Visiting family and came straight here after the flight from Las Vegas. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were able to get a table for a family of 5 within about 10 minutes. In the meantime, we were able to wait outside and order appetizers. Outside has tables and it was a very laid back environment. The food didn't disappoint. We ordered the garlic bread and calamari as appetizers. Both were delicious. I ordered the chicken Alfredo which was both tasty and filling. The pizza looked delicious as well. We have been going to Ricardo's for decades plus my wife if from Greendale. Yesterday, I ordered on-line, 1 family size ch/sausage to go. I was told 40 minutes and got there on time (4:40pm). I gave my name and was told, it's in the oven, 5 minutes. After 10 more minutes I was told, almost done...Went back to the window after 15 minutes and they hadn't even started my pizza as they forgot it..I was told it would be done in 20 minutes, so I waited outside and in 20 minutes went back in. Had to wait 10 more minutes and I was given my pizza. Yes, I am a patient person and yelling won't get me my zza any faster. As I waited...3 people who ordered take out said, "this isn't my pizza" and they had to wait. Another lady who ordered a family size got a large and she wanted a partial refund. Finally, I got home and couldn't wait to eat, when I also received a large and not a family size. Not only that, my pizza was barley warm and looked like it was sitting about 20 minutes prior to me getting it. It didn't look good. The issue is process failure. The 2 gentlemen working takeout can't answer the phones, take payment and serve the pizza for takeout all at the same time. They need a better process and maybe a kitchen manager who helps when it gets busy. This is an easy fix if the owners make an effort. Looks like the next few zza's will be Maria's or Neds until I have 90 minutes to get another from Ricardo's - OR eat in the dining room. read more

This was one of the best pizzas I have tasted in a long time. The crust was very crisp and tasty and the toppings were to die for. The cheese to sauce ratio could have been better, but it ultimately didn't completely take away from the experience. The service wasn't great, but there were a lot of tables to take care of. Blonde lady manger with glasses is extremely rude. Two groups including mine called ahead to ask if we need a reservation and was told we didn't. When we got to the restaurant we were told there was an hour long wait. The manager claims that the number listed on google isn't correct but we called in front of her and it is in fact CORRECT. This was my first visit and we will come back next time we are in the area! We ventured off the highway in hopes of a delicious pizza and we were successful. Even though it was cold outside, the restaurant was warm and inviting. On a Friday night, we avoided the rush and we seated right away. We enjoyed garlic cheese bread as an appetizer, which was yummy and unlike others we had before. It was presented very nicely, too! For dinner, we tried a very basic sausage and cheese pizza and it was very good, with plenty of sauce! My daughter opted for a bowl of chili instead, which was delicious and had a little bit of heat. This is a nice quaint spot for after hours. Quiet bar, and dining area. They generally serve salads, pizzas, and sandwiches. They also have a Friday night fish fry also. Yeah, these guys are like an institution in the Village of Greendale... and with good reason. They have a nice selection of food on the menu and everything is done extremely well. The pizzas are spectacular... great crusts, and extremely tasty. (Our go-to take out pizza order is the Hawaiian, but we order other styles too whenever we eat in). The sandwiches are also very good. My often-made-mistake is to get overly enticed by their appetizer menu and then be challenged to finish my main meal. No problem! The rest just goes home with me. Ricardo's is a favorite meeting place for so many Greendale residents, as well as many who travel into the Village to dine there. As a result, they frequently will be crowded and you'll have to wait to be seated. The staff is friendly and they work as quick as they can to get you seated and served. Ricardo's is a great (and easy) meal getaway for us. I can pretty much guarantee it'll be a worthwhile and enjoyable experience for you too... even if you aren't a local resident and need to drive a bit to get there. read more

Best. Pizza. Ever. Even my three-year-old is ruined for all other pizza places. I can't count the number of people who have asked us where the awesome pizza comes from. I can't believe all the years I've been in this area I have never stopped in at Ricardo's Pizza. Located in the scenic downtown of Greendale, it is just such a cozy hometown scene. My initial impression - WOW! The staff was so friendly and the food was fantastic. Went on a Monday night and it was the Pizza buffet night. I guess they serve all the pizzas that they make with the exception of the ones that have lettuce like BLT because it gets gross under the heat lights. Sat at a table right across from the buffet - can you say torture! I decided to order a burger (Which was GREAT!) and I was starving and that pizza was so close... would anyone notice a piece missing? Hmmm? But I refrained and watched everyone else come and load up their plates. Nightly specials seem like really good deals. Pizza buffet Monday, Wednesday Build Your Own Burger, etc I can't wait to go back. I may be bumping up my stars to five. read more

If you're looking for a place that offers some of the best pizza around, then you need to check out this gem in downtown Greendale. My husband and I have been here many times over the 13 years that we've lived in Greendale, and we have always had a great experience. The staff is very nice and welcoming, and the service is top notch. The dining area is on the smaller side. There is usually a little bit of a wait time for dining in. However, they do have a full bar where you can have a drink while waiting for your table. There is also a carryout option that you can utilize as well. Obviously, Ricardo's is known for their pizza. But, they also have many, many other options to choose from as well. There are lots of different appetizers (I highly recommend the garlic cheese bread!) as well as salads, pasta dishes, burgers, and a Friday Fish Fry. I have had the cheese ravioli on a few occasions, and it is delicious! For the pizza, you can choose from one of their many specialty pizzas, or you have the option to build your own. The pizzas here are very flavorful. They make their pizza dough fresh every day and use fresh produce. Now that the weather is getting nicer, hubby and I will have to plan a trip here and utilize their outdoor patio. read more

Ordered a mini Hawaiian pizza and onion strings for carryout. Was super pumped to get the onion strings which are so much better than onion rings since you don't have to deal with the the onion falling out and the batter to onion ratio is way better. Got to the restaurant and realized I forgot my wallet and only found a $10. They were super cool about it and worked some magic so I could get the pizza for $10. Had to nix the strings though :( Mini Hawaiian Pizza- 9 inches. Thought it looked really small but it ended up being the perfect size for a personal pizza. I have eaten here for 20 plus years and everything is always good but while waiting for my pickup order the other night I seen this amazing looking pizza put on the counter for the dinning room. I asked Vito what it was and he said the NEW Margarita pizza that he worked years on creating. Now Margarita is not really my favorite but this didn't look like the typical Margarita but looked so good that I was going to try it. Well when I went back the owner Vito blessed me with a beautiful Margarita and boy I'm a fan of this one. I sure love this place for many reasons! Number one, great food, number two, excellent customer service , and three...pizza is amazing! So much so that we ordered for a small get together of us and I had such a hard time deciding that I way over ordered our accompanying pizzas but I could not decide, they are all so good. My favorite is the Mediterranean! It's just spectacular. All of their pizzas are amply topped! I'm also quite partial to their blackened salmon salad but have heard rave reviews of this sandwiches and pasta from others we've dined alongside. Really good pizza! Had a really good, not great, experience at this gem of an establishment. Ordered the soup of the day as an app, tomato basil tortellini. It was decent, tasted a bit Chef Boyardi-ish but was good with the crackers that came with it. Pizza was the real selling point of Ricardo's. We got the large with pepperoni and sausage with extra tomato sauce. Very delectable! Added sauce was a real plus, not sure how it would be regular, but yum. Service was decent, but getting the check and card back was a bit of a task. Not sure if we just gave the vibe of 'leave us alone,' but either way it wasn't too big of an issue. Parking lot was full (strip mall area), but the door advertised immediate seating, which we got. Pretty neat feature if just driving by. Hi, this is Dominic the Food reviewer. Yesterday I went to Ricardo's Pizza - Greendale Village. It is located on 5627 Broad St. in Greendale WI. What i liked about the decor was that it was like an Italian bistro, and there was a tropical fish tank in there also. Our waitress Katie was nice and she did a nice job. What i had to eat at the restaurant was a fish fry. I got the fried fish w/ clam chowder soup, and coleslaw. I also had pizza with my fish fry. I thought my fish had light breading on it. It had light seasoning on my fish. It was delicious and fresh. My clam chowder soup was creamy, tasty. My colselaw was sweet, and crunchy. I thought my pizza was very good. My mom got the baked fish. She thought her baked fish was buttery, and fresh. My grandma got the fried fish w/ potato pancakes. She thought her potato pancakes were awesome. My dad got the cheese and sausage pizza, and he got fried mushrooms. He thought it was a delicious thin crust pizza, and the mushrooms tasted fresh. I would go back there again because I liked their fish fry so much. There are also a bunch of shops, restaurants, ice cream shop, and a fun park to play at near Ricardo's in the Village of Greendale. Also Ricardo's also owns Riverfront pizza which is another Italian restaurant that's located in the historic third ward in downtown Milwaukee. This is Dominic the Food reviewer. We wanted to take our family (6 adults and a 6 month old baby) out for pizza and to see the Christmas lights in the village on a Saturday (11/26/22 to be exact). Approached Ricardo's at approximately 5:00pm only to be greeted by a sign that said Parties of 5+ will only be seated after 8:45pm. Seriously? Going out for pizza is what families do. I don't know why I haven't written a review of this place yet. Have you ever had one of those places that you say you could eat everyday? This would be on the list for me. Who doesn't like pizza? Don't answer that question... Now on to the pizza, if you are a toppings lover this is the place for you. On their build your own pizza, you have 25 toppings choices. Yes, I did count them! This does not include their specialty pizzas, which have additional toppings. Their pizzas feature a thin crust, with a crispy edge. The sauce is a good combination of zest, without being spicy. They do offer other Italian favorites, lasagna, spaghetti, Italian sausage sandwich, and others to name a few. But when I go I tend to gravitate to the pizza. On Monday's from 5-8 p.m. for $8.99 they offer a pizza buffet. Now I will tell you this, don't plan on going here in when in a hurry. It is kind of hit or miss, but plan on a wait if dinning in. They also offer carryout for those in a bit of a rush. The dining area is a bit small, then do have a full bar you can sit at while you wait. But wait there's more...If you like their pizza they have a second restaurant in the 3rd Ward called Riverfront Pizzeria. Same great pizza, just a larger setting. read more

The owner personally sent us a gift certificate to make amends for the debacle of my first experience there. I have to say that the food was outstanding and that the server was am absolute professional. The owner personally came out and apologized again and was totally courteous, professional but also approachable and friendly. This update had been a long time coming and I apologise for that but I do highly recommend his locale and have. My rating is for the pizza. I rarely eat in the restaurant, except on Mondays during the buffet to try out all the different pizzas they make, and I've never tried any of their other dishes. If I had one criticism, it would be that the menu is too extensive - no reason to have anything other than the pizza on the menu because it's the best in the area by a long shot. Favorite is the diavolo pizza, which isn't on all of the menus. It's hot, but extremely tasty. Second favorite(s) is anything they have with their white sauce. Also, I lied about only eating pizza. The salads are excellent and the appetizers are standard pizza pub faire it you're extra-hungry. If you're in the Greendale area, this is a must-stop. read more

We went for dinner and got placed which was fine. The service was horrible. We got our drinks and our server who was getting trained by another lady never asked if we want a refill. We asked for our pizza with no mushrooms and of course they came with them. While we were eating no one I mean no one stopped by to check on us. Ask for a sassy Sara martini and have a pizza - any pizza - thats what put Ricardo's on the map - their yummy pizza; thinner crust, zesty sauce (finger licking really). They have other faire there as well - traditional appetizers (the fried eggplant strips are great); really good panini on tasty ciabatta bread; pasta dishes; big cheeseburgers and great red wine to wash it all down with. They have a small little outside eating area next to the village fountain. inside is nice, well lit in the dining area and a bit darker in the bar area. They usually close by 11 but will stay open longer if there are a lot of people having a good times.
