The worst manicure I have ever had. My manicurist (woman with dyed blonde hair) didn't even soak my hands in warm water or apply a cuticle remover / softener, she just pushed back my dry cuticles with a metal spatula which was painful. Then she went after them with a cuticle scissor in a choppy fashion, leaving them ragged like I had been chewing on them. And this was a manicure I made an appointment for, not just a rushed walk-in! They also don't appear to be disinfecting their tools, as the manicurist just wiped off the cuticle scissors after using them. Yes it's cheap, but you run the risk of a bad infection. Stay away!! read more

1st visit was a decent experience with Coco. Gel Pedicure and my friend had a manicure. manicure ended with a hot towel neck massage which we were told is included with manicures. 1 month later Coco no longer works there ( I don't have to wonder why ) so I booked a gel manicure with "the male owner ". Do yourselves a favor. don't ever ! it was hardly a manicure. He filed my nails , never soaked them and attempted to use a dirty Cuticle cutter on my cuticles ~ dry No water ever, no oil. He painted them ( not well ). He surely can not do a French and laughed at me and said NO when I told him the width of the French I wanted and he also would not do 2 coats of top coat. He thinks he should make your nails look the way he wants to. At the end he put a blob of lotion on my hand and patted it twice and was done ~ not the slightest bit of exaggeration ! He said you're done. I asked about the hot towel massage and he said No ! I said It comes with the manicure. However, at this point I didn't want such a rude and clearly unsanitary person touching me any longer. The woman getting a manicure next to me just finished hers with the neck / shoulder massage. I was charged and paid full price 45.00 and for the first time in my life I chose to not leave him a tip. Usually I tip 20-30% everywhere I go. He didn't even deserve full payment since I didn't get full service. I left without tipping and will never return. As I walked away he yelled and I mean yelled at me. THANKS ! HOPE YOU HAVE A NICE DAY ! It's taken me many years to learn to not waste my time with such ignorant people and just walk away.. So rather than turn around and put him in his place I decided he will sink his own ship. So here's To him ~. Here's your tip. Provide the full service you are getting paid for , do it properly and be kind and you will be tipped. Scam people, treat people poorly, use dirty tools and you lose customers, Not just me but every person I know. Now I know why there are so many bad reviews on line-they are all true. Not getting a tip shouldn't be your worry~ keep treating people so poorly and you'll be out of business. read more

I had the worst experience. They don't have acrylic at their salon (which should have been made clear to me when I made the appointment for an acrylic fill...) when I sat down I was told that they didn't have acrylic but she could fill my nails with sculpting gel instead, so I opted to give it a try. It wasn't even 24 hours later and my nails were already lifting. I went back and was given a refund and went to the always trusty Jazzy Nails in Warren (always reliable, I should have just gone here in the first place but that's my fault). Turns out mixing acrylic powder and sculpting gel is a recipe for ruined nail beds! It took the nail tech at Jazzy at least half an hour to remove what was on my nails and underneath was extremely brittle. I've been getting acrylic for years and have never had this experience. Safe to say that I will never be returning here again. read more

This place gets the job done! I've come about five times now and have always left happy with how my gel manicures and regular pedicures turned out. There is even a small discount when you book both of those services together. I would have given a five star rating if the place was a bit nicer. With the peeling-off-the-wall posters, the pool noodle arm rests, and the kiddish stickers above the sink, I feel like this place doesn't have a high-end spa feel. If they could do a few touch ups to their aesthetics, and get neutral colored / matching desk materials, this place would be so much more enjoyable. read more

Had a great experience here! Went in for a mani/pedi and they did a great job helping me select a color and letting me know that there were exact color matches for the gel polish and polish for my toes. They did an amazing job with Covid-19 protocols, which is very important to me. Everyone wore masks, there was a plastic curtain in between me and the employee when she was doing my pedicure, and there was a plexiglass barrier when I was getting a manicure. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment! This salon is new to Barrington (in the same complex as Starbucks and CVS). I went today for a pedi/gel mani and was happily surprised at all of the work they have done to make it safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic. There are clear shields at the pedicure and manicure stations. They take your temperature as you enter and have sanitizer everywhere. Social distancing was easy to maintain, as only 4 clients are allowed at a time. They did an incredible job on my nails and took the extra time to clean them up since it's been a few months. read more

I have not been impressed with other nail options in town, so for me this is a great addition, and in the oh-so-convenient Barrington shopping center. The shop is big, bright, and ultra-clean: liners are used in the tubs, callouses were scrubbed with a single-use pad, etc. I had a basic mani/pedi, but it didn't feel basic because it included lotion, massage, and a hot towel. My nails look fantastic, and the staff are lovely to work with. Prices are pretty standard. The shop just opened, so all services are 20% off as a promo. The pedicure polish peeled off after 5 days. (See photo) This was my first time using Rainbow (I usually go to Aloha) and the experience of getting the pedicure was wonderful - the place was clean, the nail tech was friendly and attentive. I had planned to write them a great review. So I was surprised to see the paint coming off. I went back in and very politely asked if they could touch up the toes that looked the worst. The man I spoke with laughed at me - literally, he just laughed and said I shouldn't expect it to last longer than 5 days unless I ask for gel. I told him I have used OPI in other salons for years and expected the OPI polish from Rainbow to last just as long as from other places... usually it's about 2 weeks (sometimes 3) before it starts chipping. He laughed at me again and told me to go back to the salon I used before - which I absolutely will! I'm shocked - I can't remember the last time I had such horrible service!! He laughed at me, honestly, I'm still shocked... it is gutting to have someone laugh at you in public. read more

I was visiting from france and needed to have my nails done so I looked for the highest rated place near to where I was staying. I walked I to RI Rainbow without an appointment and was pleased with the bright clean space. There was a friendly welcome and I felt as though I was in good hands. I had a standard mani pedi for $45 and had a very sweet woman taking care of me. I was surprised at how fast the sweet woman trimmed my cuticles as well as polishing the nails - allowing no time in between for layers to dry slightly. I was out of there in 45 minutes which compared to a salon in Paris - which normally takes about two hours. Initially I thought my hands looked ok - sufficient for the low price but as I took a closer look at my toe nails, they were bumpy and honestly a mess. After three days there was so much chipping on the polish on my hands that I just took all the polish off. When I have a mani pedi in france it says for a solid two weeks. There was a hot massage at end which could have been nice except that the plastic wrap directly on the skin wasn't nice at all. A real disappointment and much too expensive for what you get. I really wanted to give a good review as the people there were sweet - but the quality of the work was terrible. read more

Was searching online for a nail salon that does nail design/art in the East Bay Area. This place had an Instagram with nail art that they have done, looked clean. So selected this place to give it a try. When I sat down I asked the nail tech if they could do a design I picked out. They proceeded to tell me they don't do that there. Great place if you just want regular color and no artistic ability. Very disappointed by the false advertisement online. They went above and beyond in many ways, cleanliness is one. This place is squeaky clean and sparkling. Their prices are very affordable. I picked a light polish for my pedicure and he did many coats to ensure it wasn't see through. Not to mention just when I thought he was going to cash me out, he brought me over to dry my toes AND gave me a 3 minute complimentary back massage! Only down fall is no acrylics. read more
