I love Thai cuisine but often times the flavor from restaurant to restaurant seems the same. I was told that their recipe originates from northern Thailand. I honestly don't know what makes the regions different but the store manager stated they are more authentic versus others that incorporate a fusion style of Thai food. Ordered the Chicken Satay, Papaya Salad and Pad Thai. What stood out for me was the Chicken Satay. Although common in other Thai restaurants, the satay was the most flavorful and can honestly say are one of the better dishes compared to others that I've had at other restaurants. I had stopped by to pick up some dinner. When I was leaving my front bumper got caught on the parking curb and I didn't realize it when I parked initially, leading to my bumper getting torn off completely (don't judge me lol). I had gone back inside and asked if I could get some help. I felt bad because it was kind of busy. The owner Wilson came out and helped me get it and attempt to get it in my car but ultimately it didn't fit. He reassured me it seemed to be an easy fix and what I would need to get it back together. My husband ended up coming with a bigger car to get the front bumper and bringing it home. I'm so grateful for Wilson for taking time and not making me feel like a bother even though it was busy and my problem wasn't his problem but he came to help without any hesitation. When I got home the food was all still hot after all of the delay. I ordered over $120 worth of food and it was all delicious. The red curry I added potatoes to it was my favorite. But what made my experience even better this time is Wilson's kindness and comfort. We came in at 5 pm and the place was empty. We were greeted right when we walked in, seated and provided a menu. Our server was really sweet and helpful. The restaurant was very clean and spacious. It had a lot of natural lighting which was good! There were so many dishes we wanted to try but didn't want to over order. We ended up ordering their fried tofu, Beef salad, beef padseeew, and the Thai chicken wings. Everything came out at a timely manner. Fried Tofu - 2.5/5 - Needs more flavoring. Maybe a dash of salt and pepper would've done it. For the sauce, there was a very strong vinegar taste. I would've preferred it with just the sweet and sour sauce. Beef salad - 4/5 The dish was very good. There just were too much onions for my liking. Once you get to the bottom of the dish, the sauce becomes very overpowering and salty. Thai Chicken Wing - 5/5 - this dish came out crispy with the right amount of sauce and flavoring. The chicken itself was still moist. Beef PadSeeEw- 4/5 - This dish came out last. It was good but needed a bit more flavoring. We loved that you can taste the "char" in the dish since most places here in fresno, you can't. This is one of my favorite quick-and-easy Thai places! We ordered our food for pick up. The lady was very nice on the phone and it wasn't hard at all to place it. When we walked into the establishment, there were a few people there. The environment was calm and clean. Parking was easy to find up front. Lots of open seats. We ordered the pad Thai, drunken noodles, and pad see ew for entrees. Each was delicious! Additionally, the food had to have just been cooked because when we got the food it was freshly hot, which was a very pleasant experience. For the Pad See Ew combination, some of the shrimps were weirdly small, so it made it hard to remove the tails from them. But outside of that, everything was perfect. The chicken wings are always my favorites. They are crispy and sweet, and very well cooked. The fried tofu was also cooked to perfection, just the right amount of crispiness! The sauce that comes with it is also DELISH! The banana samosas were a wonderful alternative to their mango sticky rice which is served in the summer. The samosas were beautifully wrapped and fried to a perfect crisp. I was worried the chocolate sauce would be too overpowering but it was perfect! Yes, yes, and yes. Tonight we tried the Thai Papa Salad, Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Satay and the Crab Fried Rice. Everything was wonderful. The papaya salad was the perfect blend of crunchy and tart and spicy. The dressing used was perfect. The salad had the perfect amount of heat. The chicken pad Thai was so good. Our sat on the table for a little while because we were all talking, but no matter how long it's sit the noodles were perfect. The texture did not change. The coconut soup was so good. That was my first time having it and the entire time I was eating it I kept thinking I would definitely have that again. The crab fried rice was filled with chunks of crab. The restaurant was clean, the staff was so nice, the shift came out to say hi to everyone. He was so nice and is truly talented when it comes to cooking. The restrooms were clean. The staff was very attentive and answered all of our questions. I will 100% be going again in the very near future. I was here last night with the Yelp event and had to come back to order more for my family. I got an order of the crab fried rice which I had tried last night and loved the real crab meat and flavor. Wished it had a few more veggies in it. I also ordered chicken fried rice which had a nice portion of meat in it. Chicken green Curry was a medium spice and I thought that was perfect. The chicken and veggie amounts were perfect. And the last thing I ordered was the Panang Chicken Curry, Mild which to me is a little similar in taste as the green curry and was also very delicious. My parents were pretty happy with the choices. I'll have to get some Pad Thai and try some items with Tofu. Maybe next week! read more

Thai Wok & Cafe is the perfect casual spot to get Thai food in west Fresno. They have a spacious interior with plenty of seating (and it's always clean), everything is made-to-order, and the staff themselves are really nice. I ordered their Pad Thai with beef, and I've also had the chance to try their crispy pork belly appetizer and strawberry green tea with lychee jelly. The Pad Thai with beef was fantastic, and hit all the right flavor notes. Juicy, hearty beef topping perfectly-chewy rice noodles in a slighty sweet and salty sauce. The crispy pork belly was delicious - I'm not sure what the green sauce they serve it with is, I think it's some sort of chili sauce, but that just added everything that the pork belly needed. It was a little plain by itself, but still good. The strawberry green tea was really the cherry (or I should say, "strawberry") on top. One of the managers, Wilson, told me they actually use a sugarcane-based syrup, and that really made a difference. It tasted a lot less artificial, and I honestly crave it a lot despite living across town. (Got to try their passion fruit tea later!) I got to chat with some of the other staff, and they are kind and take good care of their patrons. First of all, the service was wonderful. The owner was genuine and we even saw his cousin who was the chef. The staff were so generous and accommodating too. I also really liked all the cool Halloween decorations! The food was absolutely amazing. Thai tea was the perfect welcome drink. Always a favorite! Then I had chicken satay which had a smoky flavor with a hint of mint taste. The papaya salad was fresh and bright with a lime dressing (very refreshing to eat!). Then I had Tom Kha which had a satisfying coconut flavor with sourness from lime I think. It had shrimp, mushroom, and tomato wedges in it that gave it such a unique flavor profile. I really want to go back and eat that again. The pad Thai noodles were my favorite! The noodles were chewy and delicious. The flavor was spot on. The fried rice was also really good. Loved it. Greeted immediately as we entered at 715 on a Saturday night, almost full with 2 empty tables, and waited for 1 to be cleaned before we sat. Saw 2 servers while there a lot people for 2. Service was a bit slow but we weren't in a hurry and didn't care, if you want a lot of attention might not be right for you, but you'll miss out on the food. Drinks arrived slowly and without straws, you'll have to ask. Straws took a minute to come, again 2 people for a whole restaurant. Coke is a can, FYI. App came next chicken satay, good, peanut sauce is the best I've ever had, so good. Entrees, big, yellow curry chicken was great lots of flavor big potatoes, carrots, and delicious sauce. I was a bit surprised to see how little food they serve with the prices they charge. The Thai Beef salad, papaya salad & chicken larb had little protein compared to the amount of veggies served. I love onion but the amount served in the larb was extensive, I had to pick them out. The pad see ew & mango sticky rice was also VERY salty. As for the other dishes we ordered like the crispy pork, Thai wings, pad Thai, yellow curry, and crab fried rice, the flavors were there, just smaller portions than I'm used to when ordering in Socal. The flavor was unbalanced - way too tangy and overly sweet, which overpowered any of the traditional savory elements you'd expect from Pad Thai. On top of that, it was excessively peanut buttery. I usually prefer a more subtle peanut undertone, but this tasted like straight-up liquid peanut butter, which made the entire dish feel heavy and one-dimensional. The tofu itself was disappointingly plain, with no real seasoning or sear to help it stand out. It felt more like they tossed the tofu in afterwards because it did not taste like it had any sauce nor seasoning on it. Overall, the execution just didn't come together for me. Here for a review on a recommendation for its service and food. My wife and I shared a Thai Papaya salad along with an order of Drunken noodles. The salad was fresh, crunchy and delicious. The Drunken noodles was also good but lacking in quantity compared to other Thai restaurants I've been to otherwise a good dish. Also ordered a Lychee Fruit Tea with boba with a sweetness level you can choose from 0-100%, my drink was 25% and still pretty sweet. I live down the street so of course I had to give this place a try. There's plenty of parking but sometimes the lot can be tricky to get in to. There's plenty are 2 entrances to the lot. 1 on marks and the other on Shaw. We were greeted right away by a nice lady who sat us at a clean table. She brought us water with a smile on her face. After a while she came to take our order and didn't even have to write it down. She took 3 orders by memory and recited them back to us. I was impressed! We decided on the Thai wings, drunken noodles and the pad Thai. I wish the food had matched the wonderful service but I'm sad to say flavor was lacking. The drunken noodles were dry and the pad Thai was scant. The Thai wings were crunchy and sweet but lacking in umami and spice. The place is clean. The bathroom is stocked. I have been here a couple times now. The food and service is good. The staff seem excited about the food. The food for me has been hit and miss. The first time we ate here the food was very over salted and we couldn't finish it. The second time the food was actually closer to the bland side and we were underwhelmed with some of the dishes. However, I was very happy with the crab fried rice, the papaya salad, and the coconut soup. Those three stood out to me from what we ordered and I'd probably stick to those going back. The order: I got the Pork Jerky which was the best of the 3 items I got. It was savory and literally jerky like. I wished I got some sticky rice on the side to pair with it. The Tom Yum Soup was sad to say, was very very salty. I have had Tom yum soup before and I know everyone may make it a little differently, but this soup was so salty I couldn't finish it. I had to drink lots of water in between. I don't know if it was boil down too much making it so salty or someone was too heavy handed on seasoning. Not only was it salty, but it was REALLY acidic. The final item I got was the beef salad, and that fell a little short in terms of flavor. Everything was there, the cucumber and tomatoes were fresh and the beef was cooked nicely, but there was barely any flavor. So overall, disappointed in the food. I just moved to the area and was chatting with my new neighbors last night about where to eat. They immediately said, "You have to try Thai Wok!" so of course, I had to check it out for lunch today. I called ahead to ask what could be made vegan, and they were so accommodating -- basically everything I asked about could be made vegan! I ordered the green curry and the pad Thai, both with fried tofu, and WOW. The flavors were incredible, perfectly balanced, and the medium spice had the exact right kick. Girls day out (party of 3) and we were told we could sit anywhere. They have a nice selection under their drink menu. With adjustable sweetness levels. We all got 3 milk tea thai boba. It came out quick and in cute Baymax cup toppers. And our server was the cutest she even brought out color coordinated straws to match the color of our cups. The milk tea was good and not too sweet and the boba was soft. The ice was small nuggets chewable size (the best kind). The menu is simple with a great variety. I ordered my typical go to food when I eat Thai food; drunken noodles and I usually get red curry but mistakenly said yellow with a side of rice. My sister and best friend got pad thai and fried rice. Everything came out hot and fairly quickly. The food was AMAZING. Honestly one of the best Thai food I've had. Every dish flavor was on point. The ingredients were fresh. They offer different proteins extra charge for beef/ shrimp or a combo. They also offer different spice levels for some of the dishes that have spice. Knowing Thai food they get pretty spicy so I left my dishes at a mild and it was perfect!!! The portions were good for the price. We had so many left overs and some of their to-go containers were a bit small and had to ask for more. Overall it was a wonderful experience! I'm glad to see a Thai spot on this side of town. Came here on a Saturday night an hour before closing, it seemed like a slow night. Two tables. But the food came super fast. It didn't feel like even 10 minutes. Fresh and hot. Pad Thai: it was sweet and tangy. A good balance. I do wish it was a tad bit more saltier, just a bit. My choice was protein was beef. I wasn't a fan of the beef. It was chewy and kind of gamey. The beef was cooked separately and didn't absorb any of the sauce from the pad thai. With beef (3.5/5) without beef (4/5) Papaya salad: the papaya salad was good. I asked for it to be extra sour. It was sour with a slight sweetness. They added a lot of green beans. Not a fan of that. It adds too much sweetness. They also added lettuce into the salad, that was a first. Usually it's a side of cabbage. W/beans (3.5/5).
