It's not Rib and Chicken any more. It's Chung gi wa - Korean cuisines. New owners have changed the menu so there's only expensive ribs (+$50). Bansang is half size portions and arrived right when the main meal was served. Bibimbap is $15 without any meat ($18 with meat). Used to be $15 with meat. The layout is exactly the same as before. The service is good and friendly. Still Korean owned and operated. So, it's the last time coming here because bills jumped up +$10 a person for a meal. read more

Made a day of traveling into Langley, BC looking for some interesting food, found a great little Korean rib and chicken joint. Hostess was amazing and very friendly we started with a few sample of egg soup which was a fantastic light start. My mother got the salad which was an excellent fresh green salad with a satisfying ginger dressing. Order the trio "family style" of fried chicken and pork ribs with cheese with of course extra cheese on the side for my wife to dip her fried chicken in. By far the best part was the soy garlic fried chicken and the kimchi which was clearly in house made, not too spicy and lovely crunch. We'll be back next time we're in British Columbia for sure. read more

How did I not know that Langley had so many Korean restaurants? Most of my Korean restaurant outings have been in Vancouver/Burnaby, so it was a pleasant surprise to find a branch of Rib & Chicken in downtown Langley. I've got nothing but praise for the fried chicken. The original flavor had the perfect crunch on the outside, piping hot juiciness on the inside. The sweet & spicy was saucy and flavorful, pairing perfectly with the complimentary pickled radish. The spicy soft tofu soup (soondooboo) was a little salty for my taste, but it was generous in the seafood - the bowl was full of clam, mussel, and squid. I wish they had added shrimp as well, and it would've been nice to have other non-seafood soondooboo options as well. Overall a pretty good experience! They're using plastic spoons and wooden chopsticks these days (presumably due to COVID); the spoons were a little small, but it makes sense to not use reusable ones right now. I might not be back for the soup, but I'd definitely come back for the fried chicken. read more

The Korean Fried Chicken journey continues and I had to share my favourite spot in Langley! I've been sharing this spot on my Insta stories for a while now and have been getting a ton of questions on where the food was from. Guess what guys it's from RIB & CHICKEN! The main reason for why I LOVE this spot is because the chicken isn't overly battered and is super tender. The Grilled Beef Short Ribs are AMAZING. It's cooked perfectly and is marinated in a delicious sauce. It's laid on top of onions which is covered in the meat juices - the perfect bite would be with the beef, onions, kimchi and rice! The cool thing about this place is that they offer full to half sizes! I usually order takeout from this spot so visiting the restaurant was new for me. The employees are friendly and accommodating, and the food came out super quick! They have announced that they will be opening a 2nd location in BURNABY! How exciting! Hidden Gem in Langley! Super delicious Korean restaurant that specializes in their teppan grilled meats! We got both the tender beef short ribs, and the half&half spicy + non-spicy juicy dakgalbi chicken. It's so hard to pick which one is better for us, but for me personally dipping the chicken in a bed of melty mozzarella cheese is just absolutely like heaven! Pleasantly surprised by this place! Simple decor, vibe matches the restaurant theme. However, service was a tad slower than I expected. I believe it's because they get a lot of take out orders. We tried their beef ribs, spicy pork ribs with cheese and half-half fried chicken. These three dishes were amazing, i would order them all again! The beef ribs were tender and juicy. The spicy pork ribs with cheese was my second favourite!! Be warned, the spiciness level is true to it's scale. We ordered medium and it had just the right amount of kick, loved it! Best of all, was the original fried chicken!!!! It was airy and juicy and crispy. I was thoroughly surprised by the quality of it! We got the half sweet chili and regular chicken. I was craving something crispy.. and these chicken were defiantly crispy! It was pretty good. The chicken had more meat than fat which is good! I don't like how some Resturant uses more fat than meat... The other picture we got a beef kimchi pot. There was lots of kimchi in it and the meat fell off the bone! It was great. My boyfriend loves beef and he loved this meal. I thought it would be really spicy because it was really red (as you can fell in the picture) but wasn't that spicy, it was about right. The deep fried chicken was extra crispy on the outside yet moist on the inside. However, the bulgogi beef hot pot was just ok, and I also felt like I didn't need that much cheese for my meat (but who says no to cheese?). A nice little extra was the steamed egg that came at the beginning with the sides. The space is open and easily accommodates families or groups. I was torn between 3 and 4 stars because the food was average but the service was great. Came here after a hike and was craving some fried chicken. The decor here is super unique and felt like I was transported to a small village in Korea! The staff here are attentive and service was super fast and efficient. They even gave us a stone bowl steamed egg on the house, which was a nice touch! We tried the spicy, garlic, and classic fried chicken. HIDDEN GEM ALERT! This is my FAVOURITE redtaurant to go for KFC (Korean fried chicken), even when up against popular Vancouver spots! This is due to the amazingly crunchy skin and perfectly tender meat - the meat is also still fairly intact, as opposed to others that serve them chicken nuggets-style, in mystery chunks and overly battered/sauced. My second favourite is their grilled pork ribs, served in a portable grill with gooey melted mozzarella cheese in the middle. It's not served in a fancy platter with sides surrounding the fish, but the ribs always have that great charcoal-cooked flavour - and it's fun to wrap the strings of cheese around each rib. The servers are always very friendly and take great care of you. A bonus for families is that they have some us that your kids are free to play with, although the restaurant probably could use more space between the tables for this. My only suggestion would be to have a few more options to their limited menu (although I get why they wanna keep it small), and to maybe have a bit of an update on the exterior. Otherwise, my KFC cravings always keeps me coming back here! read more

Great place to grab some grilled Korean meat. We'd be craving something like this for a while, and while Tabom kinda scratched the itch a bit, there really isn't too much in the way of Choongchundo style chicken locally that we've seen. Unlike Tabom, Rib & Chicken does not do the fried rice at the end. However, you are provided with a lake of cheese versus a small river. Enter Rib & Chicken. As indicated by their name, they serve, well, Rib and Chicken. As you may have surmised from the photos, these come in a pool of cheese that gradually melts over the burner. You are good to go when a good portion of the cheese has melted. We ended up ordering a half pork rib (spicy), and half chicken (mild spice). The meat comes pre-grilled, which is a nice touch since there's no extra waiting around for the meat to cook on the iron pan. Once the cheese starts to melt, you can dig right in. For me, the ribs were slightly spicier than I'd like, but not flaming hot as I've had at other places. If you aren't able to stand spicy foods, stick with mild or no spice. The marinade is very tasty, and you can taste the grilled meat and is very nicely accentuated by the lake of cheese. The chicken is tender and also well marinated. It is absolutely heavenly with the cheese dip. We had this one mild, and I think it just had the right amount of kick. As others have noted, Rib & Chicken serves a steamed egg side dish along with kimchi, fish cakes, and pickled onions. The purpose of this is twofold. First, eggs are great. Secondly, when eating spicy foods, the steamed egg helps to cool your palate so you aren't breathing flames. Very nice of Rib & Chicken to do include this. Instead of rice, you are served a salad, so don't go to town on that until your meat arrives. That being said, a bowl of rice can also be added for an extra $2 if you feel the need. We didn't have the pleasure of trying their fried chicken, so that will have to wait for the next visit. Overall Rib & Chicken is a great place to go, and it's nice to see that we finally have options for these types of dishes that are so popular in Korea. A half order of chicken, ribs, side of rice and a beer came to about $45 after tax with leftovers to take home. Well worth the money, and well worth the trip out to Langley. Wow amazing service and attention to detail. We stopped by because there was a Monday promotion for their fried chicken this month. You can get a large order of fried chicken for the price of the medium ($19.99). We also ordered a beef hot pot ($29.99) which included two bowls of rice, and two steamed eggs in mini hot pots. Banchan of kimchi, mash potato and pickled radish was served. We received a banchan refill at no extra charge. Our server was very accommodating with children. There was also a little area of toys available for younger kids to play and high chairs available. She promptly refilled water and did her rounds to check up on customers. Food was fantastic. The fried chicken was crispy, but not greasy. The meat was moist under the batter. There was a side of sweet chilli sauce served. The beef hot pot had a soup base on the sweeter side. I found the pot itself to be more shallow than other restaurants. There was slices of beef, onions, cabbage, carrots and sweet potato noodles. I am glad to find another restaurant serving Korean steamed eggs. It used to be so difficult for me to find this dish after returning from a trip to Seoul. This one was more basic with only eggs and some green onion. I hope they make version with more ingredients. This is a family friendly option for those who bring their children out to dine at a restaurant. I recommend checking out what their promotions are and stopping by if you are in the area. If you've been to Seoul, you would definitely crave for some spicy baby back ribs n' cheese! This restaurant relinquished that craving! Their spicyness level for each dish shouldn't be underestimated (they have 3 levels no spice, spicy and very spicy). We ordered the SPICY baby back ribs and cheese, and it was really spicy!!! Amazing service! The restaurant is clean and spacious, unlike usual Asian restaurants cramped and unclean. Family owned and operated and greeted with a smile. Was seated promptly at a circle table for bigger groups. High chairs are available for kids and toys too. Very child friendly. Got the Monday deal medium fried chicken and you get large for same price so $19.99. Also got the beef hot pot for $30 which comes with Korean appetizers and two egg soups and a bowl of rice. Food took a bit of time but didn't mind as it means it was freshly made. Fried chicken was not greasy and you get about 20 Pieces. Batter was crispy and not too salty. OMG! Where do I start?! The service was A1, the food was A1 - this restaurant is A1! My partner and I ordered the half and half (half spicy, half non-spicy) chicken with cheese. We're aware of how to cook the cheese, but we never had this big of a portion and we ended up burning the cheese.. So just an advice that you should turn off the burner as soon as the cheese has melted so you can actually dip the chicken with cheese properly! :) We don't usually travel this far to a restaurant, but it was definitely worth the drive! I love this place. Fantastic food, friendly service- have been for lunch, pickup & delivery. Love the fried chicken, of course, also the ribs of both sorts. Great for impromptu parties (each is 1 kg!!) The lunch size portions: bibimbop, the bulgoki and chicken mayo are a nice size-- easily seen to be individual by their VERY reasonable price. NOT expensive, contrary to other reports. (unless you want to eat an entire order of beef ribs all by yourself.) Which is just creepy. As others have said, bright, clean friendly. I don't review a lot of restaurants anymore because most are underwhelming, but Rib & Chicken is fantastic. The food was phenomenal. Some of the best fried chicken I've ever eaten in my life. The spicy chicken & cheese dish (I believe this is called Buldak) sounds strange, but it is also one of the best things I've ever had the pleasure of eating. While you're there, try some soju (clear alcohol, approx 12% ABV) in one of the many available flavours. The family that runs the restaurant is very friendly. Fantastic food!! So glad we finally decided to pop in here as we've peered in the window a few times. The reviews finally made us venture in and are we ever glad we did. We had the spicy chicken and cheese but the waiter suggested we try half cheese and half rice. Perfect. It was very spicy, but that's just fine by me. My only suggestion would be for a more descriptive menu. Those of us who are new to this cuisine weren't too sure about what to order or what came with the meal so a little guidance would have been nice. I ordered take out of the Grilled Pork Back Ribs and was told it would take 20-25 mins to cook which was fine. Because it was take out I didn't look at it until I got home. I had 6 rib bones and I bet there wasn't a mouthful on each one. For $17.99 it was a ripoff. I called them and told them so and said I have had Chinese takeout with ten times as much food for $10.99. This is the first review I have ever written on a restaurant and if it looks like I am bitter it's because I am.
