Rib City, STAT! Other than coming here for lunch or dinner...Rib City has become my go-to for catering when we throw a big bash. This time it was for my hubby's birthday, so I ordered Pulled Pork, Brisket, Mac-n-Cheese, Baked Beans and Coleslaw. Always so freakin' delicious! The Pulled Pork and Brisket were both so incredibly flavorful and tender! The Mac-n-Cheese was DA BOMB! Got bacon? Yeah, it's in it! The Baked Beans and Coleslaw...gotta get them to complete the meal, right? Bottom line...Rib City has the best BBQ and their customer service has always been excellent! The food was horrible! It looked like it had been sitting there all day. I didn't even eat it. The menu prices online do not reflect the prices in the restaurant. My family and I were vacationing through Colorado and stopped in Montrose for lunch. We walked past this place and decided to give it a try since my dad is on a meat only diet. This place is a true American style restaurant. Lots of meats and side options. I'm a fried okra fanatic so of course I had to give them a try and they were some of the best I've ever had! The meats were all very juicy and tender. I also decided to try their peach beer and it was delicious. Overall, great service, food and drinks - highly recommend to anyone looking for a meat spot while in Montrose! read more

What a disappointment! We've been eating at this restaurant for several years and always enjoyed it. But tonight ... not so. My wife and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, which now contained half the meat that it formerly did. The "southern green beans" came right out of a can, without any seasoning or character at all. Service was very slow. Ambiance? The room was fine, but the bathroom was a pit. Towel dispenser half falling off the wall and used paper towels everywhere. The trash can was filled well beyond its capacity and spilled on the floor. The expert was so dismal that even the good past history may not be enough to offset it. read more

My husband stopped here to get us some BBQ for Labor Day. He wanted to try some other places but they were closed. He got some ribs, brisket, sausage, coleslaw and potato salad. Frist, we live in TX part of the year and in CO part of the year. The coleslaw and potato salad are different than in TX. We found it good if not different. Brisket was fine. A bit more fatty than we like. Sausage again ok. Nothing special. The ribs were dry. Very dry. Over cooked dry? It was a fine meal. Nothing memorable. We did take out as we are still be cautious with COVID. They had a nice set up for take out and appear to be trying to be cautious with COVID vs other restaurants in the area. Terrible service the last 2 times we went. Tonight going, the waitress took about 20 minutes to get my drink order and never brought the drink, we asked the young man who was clearing tables. Manager brought the appetizer and we said we ordered spicy ranch too, she said okay I'll be back, and she was, then said I'll be right back to take your order. She NEVER came back and we waited 30 more minutes before the waitress came to place our order and we had already decided that we were going elsewhere. She brought my sons food out right before handing us the check and also NEVER came back. I am saddened that this is the service they provide, they weren't even busy. read more

This place used to be really good, My family and I decided to go eat after a couple years of not going. while visiting. We ordered wings, Baked Potato, mac and cheese, and a salad with chicken. I was sat where i could see the kitchen and we waited maybe around 30 minutes for our food. our food had been sitting on the window for 30 minutes and when we finally got it. everything was cold. The main reason for my 3 star rating is the website prices need to be updated. What we thought was a $43 dollar meal ended up being $63 instead. Kind of shocking but we understand prices are going up (maybe not that much) the meal was ok but definitely more like a forty dollar meal and not $60... OK I am doing my best to try to make sure that I order food to go from local restaurants at least 2 to 3 times a week. I've always really liked Rib City Grill's food. So I ordered the brisket dinner tonight and picked it up. She showed it to me before she put it in the bag and it looked OK. When I got it home and transferred it to a plate there were probably two nice pieces of brisket and the rest of it was big hunks of fat.Not sure I want to pay $15.99 a plate for fat. I have been here a few times now, service is friendly and the food is ok. It was better the second time than the first. I would recommend staying with the ribs as the smoked meats have all come out on the dry side, even for being smoked. They have a decent smoke flavor The ribs have been pretty good both times with a decent glaze of sauce on them. Sides are passable, though nothing stands out really. Portions are more than fair and not overwhelming. Wednesdays they advertise 25-cent pint night and they have the Buds, Fat Tire, and a couple others on draft. On the table are 3 kinds of sauces a sweet, a smoky and a mustard. There is also the "hot" one in the kitchen, but don't have them bring it out expecting more than a hint of fire.. it is tasty, but I would classify it more "spicy" than "hot." Came to Montrose for a wedding this weekend and took my Uncle and his family out for Father's Day. We all had some kind of BBQ sandwich with fries or another side. We also had ordered some fried okra and buffalo shrimp. We were all full and happy with our meal. If you want a spicier sauce just ask them for it. I give the sauce 2 thumbs up. If you're in Montrose Rib City a good choice for barbecue ribs. I had the full rack the quality was good, the smoke was OK not a lot of choices for sauce. I travel a lot across the south so I've had a chance to eat at many different types of barbecue restaurants and I have tried many different styles. In my opinion Rib City needs a better variety of table sauces. All the people that work at the restaurant we're great. I will be back. read more

There were two booths open when we arrived. One got bussed then the hostess seated a couple there. Two hostesses walked by the other booth several times, looked at it and walked away. Finally a manager walked over, bussed the booth then seated us. The two hostesses were teenagers, each lacking a good work ethic. Not too surprised by that attitude these days. Ordered the special: 1/2 rack of ribs with 6 fried shrimp. Upgraded one of my side dish choices to a side salad. In plain English, it sucked. The ribs tasted OK, but they were the smallest ribs I have ever seen at a restaurant. They should be advertising these as riblets, that's how small they were. The shrimp tasted like they came out of a box from the frozen food department at the grocery store. And to top our unimpressive experience, the booth behind us had two whining, screaming kids. First, the girl seating us was very rude when I asked if the water was good around the area because I wanted water. Her exact words(with an attitude): why wouldn't it be? Second, the food was mediocre at best. The baked beans had no taste at all and the pulled pork looked like mush. Third and final, our waitress, after dropping our food off, sat behind us and talked to some guy for almost 15 mins then went across the room and talked to her friends the rest of the time. She never asked us how our food was, never offered refills..nothing. As I sit here writing this she still hasn't brought our check. No tip for her that is for sure.
