this was the first time trying this place. We went at the lunchtime hour. Place with well decorated. Their service is very friendly. Did take a while for our food to come out, which was discouraging because people who came in after us got their food before us. They probably could've used one more waitress. But the food was delicious. It's worth a try. I had never had Thai food before. The portion sizes are humongous. I will definitely visit it again.

We were craving pho but also wanted to try something new and this spot popped up. The restaurant is near Riverpark and had plenty of tables inside and plenty of parking outside. Our server was really kind and gave us tons of recommendations! The restaurant was also really clean. The pho and spring rolls both tasted super fresh. The pho broth was delicious and not overly salty. We will be back!

Was invited on a business lunch to try this restaurant. As soon as I walked in I got the feeling I was in vacation in another country. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. They offer seating for small or large groups. The staff was friendly and helped me find a dish to try. I got a Tofu curry and it was amazing! I also got the tofu (chicken nuggets) as an appetizer and I can't stop thinking about them. I saw the table next to me order a large platter that had many items, great for large groups.

Last time I came here was wonderful. The food was amazing!!! Well everything but the khao mun gai lol. I usually love that dish cus it's such a simple dish and a very comforting one IMO... WELL came with my girls for a bite to eat. Sec did a family style kinda vibe where we ordered and shared dishes.. cousin ordered the pork belly stir fried with the greens. Idk what it's called one menu but it's so fuckin good!!! Better than the one I had on the east side.. It was actually perfect IMO. Good amount of pork belly and greens ratio. Not salty at all. Idk if it comes with rice but she did have steamed rice with her. My other cousin ordered nam khao and that shit was perfection!!!! Absolutely love love love their nam khao!! Perfect amount of crispy rice. I would've loved a lot more fried dried chilis since I love spicy but that's about the only complaint for me. Ngl.. besides my nieces homemade one, this is one of thee best nam khao I have ever had. Texture and flavor wise. Eating it with the lettuce, mint and fried chilis is a MUST!! Oh and don't forget to squeeze some lime for that balance of flavors! She also ordered an omelette. This is close to home for me cuz we grew up eating these egg omelettes that has garlic and green onion mixed in it. So can't go wrong with that. Very much a comfort food. My friend ordered the fried chicken wings and I was actually surprised by the crispness and flavor!! So delicious! The flavor and crunch just explodes in your mouth. Not dry at all!!! The sauce also complements it. Ok now as for what I ordered... it wasn't bad but it wasn't what I expected either!! Ik they can do better cus I didn't have it like this before. The chicken pieces that came out looked more like it was for the khao piak noodles soup.. it wasn't originally how khao mun gai supposed to look. The sauce is good, the rice is just decent but the chicken pieces was very disappointing. Other than that service was A1!! Good af per usual and I would definitely come back! Just don't switch up the nam khao recipe please!!!

Wow, just wow. This place has so much flavor! Just atmosphere, nice people, and just a fun place to grab a bite to eat. I went here for an event and just The spring rolls were tasty. Perfectly fresh crisp lettuce, fresh mint, and fresh perfect noodles. I can't say enough of fresh and tasty these were. The peanut sauce was rich and think with a slight sweet flavor. Very nice. The bao buns, has crispy bread, with a I nice mix of veggies, and this tasty sweet sesame mayo that ties it all together. The sausages were my favorite. I was amazed at how many herbs and flavors they managed to pack in a single sausage. But it was incredible. The service was great, because the owner helped us. She's kind and just happy to host. Honestly, this place was so good, I just can't wait to go back.

If you love Southeast Asian food, you have to try this restaurant! The location is excellent, with plenty of parking available. The servers I encountered were all extremely friendly and helpful with recommending menu items. This restaurant is casual and the ambience pays tribute to street vendors you'd experience in Southeast Asia. I ordered the crispy pork belly, chicken red curry, sticky rice, and soft shell crab fried rice. All of items were delicious! The standout of the meal was the crispy pork belly, it was complimented by a spicy, vinegar based sauce. I'm so happy that Fresno has these amazing restaurants that offer a glimpse of the beauty of other countries & cultures. This is what makes America great!

This is by far the closest restaurant that serves delicious authentic Lao/Thai food. Everything tastes exactly like a home cooked meal. The ambiance's beautiful they have paintings and chandeliers that look like a thip khao! The service was 10/10! the owner is so sweet and I'll come back again for sure!

Lunch combo, $20 for lunch size choice of protein (crispy pork belly) with Thai style papaya salad and comes with a side of sticky rice

Service is really good and friendly. Clean, nice decor and ambiance. Food is well seasoned and price is suitable considering location of Fresno. Pad Thai is a red tamarind base style. Crispy pork belly was perfectly cooked, love that the combo also comes with sticky rice. Beef larb was perfectly seasoned, a little heavy on toasted rice powder but it comes down to preference, still refreshing and balanced. Just wished it also came along side with a wedge of cabbage.

I just spent a lot of time in Thailand and when I got home I started a mission to find authentic Thai food. Mostly boat noodles and mango sticky rice. This was my first stop on this quest. I ordered the boat noodles, crispy pork and papaya salad. Don't get me wrong. The food here is really good. But it just didn't hit that mark for me. For American Thai food this place is soooo good. The staff is great and place is nice and clean. Very modern. Price is a little on the higher side. I paid $20 for boat noodles. But then again I have to remember that I am back home. The boat noodles missed the mark but overall was a good dish. It was fresh and a decent portion. The pork was really good. Cooked perfectly and had a nice crunch. The papaya salad was fresh and was the tasty. Really spicy which I enjoyed. I will be back because they had other items I wanted to try

Gold platter! $100 super worth it.

Shout out to the owner for accommodating our large group in such short notice. I've tried their food once for take out and I was already impressed with their food. Staff was great and food came out really fast! We ordered the gold platter, that fed all 16 of us. Even had left overs. I ordered their kao piak, Thai boat, nam khao, tom kueng nai (innard soup), raw beef laab, calamari, meatball pho and tom yum soup. Everything was pretty tasty. The platter we order, I honestly wish there was more papaya salad. The papaya was good but it wasn't the lao style I wanted and it was very skimpy, lots of meat and everything else but papaya could be more and spicer and funkier. Kao piak taste good , thai boat was ok, the innard soup was kind of bland and wasn't a little bitter like I asked and a small is really a small soup bowl. Tom yum broth was great. Pho was good. Nam khao and the raw beef laab were my favorite but the nam khao was one of the best things we ordered. It's really hard to find a good tasting, crispy not soggy nam khao around Fresno and here it really hit the spot! I didn't get pictures inside because I was too hungry and there was a lot of people dining in. Inside is like a open kitchen you can see everything and the walls had paintings of Laos, love that. Restrooms are clean. Everything was great , it is pricey though compared getting the same type of food on my side of town. Overall it's yum!

this honestly my favorite place to go eat at. it feels like home. all the food and everything is amazing. my favorite dish is the platter it reminds me of home, growing up my family use to to this on the platter and we would eat together.

This is my 2nd time trying this place and the food makes me feel at home. I came here on a Saturday for lunch with my aunt and cousins. We had 1 toddler as well. It was busy but we were able to get seated pretty fast. We ordered: Papaya salad platter Khao Poun Lao Pho Pad Si Ew Drunken Noodles/Pad Ki Mao All the food was really good. You can't go wrong with any of the pan fried noodle dishes. Soup is good all year round (even when it's hot). The papaya salad platter had a little bit of everything so that was nice. A good appetizer for a table of 4. The place is casual. Waiters were busy so it did take a while for us to get our bill and check out. I love that this place is near River park (just across blackstone). Will for sure be going back.

    Thai boat
    Dang Y.

Very nice and clean place, food does come slower. Water refills don't really come. Best Thai boat in Fresno, it has brisket, steak, tendon, meatball, liver at times, tripe. Service is nice and friendly but could use some work, but maybe it's just that my expectations for them was at a higher standard because of the area they're at. Compared to regular pho spots, u get smiles here but no water refills. They do tell u to let them know if u need anything else to notify them but there not around.

Grilled chicken is so flavorful and juicy, even without the dipping fish sauce

Idk. *shrugs* This time we got: Pad Kra Pao, Pad Se-Ew (beef), Yellow Curry (chicken), and Thai Style Papaya Salad for dinner. We each had a different favorite dish out of the three entrees... Pad Se-Ew was mine (noodle head), followed by the Pad Kra Pao (perfect flavor, not too strong on the basil, egg fried just right), then the curry last (I prefer green or red more). The salad was good, refreshing. No spice whatsoever, but we knew that (one of the girls can't handle as much spice). The winner of our dinner? The Thai Tea Flight! I love the option of flights anywhere I go. It gives you the chance to try all the flavors you're curious about without committing to one that you may or may not like. Man... these were amazing. If I had to rank the flavors-- it was a toss-up between the Original Thai Tea and the Ube but since this is the battle of the Thai Teas... the OG gets a slight edge. Both freaking amazing though (we ordered full sizes of these after). Obviously Thai Iced Coffee comes next but coffee should be it's own category. It wins on its own as coffee. The Green Thai Tea came in last for all 3 of us, I believe. It's good, just not as good as the other three... and it's definitely more fragrant? Idk the right word for it. Anyway, I'd make more stops here just for these drinks alone now that i know how good they are. Staff was amazing. Friendly. Attentive. Restaurant still very aesthetic. Their plating of the meals? A+. It was a very good dinner.

The compound tofu was very flavorful. It wasn't mushy. The tofu was firm and all the seasonings paired well with it. The dude enjoyed his meal with the steak and purple rice. The rice was pretty good. I did not try the steak as I'm not vegetarian. But he really enjoyed it as it was butterfly pea rice. Our cocktails were delicious. Balanced not too sweet. It hit the spot. We were very impressed with this place and really enjoyed our time here all the flavors popped in every dish we had was delicious even the appetizer of the spring rolls. Very crunchy light and not greasy. Overall, this was a great spot to grab a delicious meal, date night, or celebrate. I would come just to come again definitely will be back.

We got there around 11:30 AM, and it wasn't busy at all, which was a huge plus! We got seated right away, and our server was super sweet and answered all of our questions. We started with the Thai tea, and I'm so glad we did because it was SO good! It was refreshing, and I'd definitely order it again. I ordered the Lunch Combo Special ($19), which came with two veggie egg rolls, Pad Thai, Panang chicken curry, and your choice of potato soup or salad. I went with the potato soup. It came with half of a potato in a broth, and honestly, it was way better than I expected! It had a lot of flavor. I thought you got a lot of food for the price. The veggie egg rolls were nice and crunchy, and the Pad Thai was really good, especially since it was my first time trying it. My favorite part was definitely the Panang chicken curry. It had so much flavor, and I'd absolutely order it again. Overall, this is such a good lunch spot! The food was really good, the portions were great, and everyone was so nice and helpful. My friend has also ordered their lunch to go before and said they still give you a lot of food, so that's good to know too. If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend stopping by for lunch. I really liked the spot, and we were looking for a Thai place we like that is closer to where we live - in the Bullard High area. We started off with vegetable egg rolls that were beautifully rolled and perfectly fried, and came with a delicious sauce. That was followed by a Chicken Larb Salad that was fresh and delicious. It was spicy - we requested medium spice on the two dishes that offered a range of spice - but perfectly seasoned. My only complaint would be that there were too few lettuce leaves to wrap in. Our main dishes were Pad Thai and the Thai Chili Basil Crispy Pork. Both were very tasty. The Crispy Pork was one of the best things I've had in a while. It too was supposed to be medium spiced, but interestingly not nearly as spicy as the Larb Salad. I only had a couple of bites of the Pad Thai, but those were very good, and my wife enjoyed it. Finally, for the amount of food we had, the price was very reasonable.

**Review from 2024 .......... Added here from previous trip**…read more So finally tried Thai Basil. Here is my honest review.... I am sooo glad we have something different in Madera. With that said here we go... Service.. service was super slow for an empty Sunday night. The young lady taking orders had no clue what sauces were on the dishes, had no clue what the ingredients were, she couldn't explain anything, she read the description on the menu back to me. She stated she had not had most dishes there. Her description of the cucumber salad was it's cucumber in a clear watery sauce.. ‍ I'm happy she was there to take our orders and she was nice. Presentation.. Presentation was quite nice for Madera! It was nice to see simple, yet pretty playing! The curry soup.. the flavors were quite muted for Thai food IMO. It was a good difference in texture having it topped with wontons. We ordered it medium spicy as well, which was great. The spicy pork flat noodle dish had great heat at medium spice level, wish I would have gone hot, since I like things SPICY . The texture of the pork was quite tough since they used a leaner cut of meat which was ok. I was surprised at the amount of meat on the plate for a noodle dish. Speaking of noodles they were almost sprinkled in in super small pieces, but the texture was on point. We wished there were more noodles. The broccoli seemed out of place I wish there was more Chinese broccoli which was cooked to perfection!!! The cucumber salad was delicious!!! We both stated we wished the onions weren't three inches long. I will definitely be making this at home! It would be a perfect pairing to grilled chicken or shrimp for a nice summer dinner!! We loved it!!! Saltiness of the food.. I think of Thai as having a few key flavors and the dishes are definitely on the saltier side, this was lacking salt, butttttt I prefer more salt than most people so not a true fair assessment. I was surprised there weren't any sauces on the table. Design and lay out.. it was very small inside but they did well with the space allotted and I loved the decor. The place needs a good dusting, we sat next to the wall and the wood was white with dust directly over the table. Overall it was a great meal considering I didn't have to cook, the plating was lovely, and it was something different for Madera! I wish them well!!! I'm happy they are here!!! Buttttttttt so far Coconut Cafe in Merced has a strong hold on our heart!! I can't wait to go back and try the Larb and the Pad Thai!

I ordered fresh spring rolls that came with two dipping sauces; a traditional peanut sauce and a vinaigrette. Both were delicious. My husband decided to order something he had never tried before, a pork noodle dish called Lad Na. Absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend. Finished up with sweet sticky rice with mango. Everything was fresh, and craveable.

I was recommended by a colleague to stop at Gem of Thailand but I have been here before it's just been a super long time. Because of how you have to get in the shopping area for Gem of Thailand it's literally in the back and the back in the back of the shopping area smaller place nearby Costco. Myself preferably I like going to places that are accessible to enter not difficult. We enjoy the food the prices were reasonable. The staff was super helpful to assist me even offered me a glass of water while I was waiting for my takeout. Check out Gem of Thailand located off of North Abbey.

The spice is everything and will heal the worst of ailments. I'm pretty sure it could cure whatever the next pandemic is. But really, the spice is delicious and there's such depth to the flavor that makes me feel like someone who loves me made this soup. Served best on very rainy and cold days too. Now that we're in the middle of summer I dream of that perfect afternoon with some delicious thai boat

They have a large variety of noodles here, pho, thai boat noodles, khao soy, khao poon, and also tons of other thai /cambodian / lao choices. We got a thai boat noodle, khao soy, and pork belly to share. The thai boat noodle and khao soy are delicious. It was my first time ordering khao soy I thought khao soy was a curry based dish, but my noodles were a pork based broth, still yummy though! The pork belly here is huge and served hot and super crispy, miles better than any other pork belly I've tried. The thai tea had an off putting flavor, like they had made it with soy mik? instead of condensed evaporated milk? Total was $83 after tax and tip, this place is pretty hole in the wall but even hole in the wall places have to charge more now to keep up with inflation. Great fast service !
