Extremely disappointed with how they do business. I've ordered the chicken salad for years and when I go on Yelp it has a button to click on to order now. It routes you to grub hub as if it's the only way to order. It charges $17.49 for the salad. I go to pickup and on their menu the same item is $12.99. I ask for the owner to cancel the order and let me get it from them in store as he stated the third parties can charge whatever they want. He wouldn't honor the pricing after I also waited 20 min in line to pickup my order due to one person working. It's a pretty crappy way to do business and I will not be ordering from this location again. Allowing a third party to charge $5 for the same exact item and being forced to order through them rather than connecting to the store is a pretty garbage way to treat your customers. read more

Without direction I asked her for a chicken platter and with a blank face she just stared for a while before it registered that I was ready to order. Aside from that, this place is amazing. The chicken platter comes with rice, salad, chicken, and a pita. They also give every order a side of their homemade sauce. ORDER EXTRA SAUCE! You'll thank me later. Going downhill fast! Poor customer service and long wait times make this, once a 5 for me- to now a one! They charged me $0.46 extra for a cup because I wanted my rice separate from my salad. They did not inform me that they were charging extra for it either. When I asked for my receipt (which they did not provide), I saw two additional $0.23 charges. When I asked about it, the gentleman at the counter stated that he had to charge me for it -after the fact. I love falafel, which means I'm always looking for some delicious falafel in the 305. I tried Rice because I had heard so much about it and people seem to rave about this place! When we first walked in were weren't exactly greeted, or noticed for that matter. We finally ordered after a few minutes and I was really excited to see what all the fuss was about. We shared a falafel platter with an extra side of falafel because the love is real. When we got our plate it looked absolutely delicious! And then I tried the falafel (how man times can I use the word falafel in one review?) and everything changed. They weren't crunchy on the outside like you'd expect. They were soft and mushy and kind of seemed like something you'd reheat at home. The rest of the platter was fine, but I was thoroughly disappointed about the falafel. The only reason why I'm not giving this place two stars is because the baklava saved it! We tried a chocolate and a walnut and they were both amazing! Sweet without being too sweet, crunchy and just absolutely perfect! This really made up for how bad the falafel was. I requested a side of yogurt sauce with my order. The employees refused, stating that I had to accept the disgusting sauce that was provided to me or pay for a full-size item. This is akin to McDonald's only providing sweet-and-sour sauce for free and when a customer requests BBQ, charging them $5-6. Plus my order was served cold. I'll find a kabob alternative, thanks. In response to the comment from Eri at Rice: I absolutely did not pick up my order after 40 minutes. I live in Doral so that is ridiculous - the location is 10 minutes from my home. No matter how long it takes, however, orders should be kept warm, not sitting out room temperature. It makes no sense from some condiments to be complimentary and others not. read more

I have been a customer for a while but may not be coming back. Today the meal took over 30 minutes. Numerous people who ordered after me got their meals before me. I finally walked up and sure enough it was a mistake. The manager was rude about it and gave me a meal that was literally thrown together and didn't have enough rice. I once again complained and once again the manager was rude. When paying $16 for a lunch I expect better service and not to be treated poorly. Tried and true. Rice House is always good idea! I am usually not in Doral, but I was in the area with some friends so we decided to stop into Rice House. There was plenty of parking and seating inside. They offer about 6 lunch specials, most of them under $10. I ordered the chicken platter. It came with 5 large pieces of grilled chicken, basmati rice, fresh salad, and a piece of pita with hummus. Service was quick. They also give you a side of their housemade sauce. I put this sauce on just about the entire plate. The portions are plenty for lunch. All of us left feeling full and satisfied. I didn't even finish all of my rice or pita (not usually my style, but they serve quite a bit). I'm a big fan of Mediterranean food and even more so when I know the food is fresh. Everyone enjoyed it. If you're in the area, definitely stop by. And if you're not, Rice House has locations elsewhere so you can get your Rice House fix all over Miami. read more

My brothers wife is Lebanese so I have been able to try a lot of Lebanese food and love everything that I have tried. There used to be a great Lebanese restaurant in Doral on nw 25 st, but it closed down and has left me looking for a replacement. While this is not Lebanese, Persian is close enough to fill that void. Walking into Rice house, it has a clean style that is inviting. They have large photos of the menu next to the counter, so that it is easy to order. I went with the #3 Combo, which comes with rice, a grilled tomato, grilled beef tenderloin and chicken kabob, with a side of sauce. I was surprised that it cost me about $19 for my meal (had a zephyr hills 16oz bottle as well). Seemed overpriced for a self service restaurant. Nevertheless, I waited for my meal. They give you one of those vibrating devices to let you know you order is ready, which is cool, but I don't really think it is necessary since the restaurant is not that large or noisy. Didn't have to wait long for my shaker to do its thing, and claim my food. It was a good size plate, with a generous amount of meat and rice. The chicken is tasty and well seasoned, as was the beef. I would have preferred if the meat wasn't cooked well done (prefer medium), but nevertheless it was still good. Rice was good to, and I always love a grilled tomato. The sauce was nice too, and after a few taste tests I drowned my meal in it. Why only three stars? For one, the food is good - not great. I have had better. The real problem I have is that the meal was overpriced. For the price I paid, I could have had a meal at a sit down restaurant, and had a waiter serve me. Rice House is essentially a Persian chicken kitchen. They do a good job of classing it up with better decor, friendly staff, etc. but it still doesn't justify a higher price, I wouldn't pay $19 for a large chicken chop, so I am not sure why they are billing so high. If it was priced more reasonably, I would have given it 4 stars. They don't seem to have a problem getting people to pay, so perhaps it is just me. All that being said, I will give this place another try in the future. read more

I have visted Rice many times before and I must say, it has never let me down. I usually order the Chicken Platter "joojeh", "joojeh"char-grilled which consists of char-broiled delicious chunks of boneless chicken breast marinated to perfection, with a large portion of salad and basmati rice. Sauce is provided on the side, which compliments the platter really well. I recommend you ask for an extra sauce (trust me on this) :) For those looking to have an alcoholic beverage with their meal, they also sell wine and beer, for you to enjoy. Head to Rice if you a) Want a basic intro to Persian food. b) You are starving and want a big, hearty, home-cooked style meal. Rice in a nutshell has got good fast Persian food. An entry-level Persian joint, if you will. Although most dishes on the menu are delicious (and huge!) you won't find any of the real authentic dishes, like Ghormeh Sabzi or Fesenjan, which make Persian food truly unique and exciting. Nonetheless, you can't go wrong with the rice (I mean the ACTUAL rice), the Kubideh, the pickled vegetables stashed away in the cooler by the register, or if you're daring enough, the Doh, a salty yogurt drink. Make sure to generously sprinkle your rice with Sumac, the tangy red spice that you'll find on your table. And should you get hooked on putting Sumac on everything (like yours truly), you can always buy it at Middle-Eastern grocery stores rather than swiping it off the table (just sayin'). At the end of the day, who cares about authenticity when you are hungry? If you came for a good meal, I can promise that you'll leave content. Not to mention stuffed as a grape leaf. read more

I ordered the steak platter requested meat medium. The meat was so overlooked it was hard to chew, the jasmine rice fair, the salad ok n the grilled veggies were good. We tipped the guy when we paid the food, the place was pretty empty yet they did not bring us the food and when my 80 yr old mother requested a take up dish for her leftovers, she was told she needed to walk up to register to get it. I used to eat here every week or two weeks but the quality of the food has decreased every time I have eaten there. The second to last time I ate there, the rice was so hard that it caused me to throw it up for the next two days. It caused stomach issues and I had to eat light for a couple days: I called and the worker told me she would tell the cook to make sure it's cooked more thoroughly next time. I ordered again the other day and the rice was still not cooked all the way through; it really took away from the experience of the food and made me wonder if I would get sick again from eating it. I've been to Rice twice now, and have been impressed both times with the quality and freshness of the food. Everything I have had on the menu has been great. I recommend the Kubideh (like a kefta kebab) and the Chenjeh (steak kabob), which are both tender, juicy, and very flavorful. Both are served with a tangy yogurt sauce that is AMAZING. The Tenderloin wrap is amazing, the meat is tender and it is cooked perfectly, and the wrap comes with lettuce, tomato, feta cheese and their delicious yogurt sauce.
