I ordered to go pork pad see ew and sticky rice. The restaurant was very clean and not too busy when I went to pick up my order. I did have to ask for the green sauce, which was amazing and ask for chopsticks as I was given a fork and spoon The sticky rice was OK. I prefer mine to be a little bit more sticky so I can eat it with my hands instead of having to use utensils . But the portion was a very generous portion. I ordered pork pad see ew. And it wasn't until I brought it home. I realize that I was given beef instead of pork. The flavoring was OK not very sweet kind of bland but when you add the green sauce to it, it elevated the flavors and was amazing. I don't think that I would eat any of the dishes without the green sauce as the flavor profile is not very strong. Hey Thai, Dropped by your place on the way up from LA. Quite a detour from the 99, but heard good things about you from a friend, and we had time, so made the detour. First impression was, you are the epitome of mom and pop. Small, quaint, clearly family run, child chilling in the back kitchen while adults work I was really craving Pas Thai recently but got scared by the mixed reviews. I heard later it is because your style of Pad Thai is different (more street style) so it's prob expectations that causes the mixed reviews. Will try next time. Here is what we got. The only turn off was the unexpected Surcharge. I really don't like these as they are unexpected and there is no explanation of why. Also when you pay it flashed on screen pretty quick. Then only the total is shown when deciding on tips and such. Just personally a real turn off. Prefer you get rid of surcharge and raise prices of dishes if you need. I came here with a friend for dinner. When we first sat, it was pretty full and then it cleared out. It's a pretty small place, you seat yourself. I got red curry with sticky rice. The curry was very flavorful, and the sticky rice was cooked nicely. For the taste I would go back, but probably would order to go. The service was ok, it could have been better. It seemed like they didn't really care to be there. No one was rude, they just didn't check on us or ask if we needed anything else. We also tried the yellow chicken curry, which had really good flavor and was more on the soupy side. Right across from Fresno State stadium is this little Thai restaurant which was pushing so much flavor in the air. Just looking thru the glass window you can see one of the owners happily serving dishes to their customers with a big smile. My coworkers and I met here after work. We dont get tossed each other often so try to meet up every 2 months. My coworker from out of town chose this spot. How, the how did I not know about this place? Its less than 2 miles from my house!! We were met and grabbed some seats right off. The server was super affable and really set the tone. This is a very small restaurant, with lots of takeout. That said, if you let the staff know you have a large group, they will reset the tables and even add a tablecloth to pull it all together. Food is prepared as ordered so you may have a wait, but it's worth it. The food is delicious. Large portions, and they will happily box up any leftovers for you to take home. We went in at around 5:30 and there was a rush of phone calls, but the gentleman kindly took our order after handling 3 phone orders in a row quickly and kindly. He even brought out some different textured delicious fried tofu to try with amazing different sauces. Now I've had fried tofu at about 10 different restaurants recently, this was perfection! Crisp on the outside, fresh, hot, and soft, like a marshmallow inside! Blew me away! My friends enjoyed their spring rolls and meal as well. They make everything fresh to order, and I was so pleased with their Vegan options too. I was very content, full, but it wasn't that heavy feel- just satisfied happiness! The vibe inside is very chill, comfy basic chairs, big digital menu, and another screen showing lovely musicians. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst Thai food meals I've had. It's a harsh review and accurate based on my experience that day. Where to begin? There's no bathroom so if you wanna wash your hands or use a restroom, you'll have to go elsewhere. The service is fine, but it's almost as if the cashier started yesterday. All sorts of strangers were walking in periodically and struggling with the plain counter menu. It didn't even occur to her to tell them that there were 'numbered' pictures on the wall that could be helpful. I asked, 'what ARE the spice level measurements here? What they go by--mild, medium, spicy, 1-5 level OR? She seemed unprepared to answer that simple question... If you DO order something off of the wall where the pictures were, they didn't know where that is located on the register. Really? Throughout my meal, several folks had ordered other things off the menu and paíd for them. 7 minutes later were told 'sorry, we are out of that. Want something else?' lol The SAD part: I sampled 2 different entrees and pork spring rolls to get a better sense/variety of what they are putting out. The food was weak in every regard. Overcooked OR completely raw? The pork s-rolls were way overcooked... hard, and they had such a little pork in them. The interior filling was eviscerated mush with scant pork. Perhaps it should've been renamed: 'Allusion to Pork' Spring Roll? The proteins were REALLY tight here! Not gym friendly... I don't care if I get a lot of food and it's mostly cheap carbs! The cashew nut chicken was terrible. Nothing but RAW vegetables! And I mean, NOT COOKED at all, tossed in with really skimpy chicken portion, three cashews and several more BURNT/BLACK cashews! Sending the plate back but after it hit the counter, you'd have been hard pressed to find them. The sauce was really thin and had no complexity... it also had these BIG burnt peppers in it, which were terrible. What a sloppily prepared dish! WHERE are the Master Thai cooks featured in the paper? Like the other 2 items the Pad See Ew was WAY skimpy on protein (ck). The DRY noodles were overcooked and it also seemed slopped hurriedly together? It lacked flavor and despite ordering it with 'mild spice,' it was TOO mild... 'allusion to mild' spice level. The noodles to substance ratio is 90/10%. You BETTER be hitting that gym since it's essentially all carbs! And while I like me veggies, this cheaply made and sloppily prepared meal was a SKIP! Honestly, I could throw something better together in my own kitchen. The restaurant is new so perhaps they'll work some of this stuff out? It did NOT leave a good impression and Pad Thai restaurant Clovis is STILL your best bet. And who the heck throws completely **BLACK charred charcoaled CASHEWS** into something that supposed to elevate them to another level??? THIS is the first impression you want to leave with a new customer? You want me to bite into a pure carbon totally black cashew that taste like briquette pieces??? I could only imagine that they were trying to put out the cheapest possible meal with the least amount of work or 'PGE energy' to even bother cooking things properly. Something entirely approved of by someone like PT Barnum! It's a $15 dollar dish. Could you please put more meat in it and not try to pass this off on me??? Don't be so cheap with me! The vegetables had not even the slightest warmth, zero char and were just tossed in RAW at the last minute. The experience was more like being a cow chewing one's cud, I'd imagine. Tom kha is a must for me whenever I get Thai and it's so flavorful here. I prefer it brothier but would still reorder. I have no doubt that their menu is only hits, no misses. Nothing but glowing reviews of their food. They just opened in May 2024 so they are still working out some kinks with expediting orders and such but it's worth the wait! I called in an order over the phone for 2 pad see ews and an iced coffee for pick up. When I got there, a lil later that anticipated, the food was ready and waiting for me. However, the dude (he was the only one on service while I was there) had accidentally rung it up as 2 pad thais and an iced tea. He got the correct order rung up right away and I could tell that he felt really bad about it. I wasn't too bummed. Mistakes happen, I wasn't in a rush, and now it'll definitely be fresh! I took a seat to the side to wait. The staff dude came over frequently (maybe 4 or 5 times?) to update me on timing and apologize again. It was ~7pm or so so there weren't many people there, but the smells from the kitchen were delicious. He ended up giving me the pad thais and iced tea on the house! Massive serving that sent my partner and I home with leftovers (definitely plenty to share family style and feed 2-3). We also ordered pork spring rolls another favorite and these were amazing!
