We waited 1.5 hours for a party of 8 on a Saturday night, and up to an additional 1 hour for our food to arrive. That being said, when it did arrive, the food was solid (though I'm unsure if my judgment was swayed by the amount of time that elapsed and my likewise growing hunger levels). Each dish was around $18-$20 (moderately priced compared to the Bay Area) and had decent portions. The pad kee mao (level 1 spicy) was decently flavored and had a variety of topics. You can choose to go up to level 5 in terms of spiciness levels, and add additional chilis with provided extra spice on the table. The beef noodle soup was the dish that took the longest by far. Wait was around 30-45 minutes on a Saturday night. Service was relatively fast. I got the khao soi dish with beef. The beef was really tender and I liked the pickled veggie side dish. There was a very decent serving of noodles in the soup. However, the soup itself was pretty salty, and I didn't really like the crispy fried noodles on the side (it came in a big bird nest shape which made it pretty hard to eat because it can't be sprinkled on top of the soup, and it got really soggy by the time I could untangle pieces for bites). read more

A solid option for Thai food. I went with a group of 7 on a Friday in mid May and since it wasn't peak season, we were able to get a table fairly easily. I shared fresh rolls with some people and got the khao soi with crispy chicken spice level 3. The fresh rolls were pretty standard and a good vegetarian option. Big fan of Thai and after some high end eats decide to give some local restaurant a go. Our group had Khao Soi Seafood, Khao Man Kai Chicken combo, Khao Man Gai. Couldn't leave without getting the classic dessert mango sticky rice. All the food was excellent but service from hostess and waitresses was pretty MEH like they cared less wether they were attentive sit us, to take our order, get us more water and the meals came very staggered from the kitchen. They give out spring rolls for 5 star reviews, so the rating is likely very inflated!! Was there on a Saturday night during ski season, and they told us a 30min wait and we waited for over an hour. We had a party of eight, but we split into 4s and still waited for an extremely long time. Expect a long wait during ski season. A bunch of appetizers and items on the menu were sold out. After we got seated, it was extremely difficult to flag down a waiter to take our order. They took our order eventually, but only served us water ONCE WE ASKED after 30min of sitting down. The service was extremely poor, they definitely need more waiters. Food was decent, but definitely not worth the long wait or the poor service. I didn't have a high expectation on getting such delicious Thai foods likes what Rice Thai Eatery has to offers in South Lake Tahoe - a very touristy area, but I was wrong. First of all, this restaurant is beautiful, not too spacious but the atmosphere were so bright, clean, and cozy with neutral tone furniture. I came during lunch time and got seated immediately, my waitress were lovely, she provided great service during my visit very friendly and attentive. I was surprised with the variety of items that they have on their menu from savory to sweet. I ended up order Thai Tea, Chicken Satay, Pad Thai with Beef, and Duck Noodle Soup for 2 people and we have plenty of leftover to bring back home. Thai Tea was fragrant with the right sweetness level. Chicken Satay were yummy, i love both the peanut sauce and the pickled cucumber and onion that goes together with it. For Pad Thai I'm honestly would prefer the eggs not scrambled but it just my personal preference, not the best Pad Thai I ever had but the flavors were completed with that tangy, sweet, and a little bit of spicy kick, I enjoyed it. Duck Noodle Soup on another hand was amazing, it definitely one of best duck item I have had in the year of 2025, the meat was tender, broth were flavorful, I should have switched to egg noodles but rice noodle was alright too, with Level 2 of spiciness, it does have a little bit of a kick but I do like it. We had a fantastic family dinner at Rice Thai Eatery last night with a group of 7 adults and 4 kids. The food was excellent -- fresh, flavorful, and authentic. The menu includes helpful pictures, which made it easy for everyone (especially the kids) to see exactly what they were ordering. A customer whom had taken before us waited an hour. The crew is very unprofessional, avoided talking with us. When we talk about a refund, they hid in the back. Stumbled upon this place without looking at reviews, and just out of pure hunger and needing to refuel asap. Didn't have any expectations. Not only were the soups perfect for a snowy winter day, but omg this is probably by far the best Thai food I've had! The meat in all our dishes were somehow so perfectly tender, and all the soup broths had different bases and tasted very authentic. The food was so good we ordered extra to go eat later in the day! The staff was friendly, restaurant was nice, quiet, clean and family friendly. Provided the kids with kid dishes and utensils.
