Food: Really good! The flavor of the pho broth was rich, deep, perfectly balanced. Spring rolls and summer rolls were also quite good. Everything tasted super fresh and comforting and all the dishes headed to nearby tables looked delicious. Service: Good. Only nitpick is the one waitress seemed fascinated by my fancy friend so she ended up ordering everything for the table. We received all the accoutrements and our water glasses were refilled appropriately. Ambience: Bright and clean. A good number of parking spots, but looks like it could easily be challenging if the place is full. We didn't try any drinks at this visit but a plus is that we saw several people bringing their own wine-so it's apparently a BYOB. I was in the Willow Grove Mall area and wanted to get some Pho and Vietnamese iced coffee. This is the pho place I have been searching for. This review is only for their beef pho. I did not need to add anything to the broth except for sriracha and hot oil because I like it spicy. Usually I would need to add fish sauce or soy sauce because there would always be missing something that I can't quite figure out. But this place perfected their broth. The iced coffee was bitter and mildly sweet - just how I like it! Staff were very friendly and engaging and place was very clean. I have driven by Pho Ben City hundreds of times. I stopped by for pho and banh mi. At the register, my total was double what I expected from online menu photos. I asked the gentleman about these things, and he said prices changed. I asked for a menu, but he said the order has not arrived. I stopped in tonight and ordered the Brisket Pho thinking it would be relatively quick since it was a take out order. Well I was wrong it took 45 minutes! That is extremely long and if I had known I wouldn't have came in. So I said well since it took so long the food must be great. Wrong once again. The broth was not flavorful and was not hot. The amount of brisket you get for $15 my 8 year old child could finish and still be hungry. Very small portion of meat. I was left with a bunch of bean sprouts and noodles and no meat left. So, heard good things about this place from a friend, and we walk in and see the waiter from one of our favorite pho places in the city (Pho Xe Lua, "choo choo")! We've gone to Pho Xe Lua since the late 90s, and it has always been one of our favorite places to go, and it was such a trip to see the same waiter at this seemingly random pho place in Abington! I've driven by this place multiple times and have never stopped in. My coworker and I were craving bà ví, and this was the closest place that makes it. We stopped in around noon. The place is small, 15 tables maybe? It wasn't busy and we were seated immediately. We placed our order, but it took almost 45 minutes for it to come out. I assume that no one really orders it so they don't have it on hand, unlike pho. The entree is a sharing size, usually comes with thin vermicelli, beef wrapped betel leaves (bò lá lt), grilled pork patties (nem nng), sugar cane shrimp (cho tôm) and a bunch of fresh herbs. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because they ran out of the sugar cane shrimp, and they give fish sauce instead of mm nêm, the usual dipping sauce. Overall, very delicious. I woke up with a craving for pho. This scratched it, but barely. I had the deluxe pho and spring rolls. The key to great pho is great broth and this was just ok. It was by no means bad, but it was lacking in a certain depth of flavor. Spring rolls were fine. Nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about. It took about 45 minutes for my takeout order to be ready, which I'm not really sure I understand. The restaurant was fairly empty and there isn't really anything that needed to be cooked except for the spring rolls--the pho just had to be assembled. One note: When you order rare beef here they give it to you on the side completely raw. The idea is that the broth cooks it. After reviewing the menu, I ordered steak and brisket pho without cilantro. Once the pho cane out it was nicely presented and steaming hot. The broth had a good flavor and the meat was fresh. I couldn't eat all of mine so I asked for a to go container. The waiter took my pho to the kitchen and packed it all in a container. I was a little disappointed because I wanted to separate the noodles to prevent them from becoming soggy. Let's just say I couldn't eat the leftovers. Granted I do not expect much from Asian restaurants in the suburbs of PA since it is usually very Americanized to cater towards the suburb crowd.
