I don't usually bother writing reviews unless the service in question is incredibly good or incredibly bad. This is one of the former. We needed to add an outlet to the inside of our BBQ island, routed from another outlet on the outside, requiring routing through multiple cinderblocks. Tried a number of BBQ installers as well as other electricians, who either turned us down or never got back to us. I contacted Richard Olinger Electric late on a Thursday, and Richard got back to me promptly on Friday, with a clear quote and willingness to take on the Job. Monday, Brennan came out promptly and did a great job. It was quality work, and quick! And it came in under budget! He was in and out in about an hour and a half, including having to go get a specialty piece he didn't have on hand. It is a great install, including mounting the transformer next to the outlet (what we needed to plug in in the first place). Honestly, can't say enough about them and the work they did. This review is about Brennan mostly and his way of treating customers. I had Richard's workers come over back in May to install 4 outdoor sconces on my property. Everything was going well until Brennan started being condescending to my father and I during the job. [he might have had a bad day? who knows...] For example; he was repeating what I said in a tone mocking me, or raising his voice to tell me to turn off the current for a light switch. Brennan, I know when it's a live wire to turn it off for safety reasons, no need to yell for alarm. To me, that's not professional at all and it just ruined the quality for me. I saw the completed job and you could see, with the naked eye, that some of the sconces were crooked and drywall dust was on the garage floor. Cleanup to me is a determining factor too when it comes to quality, but I understand humans aren't perfect. When it came to Justin, on the other hand, he was very professional and we had a good chat about his profession. The next day I noticed that the address light was not working and called Richard many months later about it. Brennan came over again with some other person, not Justin, and he claimed it was a burnt-out light. I went to Home Depot and got the lights and installed them and everything was fine. This time he acted normal and was professional, hence why I think he might have had a bad day the first time he came over. Overall for a $750 job, I expect somewhat perfection, nothing crooked, no mess, and to be polite and respectful towards customers. The owner, Richard, was fine for he was professional and did what he said he would do, so I have no issue with him. I would hire them again in the future because Richard keeps his promises.
