This particular Shah of Kebab location was honestly disappointing, especially compared to the expectations set by the name and reputation. When we arrived, it was the middle of the day and there were only about two people there, so it wasn't busy at all. Right away, the vibe felt off. When we asked about Persian rice with tahdig or any stews, we were told they didn't have any. No explanation, no apology, nothing. It almost felt like they were halfway shut down or just didn't care anymore. What really bothered me is that this is Persian food we're talking about. Rice is a core part of the cuisine, and making it during the day is not some impossible task. The lack of effort and the dismissive attitude were pretty concerning. Instead of feeling welcomed, it felt irritating and uncomfortable, like our presence was an inconvenience rather than customers coming in to eat. I've reviewed their other location before, and even then, I felt like the hype didn't really match the experience. After this visit, I can confidently say it's just not worth it. Cute Persian restaurant with a parking lot and a little street parking. Casual interior and small outdoor seating. If you're eating in, a server comes to the table to take your order. You can also order at the checkout counter to go. The food was fresh. Phenomenal chicken kebob. So soft and juicy! Incredible flavor. I enjoyed it came with a generous portion of rice and salad, but was surprised they charged me extra for the salad toppings (was not communicated, I thought it was included). They also have an incredible bakery section with outstanding looking cakes, cookies, brookies and more. Mar was so delightful and patient sharing her favorites. Walked away trying the Nutella cookie. Food and quality is just not consistent. My first visit was four stars and each subsequent visit, it got worse. The first time I ordered the koubideh kabob it a was delicious, juicy and fresh. The second time it was meh. They almost never have any of their stews or tadig - why bother putting these on the menu if you literally never have it and constantly tell people you're out of it? No matter how early I've come for lunch, the answer was always no. The one time I managed to order one of their stews, it was decent, but underwhelming. Service is hit or miss. The girls there try, but some issues as they barely speak English and only speak Spanish, which is odd for a Persian restaurant. And obviously they don't know the food well and can't give recommendations to people who have never had Persian food. I caught a glimpse of the kitchen area on my way to the bathroom and it was a bit concerning in terms of hygiene. There is street parking and a very small lot next to this location. Don't get duped into ordering the desserts, they co-share the space with a separate bakery and had I known I'd need to pay separately, I wouldn't have ordered. Plus one slice of cake was $22! I think $24 with tax. Sad that the only really well known Persian place in Miami can't get its act together. Just keeps opening new locations, with little to no regard to actual food and service. read more

I also love that they offer desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth after a meal. My favorite is the tres leches strawberry, which is out of this world! Located in the old Array Eatery space, on the corner of 36th Street, is the newest location of Shahs of Kabob. I had a chance to stop by early this week for a quick bite. Garnished with sumac, the mix of chick peas, tahini sauce and citrus was creamy and well flavored. Their Joojeh (chicken kabob) I enjoyed was juicy and also well seasoned and came on a plate with steamed tomatoes and a generous helping of white rice powdered with yellow saffron. My dinner was pleasantly filling, though I did leave room for dessert. I am holding off a star because I wanted to try their Fesenjoon stew (chicken, walnut & pomegranate), but was told they were out when I went in the evening. As far as dessert, though billed separately thru "Sweet Manifesto" I enjoyed a strawberry pavlova. Picture a tasty bed of strawberries covering a layer of cream, dulce de leche & a couple layers of graham cracker and you'll have an idea of this deliciousness. We were traveling from California and just finished a cruise looking for good places to eat. We were a group of 15 and ordered 3 family platters and got to try the different kebabs they had. The meat/lamb combination (I forgot the name) was hands down everyone's favorite! Super tender and juicy and flavorful! The desserts were to die for! Big big slices for sharing so don't over order! Every single thing on the menu is amazing and authentic Iranian dishes. All the locations are so kind and treat you like family and the food is always consistent. I could eat here every day. If you've never tried Iranian food this is the restaurant to try great quality ingredients with delicious flavors. The chicken kabob and ground beef meat is so delicious and we order it at least once a week. A must try in Florida in any location. They also offer catering so amazing. The food is so legit and clean. Everything is fresh and made to order. My favorites are the barg and joojeh kabobs with rice and salad. Side note, they don't use seed oils, so the fat they cook with isn't terrible for you. I come in at least once a week, especially after a gym session. read more

Went last night for the third time in three months to Shah's in Wynwood. Brought my daughter from out of town to celebrate her birthday. It took an hour for us to get our main course. We had to ask 3 times for it and each time we were told that the place was busy. We were the only customers around 6:30pm and we watched 5 other tables after us arrive receive their food, pay their bill and leave. After the 3rd time of asking for our food a waitress came up and admitted that they had made a mistake (which I appreciated) but then had the audacity to try to gas light us and tell us it had only been 20 min. When the food finally came it was short tomatoes. I think the chef does not know how many roasted tomatoes go with the meals. They are always short tomatoes and I have to ask for it every time. I told the waiter and he said he would bring that and some more pita bread (I go to a lot of Persian restaurants and they are very stingy on the pita and will charge you for more) and of course it never came. I really like the food here but not sure I can handle the service. I had been telling everyone about this place but I don't think I can go any longer. I usually take with a grain of salt yelp reviews of people who give lower ratings due to service but I feel this is merited. I even waiting overnight to cool down before writing this. read more

We called them and they were absolutely useless, hung ip on us. We called back and the woman essentially said "it's not our problem, we gave it to an Uber driver an hour ago". However we didn't order on Uber!! It was on their independent website. They do not care at all, they don't offer to try to help to figure out where your food is. We went by 1pm for the first time. The girl at the front desk was cute. The place is nice, clean and has an open window to show their impressive cakes... They have options to share with 2,3 or 4. I felt in a rush to get anything in three minutes because of the server, but I can understand she has no experience in customer service. This doesn't even matter to me, but as soon as my friend ordered, the server went straight to get the menu under my arms without a polite word. so we left.
