The noodles were ok but they weren't as flavorfull i mean the spice was good but the noodles and sauce tasted kinda bland. The sticky rice was nice and kinda soupy which both caught me off guard and i enjoyed but it was kinda clumpy and im wondering if thats how its supposed to be or if ill be finding out tomorrow lol. I didn't notice this place until I went into the liquor shop in the corner, I spontaneously went into for takeout and it was a little mom and pop shop with many things on the menu. I got the coconut chicken curry and it was the best I'd ever had. It has so much flavor. And it took me two days to finish so they do give you a good amount and I got rice with it. Food was great, probably one of the best Thai in the area. But wait time was HORRIBLE. I called to make a takeout order for 3 dishes, and they said it'd take 15 minutes to get ready. I ended up waiting for 50 minutes. Last I checked 15 50. Busyness is understandable but communication is so so important. I only took off 1 star because I know the staff were busy, but this expected versus actual wait time is absurd. BEWARE. For food, we ordered the pineapple fried rice, tom yum soup, and crying tiger. I haven't had thai food this tasty since I lived on the west side of LA. It's delicious! And their linch special is almost too good to be true. They are fast! They're understaffed, but the food's really good. We had bad luck with their curry when we asked to adjust the spice level. ("Mild" was just watered-down, and it just wasn't pleasant). The curries are good and have wonderful flavor, if you just choose medium spicy or higher. We also had the papaya salad. It's good, but medium spicy was too hot for us - it creeps up on you after a bit and it was hard to finish. Next time we get the salad, we'd try it just a bit less spicy. My girlfriend had the signature riceberry rice, but I haven't had it yet. read more

Their taste of food. Ive been there two times. Their taste is not my experience with other Thai restaurants. It's flavorless.

I got takeout after getting off work and was craving some panang curry but I didn't want to cook it. I also got their larb salad ($9.50), which consists of ground chicken flavored with fish sauce, lime juice, roasted ground rice, fresh cilantro, sliced carrots, cabbage, lettuce, and red onions. It tasted like the one I make at home which was nice but theirs was spicy for alot of people but not spicy enough for me. Their panang curry ($10.75) came with a carton of white rice, it was very thick and had a good heat to it with a good amount of sliced green peppers and chicken. The portions was good that I had leftovers for lunch they next day. Surprisingly good place. I feel like the good thai places are further out east. I gauge the authenticity of a thai place by how spicy they make their food. A really legitimate place will burn your stomach when you order small spice. I eat okay spicy for reference, I don't feel like I do but people seem to not handle what I think is fine. This place I ordered a medium spicy pad kee mao and I was actually feeling it pretty good. Was getting major nose drip by the time I finished. My girlfriend had a taste also and didn't come back lol. This location is small, but the kitchen usually turns out good food I have enjoyed as take out. Last night we had a big order with a few new items we tried. Red curry with chicken which was very light on the chicken, but tasty as always. We tried the Southside stir fry which is a seafood medley which was a also nice and fresh. Papaya salad was pretty good with the shrimps a bit on the rubbery side. The Roaring Tiger spicy marinated grilled beef was horribly overcooked til it was gray and dead. Im not sure if it even saw a grill as there was no browning or grill marks to be seen. Whatever flavor was supposed to be there was cooked out leaving the sad remains. The shrimp and crab Pad Thai had dried up overcooked shrimp and fishy tasting canned crab. I'm sure the shrimp must've been cooked ahead and stirred in to re-warm. Atrocious use of what started out as perfectly good shrimps. The crab would've been better if it had been rinsed and drained to get rid of the tinned taste before using. Also ordered the sweet and sour chicken which could've been so much better if the sauce was boxed on the side to add in at home. It was a soggy mess. Dont know if I would go back for more since half of the food was Blech! Such a disappointment they started cutting corners by skipping steps like cooking the meat and shrimp fresh to order. It's a small restaurant, so I wouldn't really order in, but the food is perfect. I ordered Pad Kee Mow (Drunken Noodles) with extra veggies added to it. Best Thai Place in Upland! The authentic indoor seatings makes it feel like a street food alley way! The lunch special is what sold me. 9.95$ for a good amount of an entree with a salad, eggroll, and delicious dipping sauces with the eggroll. Do better ! 2nd The inconsistency in portions, sometimes the green curry is in big containers and sometimes is small. When you switch out the tofu for extra mushroom. They give you like 5 pieces of sliced mushroom = 1 mushroom maybe haha 3rd last time we got 3 order of riceberry rice - All undercooked meaning it was still hard . They could've inform us that's not ready yet instead of giving to us . For the extra cost, we can buy the actual black pear rice at sprouts and make it at home. Orange Tofu is surprisingly good if you are lucky. Sometimes it's all dough outside not much inside. Found a new Thai place worth checking out! I like that they can alter their food to cater to different people. So if you are Vegan they will do what they can to make the dish vegan. The waitress was extremely nice, making sure of what we could or could not eat. Definitely kid friendly, as they have high chairs, and even a cute kids plate with plastic utensils. Food They have their regular menu, lunch special, as well as a combo deal where you can pick from many different main dishes, and different appetizers. This is what we ordered: Papaya Salad - I believe this was good, but it was a little more on the sour side. Mango Sticky Rice- The sticky rice was on point, the only downside was that the mango was still not ripe enough Combo #4 Pad Thai - Vegetable Crispy Spring Rolls- Tom Kha Pad See Ew - Chicken Satay - Tom Kha Pad Thai and the Pad See Ew had plenty of flavor, and both was great. Tom Kha was good but a little too rich for my taste. I do want to note that these bowls of soup are pretty big. Ambiance Like I said this place isnt that big, maybe 8 -11 tables that would fit 4 people. Parking was easy to find, as it shares the same parking for the Sprouts. Nice modern looking place with different decorations. Great first experience at this place. The location is actually closer to us as well from the other Thai restaurant we visit. This place has a great atmosphere with chic decorations. However, the taste is not authentic but fusion Thai cuisine. The food has a beautiful presentation but, I care more about the taste. I do recommend their vegetable spring rolls and orange tofu. My best suggestion for them is instead of branding themselves as bold Thai flavor; they should stick with vegan-friendly since it seems like this is their selling point. -1 star for overload sweet and sugars for lavender milk tea -1 star for diluted pineapple curry; I ordered curry.. not soup. I don't think they use enough coconut milk -1 star for overload salt of Tom yum soup. I added rice to the soup, and it still too salty for consumption. The woman sat a table away from me praised how the soup tasted so good, the best out of all the Thai restaurants she had visited. Tons of take out was constantly flowing out. Location is in a Sprouts strip mall. It was a cold night and it felt like the same temperature outside was the temperature inside - we were still bundled up. Plenty of parking however most of the close spots are 20 minute parking and we were dining in no rush so parked a little ways out. We are big fans of Tom Yum soup and we asked for it medium spicy and added shrimp. Shrimp was a fair amount and the size overall was plenty. Biggest issue was we asked for medium spicy and it was definitely spicier than imagined. Like runny nose and couple tears to your eyes spicy. Careful the opening at the top got a little hot and burned my hand while serving. We also got the Yellow curry plate with tofu. Loved that the potatoes had ornate cuts in them. The Crab fried rice Was worth a try - an ok amount of crab. Like the ornate cut cucumber that accompanied this. Service was good and friendly. read more
