought that was strange, but I just said I did not give them permission to use my images and moved on. They brought me into the back and proceeded to take x-rays and photographs of my mouth and my face. I was in the chair for an hour and a half getting images taken before the doctor came in to look at my teeth. She told me I would need $2000 worth of work to my teeth. Among other things, she told me I had a cracked tooth that contained a large filling, the filling was no longer good and I would need a crown. I asked her if she could just replace the filling. She seemed annoyed at my question and told me no. She then tried to sell me on tooth whitening and straightening procedures (I've had braces and already have very straight teeth). After all that, they told me they did not have time to do the cleaning! I was shocked! I had made this appointment for a cleaning, I spent almost 2hours there, and I was not going to get the cleaning!?! To top it off, as I was checking out, they told me they just had a cancellation and could do the cleaning now. I said no thanks and got the heck out of there. A few weeks later I went to another dentist (with a 5star rating). That dentist confirmed my suspicions. The tooth is not cracked and the filling just needs to be replaced!!! Arroyo dental is a scam. Please save yourself time, money, and aggravation and go somewhere else! read more

I was eating salami and I mustve chewed on a small piece of bone cuz it cracked my rear molar! I called Arroyo Dental because it was in network with my Dental Insurance and they set up an appointment an hour later to get care. Had to get two crowns and they went to work fast. Pain management was good, I understood everything before we got started (financially) and I'll definitely be returning for more upkeep. read more

If you loved being talked to like you're 5 years old. Well this is the place for you. The Dr. Nguyen loves to say "Only floss the teeth you want to keep". Always make me feel guilty about not having prestige teeth. I am sure my teeth are better than the majority of people. They bombard you on confirmation and reminder emails and text. Even call you. The staff are nice, but unfortunately the main dentist and her practices are just too much and demeaning. Wanted to leave a year ago and after today I should thank them for finally forcing me to go. Do not go to this dentist! The dentists are great but the front desk clerks doesn't know how to bill, the billing part is very unorganized. My husband, my son and I were all with this dentist and my husband and I both have insurance coverage. My son was under my insurance coverage the whole time. They mess up the bill in 2016 April and sent us letter saying we owe them money. I made some phone calls and found out they mistakenly billed my son's bill to my husband's insurance and for cleaning teeth without insurance it ended up we owe them $138. They said they would correct it but after more than a year we got the letter saying we owe they money for the same case. The clerk was rude and told me she wasn't working there in 2016. She said she wasn't there when it happened so she can't do anything for us. She kept saying that we owe them money and we have to pay for it. read more

I can't say enough good things about the new owner and a new doctor, dr. Song, who is so nice, intelligent and professional!!! He wanted to make it right and correct my problem. He did it absolutely for free. He completely redone my black crown and replaced it eith a wonderful crown which looks perfect. I'm so happy. It's a lifechanging experience! If I could rate this place a 0 I would. I just got a letter saying I owe them $105.20 after a YEAR of getting a dental service from them. They said they have insufficient information from my insurance and that's why I owe them money. When I went to get my dental treatment, I stayed there for 2 hours just to fix the information for my insurance and to provide EVERYTHING that they needed. And it's just upsetting that they waited one year to get a hold of me. My problem is, how can they wait A YEAR later to contact me about this information. Not to mention that the clerk was very rude. We were trying to talk to her, and all she said was "you're not listening to me." Not only that she hung up on us TWICE. And she threatened to put our billing to the account collector agency. First visit, exam, X-rays, cleaning. I have no sensitivity or symptoms and have taken care of my teeth and received consistent exams, cleaning and work (when actually needed) over the years. I'm then told I need work to be done and how critical it was to get done immediately otherwise risking having to get root canal work. I ask several times for a proposal, X-rays, pictures and breakdown to be emailed to me versus having the office salesperson verbally go through the proposed work and charges. After receiving the email detailing over $2,500 in "necessary work," I see another dentist the following week who was referred by a doctor's office. After another comprehensive exam with X-rays, my new dentist states that there is no need whatsoever for any of the work proposed by the first office... If it walks, looks and sounds like a duck...it's a duck. No, I WOULD NOT recommend this office and Dr. Nguyen unless of course you're like the Bill Murray masochistic character in Little Shop of Horrors. read more

This review is based on the experience I had. I don't think that the discussion of how much you will pay should be done while you are under the anesthesia (even a local one). That was already a red flag for me. I wanted wanted to leave but how can I while all of those anesthesia have been already injected on your gums! Well, maybe that is how they do it. Another thing is how rough they did the procedure. There is no patient care at all. I regret going here since I felt that they have the right to judge you based on the insides of your mouth and your teeth. Except for the long wait, the treatment went fine. At first, we did'nt feel welcome because the only person and the "only one" who greeted us with a welcoming smile was the receptionist. This is the reason why I'd asked one of the staffs if she was having a bad day. Out of respect to the doctor, I did not ask him and his assistant the same question. The same person had earlier barked at us for being there in the hallway (not inside the treatment room because we've already been told by dental assistants to step outside the room when doing the xrays). I used to go to this dentist but one day got me surprised when I received a bill statement stating I had to pay them, thats after 1 year from going in and out in their office, so I called my insurance and asked why am I getting this bill to pay them , first of all they never said anything that I have to pay them so after 1 year yes I received it . I've been going to Arroyo now for 3-4 years and have been happy every time. The reception area and staff are always very welcoming and friendly. The facilities are clean too, which is important. There is plenty of entertainment as well. The technology is very current, and my doctor is amazing. While she is young, she is incredibly knowledgeable and professional. I feel like Arroyo is always honest and forthright with me, too, which is rare because it's not uncommon for dentists to rip you off (in my experience). Went to get my teeth checked. Unfortunately, I know I got a lot of problems with my teeth due to homelessness. But I am a bit more stable to pay for services w/ insurance. But, I have been told I need a deep cleaning. Not a normal cleaning. With my experience with deep cleaning another dentist gave me a gap I did not have claiming it was plaque build up that cause to have to stretch my teeth apart. This dentist indicated taking up for the profession that causing a gap is unlikely it would be the persons fault. Without the concern of the patient insisted a Deep Cleaning is all that is the available approach as the receptionist indicated when I called to ask for what I want as a patient. This tells me as a patient to continue brushing your teeth til you get the money to receive what they want to do for you not what you want as the person who pays. I as very disappointed since I just want a normal cleaning to work towards the offered services. So, basically I feel like I wasted my insurance coverage for nothing. Then the services of what I need as far as a teeth pulled. I got referred out to someone else. The doc is very nice but I just feel there is more to be done than recommended without spending money over and over at different dentist locations to find a dentist to given different alternatives. I went in with a severe toothache from deterioration of a molar that was also compounded with an impacted wisdom tooth. They informed me that the extraction of both was necessary but since the deteriorated molar was so fragile, they didn't want to put me through agony extracting them there and referred me to an oral surgeon. I received a coupon in the mail for a free evaluation and x-rays. The receptionist was excellent and personable and was able to give me an appointment the same day. The woman who did the x-rays was pleasant, but her camera didn't work, then she had trouble taking x-rays. The x-rays were extremely thorough. The dentist was personable, but very, very brief. The hygienist had poor people skills and made me feel like I had three months to live. I came because of a toothache, and did not really receive a definitive answer about remedies. I will not return tomorrow for a summary of problems, and have the feeling all is wrong. The x-ray tech became confused and told me I had a cracked tooth on the same side as a previous cracked tooth, but actually it was on the other side. Came in for a cleaning . Was on time but it took them 37 minutes to see me . Paid a $50 deductible and all they did was an exam , polished over my teeth and then talked to me about my "treatment" plan and all the money that needs to be spent . Had been coming here for years and was always happy with the service . The main Doctor , Dr.Chuy was great , took his time , and made sure he met all the patients needs and expectations . These new doctors seemed like they didnt know what they were doing . They didnt remove plaque build up from my teeth , they did not floss me , they did not give me glasses when they were spraying in my mouth so water was getting all over my eyes and hair . They did not have me rinse and spit to get any excess to come out . and they did not use a fluoride tray at the end . they polished my first 6 bottom and top teeth only from the front and i could still feel and see the plaque on the front and feel it on the inside . The main doctor was aggressive with her tools and was hurting my mouth . She even stabbed into my gum and made it bleed and apologized the tool slipped . Just terrible . They lost 4 loyal customers because my family and I are never coming back here . read more
