One of my favorite restaurants! We eat in or order take out 1-2 times per week. Would highly recommend and love that it's BYOB.

Tried this place out on a weekend. The wait was close to 40 minutes, so be prepared! We got the seafood drunken noodles, chicken pad Thai, the pineapple fried rice and the Tom yum and Tom kha soup! Worst to best: pad Thai - chicken was thinly sliced, the pad Thai was very dry and lacked a lot of flavor. I was very disappointed. It got better with the Pineapple fried rice which was good. The shrimp in every dish were jumbo which I could appreciate! The fried rice was good but again was missing something that could enhance the flavor. Next the seafood drunken noodles were very good! Great balance of the seafood and the noodles! Dish was saucy but not too much and was still moist and not too mushy. Best were the soup! Both were very very delicious and well made! This place is also overpriced for what we got which is also why I am rating a bit lower, definitely had a lot better Thai and for a more reasonable price. read more

My 9-year old insisted on reviewing this restaurant. Our family loves Thai food and just relocated to the are. We read great reviews on-line and had to try it out. My son had the spicy noodles with shrimp and said, "the spice is perfect, the noodles were yummy, the shrimp was the best I've ever had!" My husband shared the noodles with him and kept commenting on how flavorful they were. They also shared a spicy tuna roll that they loved. I ordered the Thai special with the fried egg and beef, and it was incredible. The servers were attentive and it was a great experience overall. We will definitely be back! read more

I've eaten here and ordered take-out quite a few times with family and friends. Definitely glad they opened up here in the neighborhood. I've always enjoyed my meals, trying different sushi rolls and entrees (Thai sweet & sour chicken, wasabi tuna, short ribs, green curry) every time. Just about every other dish ordered by my friends or family here has been raved about. When ordering takeout, entrees are always still hot when we get them home. The staff is always friendly and has grown from a rough beginning on timing in the early days. It's rather expensive, but the food is tasty, fresh and the flavors and execution are worth it. The atmosphere inside is peaceful and quiet most nights I've been here during the week. Check this place out if you're in the area so it stays open and I can eat there more! read more

Rice & Curry is a cool BYOB Thai restaurant that is listed as being located in Ambler, but it's technically Maple Glen. When you pull up to the restaurant, it's hard to tell what it looks like on the inside or if anyone is even in there because they have the curtains drawn for privacy. Once we walked in, I was surprised at how modern it was. We made reservations earlier that Saturday morning and we were taken to our table as soon as we arrived. We started with the tapas platter, which is a nice appetizer sampler that includes chicken sate, spring rolls, fresh rolls and dumpling. Normally, when I eat at Thai restaurants, I order Pad Thai. This time around, I wanted to try something a little bit different. I ordered a Poke Bowl. With the Poke Bowl, you choose your choice of rice (white or brown), meat and your "poke." I went with the Aloha Poke, which included pineapples and some other refreshing ingredients. It was good, but the only flaw is that it was not hot. When it arrived, it was just slightly above room temp, and I assume it was due to the pineapples. Next time, I'll go with the faithful Pad Thai. My wife was very happy with her Kra Pao Duck. I definitely plan to dine here again. There are a few items on the menu that I'd like to try. read more

This spot is a hidden gem. Even though we have only ordered takeout, the inside looks really nice and they appeared to be following all Covid protocols. They had sanitizer and sanitized pens at the reception area for my takeout food as well. This is a combo restaurant with Thai and sushi. The sushi is average in flavor, but was still fresh. Some of the combo rolls erred on the sweet side, but the basic crunchy spicy tuna roll was great. I also know I'm a little picky when it comes to my sushi, and even Morimoto in Philly still doesn't live up to Bluefin in the suburbs. There are some real winners here though. The basil fried rice with crab is delicious. It's the perfect combo of sweet and spicy, with great flavor and large pieces of lump crab meat. We tried the pad see ew which was a pleasant surprise. It had a wonderful flavor and texture- it was even a hit with the kids. We love a good pad Thai as well, and this one is ok. Not my favorite, but definitely still enjoyable with plenty of large shrimp that were perfectly cooked. I also have to say that we ordered the crispy shrimp and forgot to ask for the sauce on the side- a must when ordering food to go. I thought for sure we were going to get a mushy mess, but I was totally wrong. The shrimp were perfectly crispy (even 30 minutes later) and absolutely delicious. This is another "must have" when you're there. My daughter also really like the calamari (which we did order the sauce on the side for her). Again, it was light, crispy and not over cooked. We also ordered red Thai curry chicken, which was so yummy as well. I have to give a shout out for all the very fresh veggies in each dish as well, none of which were soggy or over cooked (which is hard to do with takeout especially). We really enjoy this place for takeout. My husband and I recently moved back to the area, and we've been on the search for solid Thai food. Huge fans of their curries, and poke bowls. I've had the Pad Thai before as well and it was good, but not my favorite. I wish they would off spice options through their takeout menu - I always want more spice! We were visiting Philly for the first time with my mom and kids and were craving thai food when we were in the suburbs - seeing friends. Rice & Curry was a gem. We were greeted warmly by the restaurant owner who also took the time to explain the menu and gave us recommendations. Everything on the platter was delicious. My son asked for extra serving of the dumplings- they were so good. I opted for the healthier choice / kinda and went with the fried tofus. They were very well cooked. Not greasy at all. The kids loved them. For entrees we had Pad Sa-eww chicken and crab fried rice. Both were very delicious. No need for extra seasoning. And the highlight of our dinner was the Poke bowl. First time for me and will be many more time soon. The sauce was out of this world delicious. The salmon was fresh and everything just blended in smoothly. So if you're the locals on Maple Glen or Ambler - this is one of the MUST try / go to place. read more

Impeccable service and great food. What could go wrong? We ordered chicken curry and seafood drunken noodle. Both platters were equally delicious in the right amount of proportion. There are many other options such as sushi and poke. It's nice to see someone has brought in a "Main line" like restaurant to Maple Glen. What an improvement! My husband and I stopped in last Thursday around 4 PM only to find out the restaurant was closed. They are closed between 3 and 5. We ate on a Saturday at 5PM. We were the first customers but the restaurant started to get quite busy as we finished up. Try their Thai iced tea. What's with all the glowing reviews? This restaurant should be ashamed of themselves having 3 Thai chefs and not able to produce not one authentic Thai dish. Ok. It's the burbs take away full authentic expectations, how are you able to screw up pad see ew? Chinese broccoli people. You can afford it. Restaurant is nice inside and staff is very good. Crispy duck appetizer served with burnt Mexican tortillas. Uh no. Bao bun are easy to get. Fried tofu was fine just not interesting. Cold rolls uninspired. Sent back the basil chicken it was a dry thick cut chicken breast with a gloppy red chili sauce that didn't taste homemade. Poke on the menu with thai . Huh? The place was full, so Maybe people in ambler don't know better or just don't care but I do care. I'm not expecting solid Thai food in the burbs but I expect the chefs to make an effort. In the era BC my wife and I found our way to Rice and Curry. Not particularly distinguished locale and venue .. sat outside with lovely views of the parking lot. The tornado had just been through so across the street had been hit. Notably they are located side by side with the liquor store so the BYO options turn out to be infinite with a 5 foot walk. The outside tables had lots of happy folks returning for their one of many meals. We are especially fond of Tom Ka Ghai ... and this was the first Pennsylvania place that did not muck it up. Their main dishes are nice ... It is what we are used to for Thai food in the US. in the era post Covid (PC) it has become go to for delivery for the lazy among us ... We rotate through the curries, have our TomKha Gai, and eat it all. Delivery is always before the designated time and seemless. This is a great place! read more

This is a wonderful find and great neighborhood restaurant! Every one is friendly and eager to please. We had a part of 12 and everything was delicious. Dumplings especially the shrimp were amazing! Sushi rolls were delicious and ordered it twice. Pineapple fried rice is delicious along with Chinese chicken cashews. A wonderful addition to the restaurants in the Maple Glen/Ambler area - this nice spot is in the former Pistachio Grill. We had a sushi roll and tuna poke bowl - both very fresh and delicious. We have had good food here in the past. NOT today! The worst basil fried rice ever! The rice was over cooked mash. The tofu was in huge , greasy, tasteless chunks. It was takeout unfortunately and so in the trash it went the restaurant offered to do nothing for us than talk to the cooks Big help. Not returning. read more

We just tried this place for the first time and it was AMAZING. It was very quiet, but it was 5pm on a Wednesday. The decor was contemporary and zen. It's the kind of place you could put on some heels for but jeans and sneakers are fine too. But now the good stuff: our food was BEAUTIFULLY plated. Almost didn't want to eat it because it was so visually pleasing! I got the green curry with chicken and it was delicious. Very spicy (bring a tissue!) but the flavor wasn't lost at all. My mom got the teriyaki chicken and was very impressed. My brother is a spicy tuna roll connoisseur (it's the only sushi he ever gets) and he said it was the best, freshest roll he's ever had. Now, I would've been happy leaving the night at that, after such a fantastic meal. BUT our sweet, friendly waiter told us he's been learning English and uses card tricks to practice. So he offered to do a few tricks with us! (Talk about working for that tip!) His tricks were actually very impressive (and so was his English!). Delicious food and entertainment?! We stopped here on the Saturday before Mother's Day for a lunch and we were delighted to have delicious food, excellent service and a very nice ambience. I ordered the green curry which had the perfect amount of spice and sweet. My husband got the pad thai which was recommended by someone just before we came here and was equally impressed. This is probably one of the best restaurants that has opened in Maple Glen in a while! The pad thai and the chilean sea bass is amazing. Also, the cashew chicken was great. Good not great. Service was very slow for the restaurant only being about 1/3 full. Pad Thai was thick/paste-like and too strong with tamarind. Sushi was overloaded with sauce (one came with spicy mayo and it looked like they poured a cup on top). While I commend a non-pizza-shop restaurant in the suburbs, they need to work on their service and flavors a bit more. read more
