I'd give 10/10 for service however, for my food ratings, I base it mainly on the food. The food is okay. Not the best Thai/Lao food I had but not the worse. We ordered the papaya salad platter with the grilled chicken, egg rolls, pork belly,sausage combo. The best part was the chicken and sausage. I was not a fan of the veggie eggrolls as it was soggy and the pork tasted old. The papaya itself was okay; not as flavorful as I wanted and we got it Lao style and medium spice. It was not spicy at all, very mild. I also ordered a green Thai tea and it was very tasty and something I don't see often in other local Thai restaurant. We recently made a reservation for a party of 20 to celebrate one of our manager's birthdays during lunch, and unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. After being seated and served water, it took quite some time for our server, Leth, to take our orders. One coworker specifically ordered the pork belly appetizer and confirmed twice that it was entered correctly. He assured her it was. Shortly after ordering, appetizer plates, spoons, and napkins were brought out, so we assumed everything was in progress. Food slowly began arriving, but service issues quickly became apparent. The first entrée served was a beef pad thai, and when my coworker asked for a fork, our server instead asked if anyone wanted chopsticks. He returned several minutes later with only two pairs of chopsticks and had to be reminded again about the forks. By the time utensils finally arrived, several people were already halfway through their meals. Unfortunately, our server rarely checked back on the table. When my coworker never received the pork belly appetizer she had confirmed twice, she had to walk to the register herself, only to be told it had never been entered into the system. There was also confusion regarding to-go orders and payment. One coworker initially informed the server she had a to-go order and wanted it on a separate check, and he agreed. Later, another to-go order was placed separately as well. At the end of the meal, when we requested split checks, we were told the system only allowed two. We adjusted and agreed to one group check and one separate check for bookkeeping purposes. However, when we reminded the server that the to-go order had been promised on a separate check, he denied ever agreeing to it. Things became even more frustrating when I paid and requested a receipt for record-keeping. Leth told me to wait while he processed the remaining payment and reprinted it. After about 15 minutes, he never returned. As coworkers started leaving, several of us went to the counter to follow up. He eventually returned with only a credit card slip and kitchen printout, claiming he could not reprint the receipt. A manager later approached and explained that she had been told we didn't want a receipt, which was simply untrue--we specifically requested one for bookkeeping. To add to the disappointment, the mango sticky rice we ordered to go came with corn and taro, which was not disclosed anywhere on the menu or in the photos. This was an unexpected surprise and something customers should be aware of, especially for food allergies or dietary restrictions. I would strongly recommend updating the menu description and photos to clearly reflect all ingredients. This experience was especially disappointing because we've visited before and ordered takeout multiple times without issue. The food itself was actually decent--I'd give it 4 stars--but the service was honestly one of the worst experiences we've had for a planned group lunch. The server seemed overwhelmed, disorganized, and easily confused, which made what should have been a celebratory lunch unnecessarily frustrating. Wow, just wow. This place has so much flavor! Just atmosphere, nice people, and just a fun place to grab a bite to eat. I went here for an event and just The spring rolls were tasty. Perfectly fresh crisp lettuce, fresh mint, and fresh perfect noodles. I can't say enough of fresh and tasty these were. The peanut sauce was rich and think with a slight sweet flavor. Very nice. The bao buns, has crispy bread, with a I nice mix of veggies, and this tasty sweet sesame mayo that ties it all together. The sausages were my favorite. The platter we order, I honestly wish there was more papaya salad. The papaya was good but it wasn't the lao style I wanted and it was very skimpy, lots of meat and everything else but papaya could be more and spicer and funkier. Kao piak taste good , thai boat was ok, the innard soup was kind of bland and wasn't a little bitter like I asked and a small is really a small soup bowl. Tom yum broth was great. Pho was good. Nam khao and the raw beef laab were my favorite but the nam khao was one of the best things we ordered. It's really hard to find a good tasting, crispy not soggy nam khao around Fresno and here it really hit the spot! I ordered the boat noodles, crispy pork and papaya salad. Don't get me wrong. The food here is really good. But it just didn't hit that mark for me. For American Thai food this place is soooo good. This is my 2nd time trying this place and the food makes me feel at home. I came here on a Saturday for lunch with my aunt and cousins. We had 1 toddler as well. It was busy but we were able to get seated pretty fast. We ordered: Papaya salad platter Khao Poun Lao Pho Pad Si Ew Drunken Noodles/Pad Ki Mao All the food was really good. This place makes the best grilled chicken thighs, so juicy and flavorful. I've gotten takeout twice here and eaten in once. Their food is always fresh and hot, even when you order it to go. The only problem is the food gets so hot is that it melts the little containers that hold the fish sauce so sauce builds all Over the food inside the big container. Perhaps they should put a piece of foil around the sauce containers to minimize the leaking. Service is always very nice and efficient, over the phone and in person. Went to this Thai place on a Saturday just because it was close by and absolutely loved it. Our server was really sweet which made the experience even better. I started with spring rolls, fried nicely with a sauce that had a kick. Then I got Panang curry, which usually comes with white rice but I replaced it with basil chicken fried rice, and it was delicious. The panang curry had baby corn and I loved it! Also, both the Pad Kee Mao and Pad See Ew were absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor. The chicken was amazing, unlike at many Thai places where it's bland and feels like they just warmed up boiled frozen chicken and tossed on to the dish, here it was really flavorful and complemented the dish perfectly. The pad see ew at spicy level 4 was perfectly spicy, and again the chicken had great flavor. The pad ke mao had lots of perfectly cooked veggies and a strong basil taste which I loved! We ordered the Pad Thai, Tom Kha, the roasted chicken and the Panang curry. The Pad Thai was incredible, one of the best in Fresno. Super flavorful and rich- I almost ordered another plate. The Tom Kha was light and bright, with the coconut milk and lime leaves. The roasted chicken was fantastic when paired with their dipping sauce. However, the Panag curry was incredible salty. I have never tasted such a salty curry before, and I could only take two bites before taking it to go in order to dilute it at home. Celebrated my birthday here with yelpers. The space is airy and open, more upscale and modern than your typical Lao/thai whole in the wall. Soda is served in a can. I would prefer fountain. They offer different types of milk tea drinks and even Sake. I split the $55 platter with my friend, Sisy. It was beyond worth it! It could honestly feed 4 people even though it's meant for 2. You also get sticky rice baskets with it. Everything was flavorful. Because I'm not a spicy girl the papaya salad was made mild. It was very tasty and not too fishy. I really enjoy this place, I've eaten here four times already and the food has been consistently delicious. Everything is flavorful, and the service and staff are always friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend Nana Thong if you're looking for great Southeast Asian food! The only downside during my most recent visit was at checkout. We were accidentally charged for a different table, and the staff couldn't reverse the charge until the manager arrived. Unfortunately, that meant we had to wait quite a while, which was frustrating since we had an appointment to get to. Drunken noodles are solid. I've tried it twice and it's been consistently good. The noodles are bouncy and fried perfectly. I also appreciate the tofu options for vegetarians. The platters are best bang for your buck! We ordered the $55 platter all for my partner, lol. I got to eat the eggrolls and thum. It comes with sticky rice! Yummy! I usually prefer Thai thum (papaya salad) but I like their Laos thum. If you like the strong fermented pungent kick of padek/shrimp/crab paste that comes with Laos thum, it's much more reserved here. I'm not complaining though because that's too strong for me. All about preference... Unfortunately, the kaopoon noodles that came with the thum was overcooked or old. I hope they can reconsider serving poor quality kaopoon with their delicious thum. Bf gave a great rating for the diversity of options on the platter. He gave a "B" for the overall quality of food, stating the pork belly was a bit dry which is hard to do. Regardless, we enjoyed our date night and bf said he would return. I really like what they're doing here, sharing the umami and flavorful SEA foods to another part of Fresno. Our server Jennifer was great! Dinner time, arrived a few minutes after 5pm. It's my first time here. My husband has been here when they first opened and had the pho and wasn't a fan and everytime I tell him we should go he always says how it wasn't good. Finally convinced him to revisit. We like spice but since we had our kids and wanted them to try we had asked for no spice on our order. Everything came out lightening fast all under 10mins and piping hot. Papaya salad was on the sweet side, something different from what I'm used to when eating papaya salad but it was pretty good. The panang curry was rich and a bit on the spicy side. It has a good amount of protein. The pork belly was delicious and crispy, the sour chili lime sauce was a perfect combo. The Pad Khra Pao had so much flavor and also in the sweet side the egg was perfect and runny. Honestly, didn't want to get my hopes high since there were so many mixed reviews but this place was surprisingly good. So much flavors in each dish! The staff is also so kind and service was fast. We came during a weekday for lunch and good thing we had taken extra PTO for lunch so we could enjoy, because it took over an hour between the service and food. The staff was friendly and I don't fault them since it seemed like only 2 waitresses attending to a full restaurant. We were sat off to the side and for a while it seemed as if we were forgotten. Like out of sight out of mind. Eventually we did get served, but a table next to us did get up and leave. I ordered a lunch special for $15 and it came with my choice of curry and rice. Portion was good and the curry was delicious! Good mix of veggies and chicken, not just sauce. My coworker got a $20 special which came with a fried chicken, papaya salad and sticky rice. It was a quite generous spread of food for only $20. I did try a piece of chicken and the meat was flavored and well seasoned. I think their prices changed? I had seen on here that their specialty drinks were $3. The drinks weren't listed on any of the menus we were given. We all got a Thai Green Tea and I think the drinks were around $7. I had to update this! They ironed it all out! The system is in place and everything flows so much better now. The dish that I get is always consistently made. I've been here 4 more times since my original review and we've tried new dishes since then. Tonight I'm sticking to the Chiang Mai. I shall not deviate because it's too good and I'm not willing to try anything else. At some point I'm sure I'm going to try the Tom Yum. Maybe when it rains or is cold again.
