I just like to pop in and rehype this place up. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The place is clean and beautiful and has a nice cozy vibe and best of all the food is DELICIOUS!! My favorite currently is the ground basil chicken. We order from work at least twice a month and I come here for my home as well. This is one of my top 3 restaurants in the Central Valley!!

Ground chicken basil stir fried egg

This spot blew away my expectations! Hands down best Thai restaurant in Fresno. We came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch with a reservation for a group of us for my mom's birthday. We had a toddler with us and they provided a high chair. The staff were so friendly and attentive and gave us their recs. We went with the chili garlic edamame and papaya salad to start with. Both are pretty spicy and pack a decent kick even at mild spice so be prepared. Both were excellent. For the entrees we ordered the Thai fried rice, ground chicken basil stir fried with fried egg, and panang curry with chicken, and chicken pad Thai. White rice included. The ground chicken was a Thai dish I haven't tried before and with the fried egg this thing was delicious and so fragrantly aromatic that I had to have more. The panang curry was a bit on the sweeter side but still wonderfully coconutty and tasty. The fried rice was pretty standard and the pad Thai was also on the sweeter side but still really tasty. Even family style between 6 adults 4 entrees and 2 apps was a good portion of food with some leftovers. Overall - highlight is get the ground chicken basil stir fried egg chef's special. Portions are stellar and prices are solid. Highly recommend and definitely will come back next time I'm in Fresno! Wish I took more photos of the food but I was busy scarfing food down.

Food is 5 out of 5. (Yes, for once I'm jumping right in, so just shut it, okay!?!) We picked up the CRYING TIGER for $23.50. As stated on their menu: Juicy marinated beef steak grilled to perfection. Served with a side of sticky rice, spicy dipping sauce and mango salad. Ours was to perfection as they stated, went wonderfully with the sticky rice, and the flavor was taken to another extraordinary place when dipping. Best thing (to me) about the sauce was that it was NOT fishy at all! The mango salad was very good, my only complaint is the high barrier to entry with this price. Beyond that, we were seated immediately, the service was good and consistent, and the guest noise can be moderate to loud. Seating WILL get limited so be prepared for that. They have a clean restroom, a major plus in this kind of strip mall. I give this a 4.6 out of 5. Will revisit to try their other items and provide a more robust review.

Thai tea and cucumber refresher

Stumbled upon this restaurant for lunch after a walk at the park. The order: papaya salad in Thai style which was refreshing! Just what I wanted, something with crunch and acidity. I really recommend this dish here. We also got the Crying Tiger that came with the sliced steak that was tender and not chewy, side of thinly sliced mango that paired so nicely with the dish and added an element of sweetness, and finally a dipping sauce on the side as well. Lastly, we go a stir fry basil beef dish that had a nice aroma of basil in it, lathered in sauce, and I liked the bamboo in the dish as well. Beef was cooked nicely and not tough, my kids loved it. Our waitress was very attentive and checked on us. She was great! The restaurant was low/moderate in noise, clean and tidy, decor is minimal and highlights the culture of Thai style food. Restroom is clean for guest to use. Overall, food was amazing! Will be coming back for sure.

Really disappointed that I spent $28 on this meal. I ordered my steak rare to medium rare, but it came out completely well done and overcooked. I wanted to try something different today, but unfortunately it was a letdown.

Red Curry with Shrimp and Fresh Basil Leaves with Shrimp and Veggies

AMAZING!!! The best Asian meal I've ever had in Fresno! I ordered the Edamame appetizer, the lunch special, which consisted of the Red Curry with shrimp and the Thai Basil Leaves, and the Sticky Rice with Mango for dessert. Everything was fantastic. The food was hot, boldly flavorful, and pleasantly spicy. Speaking of spice, I like a lot of it and the med. level of spice was just right for me. Condiments are available to make food spicier. I'm going again ASAP and will be ordering the Drunken Noodles. Highly recommend!!! Rice Barn has become my favorite Thai restaurant. There's no need to go anywhere else. Oh, and the service? Polite, professional, and attentive. The atmosphere was conducive to pleasant conversation. I appreciated the absence of any TV screens and loud music. Portions were plentiful. I'm going to enjoy a whole meal again.

Finally got to try this small new Chinese restaurant. Had the drunken noodles with shrimp. Sides of fried tofu and garlic green beans. Large portions, the food was delicious and the service was second to none. Would certainly come back again and try some of their many other dishes on the menu. Smallish in size, but they handle it well.

Spicy edamame, pad kra pao and chicken laab (already dug into everything, oops!)

We decided to drop by for lunch around 12pm on a Wednesday. We got seated right away since only one other party was there. The inside was pretty small but very cute. They did well with the space they had. About 20 minutes later the place got packed with guests and take out orders so I'd say arriving right at noon helped beat the traffic. Their menu was full of great options, I had a hard time deciding. We ended up getting the spicy edamame, shrimp spring rolls, pad kra pao, and chicken laab. I really wish they would've gave us a little warning here because this was entirely too much food for my husband and I. Their portions are huge for their entrees, but also helps justify the price a bit because this lunch did cost us about $65-70. Anyway, here is a quick rating on our dishes: Spicy edamame 10/10 - my husband he thought this was delicious but it was not spicy at all. Shrimp spring rolls 9/10 - it was tasty and fresh. Just a bit on the pricy side to me. I believe it's almost $14 for two spring rolls. Pad kra pao 10/10 - my husband also loved this but thought the same thing as his edamame. Great taste but it was not spicy at all even though that's what he specified. Chicken laab 8.5/10 - I really enjoyed this dish because it's SOUR. If you're not a fan of sour this won't be the dish for you. I asked for this medium spice but again it was almost non-existent. If I could change anything, I'd put a lot more toasted rice powder in and keep the lettuce separated from the dish. Their laab is pretty liquidy so lettuce got soggy faster. Overall, we will be back. The service was great and the food had nice flavors. The only thing I'd change here is their spice levels!

Tried for the first time this past week and I'm excited to plan my next visit. So. Dang. Good. A girlfriend and I decided to meet up after not seeing each other in a while and we both LOVE Thai food and decided to give them a try. We saw a few social media videos and so we were very excited. The restaurant was so cute and has about 8-10 table set ups. Interior was lovely and lighting was perfect. We sat at the window with a cushioned bench and it was perfect. There was about two servers and they were really sweet. We arrived around 4pm and they had a rush around 5pm with two larger parties for a special reservation. Before we knew it, it was packed and poppin. We ordered; Lao style papaya salad - 10/10 Drunken noodle w/ shrimp - 9/10 Yellow curry w/ shrimp - 9/10 Side of rice Hot tea pot Menu is large so I'll be back to try more yummy dishes and that papaya salad!

A quaint little neighborhood place that opened up six months ago. Clean and nice decor. Food was fresh and on the lighter side. If you're looking for mild flavor on a healthier side then this is your place. If you're are looking for authentic Thai flavors that have your tastebuds dancing, this is not it. I wanted it to be the smoky pungent flavors of authentic Thai cuisine but this falls short. Still a cute place and great service.

Sinny S.

3- Solid Location, but needs a flavor reboot (Too Much MSG!) Giving this place 3- stars due to quick service, but the food seriously missed the mark due to an overwhelming taste of MSG. The flavor balance was off, and everything tasted overly salty and dull. The Drunken Noodle and the curry sauce for the Roti were just okay, nothing special. The Pad Thai was the biggest disappointment--unbalanced flavor. The tofu dish was terrible; thin and hard. Suggestion: They need to drastically cut back on the seasoning (MSG) and improve the preparation of staples like the tofu.

Papaya salad, my absolute favorite! So extremely fresh and you can taste all the different flavors. Very bright and refreshing.
Marjon M.

The food was great. It's a casual environment but nice. Service was nice. I ordered a few dishes but my dining mates were so hungry I was only able to get a picture of 2 of the dishes. Lots of flavor and very fresh. We ordered chili garlic edamame, fresh shrimp roll, Pad Thai, and a papaya salad. Definitely will be returning.

Ok this place is a yes!! I was not super excited when they first opened cause the last place was my favorite Vietnamese restaurant and I was so sad to see it go. Then I started to see some of the reviews and photos and know I needed to try it out. I was bummer when we went they were out of the meat for the crying tiger . Yet was pleasantly surprised by what we did get.. Fresh roll with shrimp $13.95- 4/5, I loved the freshness of the roll with all the veggies but I was missing not having a bit of noodles in the roll like you normally get . Also it would be amazing if they add a more fish sauce/ vinegar base dipping sauce and maybe mix the two sauces the do serve with it together and would definitely put this up there with one of my favorite spring rolls Drunken noodles w/ chicken $15.95- 4/5, this was yum and I would get again Beef salad $18.50- 5/5 this was amazing!!! I used the sauce that was left over to but on the drunken noodles lol. The beef was cooked just right and not tough. The veggies were fresh and that sauce!! Definitely going to get again. The restaurant itself is small but they have really done a nice job of redoing the interior and making it inviting. The staff was awesome and was really helpful when I had questions and totally thankful that he steered me to get the beef salad.

Idk. *shrugs* This time we got: Pad Kra Pao, Pad Se-Ew (beef), Yellow Curry (chicken), and Thai Style Papaya Salad for dinner. We each had a different favorite dish out of the three entrees... Pad Se-Ew was mine (noodle head), followed by the Pad Kra Pao (perfect flavor, not too strong on the basil, egg fried just right), then the curry last (I prefer green or red more). The salad was good, refreshing. No spice whatsoever, but we knew that (one of the girls can't handle as much spice). The winner of our dinner? The Thai Tea Flight! I love the option of flights anywhere I go. It gives you the chance to try all the flavors you're curious about without committing to one that you may or may not like. Man... these were amazing. If I had to rank the flavors-- it was a toss-up between the Original Thai Tea and the Ube but since this is the battle of the Thai Teas... the OG gets a slight edge. Both freaking amazing though (we ordered full sizes of these after). Obviously Thai Iced Coffee comes next but coffee should be it's own category. It wins on its own as coffee. The Green Thai Tea came in last for all 3 of us, I believe. It's good, just not as good as the other three... and it's definitely more fragrant? Idk the right word for it. Anyway, I'd make more stops here just for these drinks alone now that i know how good they are. Staff was amazing. Friendly. Attentive. Restaurant still very aesthetic. Their plating of the meals? A+. It was a very good dinner.
