Can't say enough good things about Dr. Cheung and the team here. I first came to visit him after having some tightness and pain in my neck after a stupid move on my part during a deadlift pull. His office was close to mine, and had good reviews, so I figured I'd try him out. He addressed the issue and it only took a couple sessions to get back to 100%. Then, almost immediately, I had to see him again for treatment for a lower back problem, which took quite a few more sessions than before. However, throughout the entire process he walked me through each of his treatments, and even gave me specific exercises to do at home to help with the recovery. Dr. Cheung isn't my first chiropractor, and I know that there are other chiropractors out there that have great results and have honed their craft extremely well. So why the five stars? Well, it's not just how he's helped me, but how he's helped my wife. For years my wife had issues with lockjaw, and even after consulting multiple health professionals she was never able to completely fix her jaw movement. I recommended that she at least have a consultation and general alignment with Dr. Cheung (at this point I had been seeing him for weeks and was more than happy with his work), and since he was so close to both of our offices, she gave it a shot and set up an appointment. She liked the results of the first visit, and decided to see him again to see if he could do anything to help with her jaw. We had no idea the result would be as dramatic as they were. Turns out that all the others practitioners she consulted with in the past had misdiagnosed her, and after a correct assessment, Dr. Cheung did a quick adjustment on her jaw. It was like night and day afterwards. Before the adjustment she could not open her mouth without her lower jaw zig-zagging into place (it's hard to describe so you'll just have to take my word that it was super uncomfortable for her). Anyway, she felt so much better afterwards, and couldn't believe that for years she was living with this and just needed the right person to provide the right treatment. She's since started seeing him regularly, using both chiropractic and IASTM for treatment. So, long story short, started going here because the location was convenient, but stayed because his knowledge and treatments are excellent. As a veteran, the VA nicely took care of my chiropractic needs. Then, the VA allowed me to see Dr Cheung to treat my misaligned back and neck about a month after my back surgery. Prior to seeing Dr Cheung, I used a walking cane and had daily cluster headaches to accompany my high pain level. I've known that Dr. Cheung is a great doctor for several years now and recently, he once again proved implicitly why he's the "GO TO" doctor. In these past few weeks, I simultaneously went see to Dr. Cheung for myself and my pre-teen daughter, both of us with very different problems. For Myself: I developed severe trigger finger from overuse of my smartphone. My thumbs would literally lock and I would not be able grasp or grip things. Dr. Cheung began a comprehensive regiment of Graston technique and Kineso taping on my thumbs. Over the course of a few weeks, we saw significant improvement and the return of much of the range of motion in my thumbs. For my daughter: She complained of severe pain in her heel that was causing her to limp in pain. As with many teens, she had no idea how she incurred the injury. I took her to the pediatrician who said it was probably some soft tissue injury but he did not exactly know what was the cause. I immediately called Dr. Cheung's office and they managed to squeeze my daughter in for an appointment. After her examination, he pinpointed her problem to bursitis of the heel which in turn irritated her Achilles. Within a few treatments, she completely recovered. I agree with the reviews that the customer service at Dr.Cheung's office is nothing short of amazing. They are cordial and helpful! I also liked the fact that they don't make you get uneccessary X-rays and MRIs done. However, Dr.Cheung did not have the magic/amazing hands like what it said in the reviews. I have friends and clients who are chiropractors/orthopedic surgeons and I have experienced enough adjustment&treatments to discern great from mediocre. I honestly think his associate, Dr.Choi does a better job in adjustment. I also didn't like how he stereotype claim adjusters, how they are all horrible. I worked at one of the most prestigious insurance firm as a senior advisor for more than a decade and I completely disagree with him. I don't like being pressured into doing something I don't feel comfortable with. You pretty much know why some doctors are adamant in wanting to file insurance claim themselves. As I was given permission by my adjuster, I wanted to get the medical records and reciepts to see what it says since the doctor is treating my body and submit it myself and there is nothing wrong with that. I sent my medical receipts to the other party's ajduster and I got paid the same day for PT, Chiro and acupressure. Don't fall for it. You can pay for it and claim it yourself. read more

Woke up one day with a really sore and tight left shoulder and back spasms. I didn't know where to go and was desperate to get treated for my pain. In pain & didn't want to go see a primary doctor to get referral so I decided to check out yelp. Dr Cheung had really good reviews so I decided to check it out. I'm really happy with my decision. He's very professional and very thorough. He handles and treats all his patients by himself. He does not pass you to a tech or assistant. He's very concern of your progress or lack of. He gives exercises to help with the healing process and to prevent future injuries or pain. Let me start off by saying that I have never been to a Chiropractor before and was really nervous about going to one after being involved in a car accident. I started to have Lower and Middle Back pains along with pain on my neck a few days after the car accident. It was hard for me to sleep and work throughout the day and go on with my normal lifestyle. I just found out that they lied about being in my PPO network. Out of the blue & months later, they sent me an enormous bill. The reception is very difficult to work with. I've been waiting for paperwork that they're unwilling to send (incredibly forgetful??). On my 2nd visit, the receptionist lied to keep me in the office. After a half hour of waiting, I left. When I exited, she asked me to come back because the Dr was ready for me. Well he wasn't. I waited an additional 15 minutes. I threw out my back - twice - within a 2 month period. Got an MRI and found out I had two herniated discs in my lumbar region, oh joy! I started going to Dr. Cheung and started feeling the results right away. I went from being crooked, hardly able to sit up or stand straight, to being mobile again - enough to be able to sit at my computer and write this review! Ha-ha. The office is clean and comfortable with several rooms. I am very satisfied with the stretching of my back, minor adjustments, tapping of my lower back for support, the electric stimulation with heat, and the Biofreeze spray. Dr. Cheung has been able to calm the flare ups I've had, which were caused by physical therapy (not by him). I totally recommend him for anyone suffering with debilitating back pain! Tip: Make sure you request Dr. Cheung for your appointment, because a couple of times I assumed I was going to see him, but instead I got Dr. Choy, who did not know my back issues well enough to treat me and caused me pain. That's not speaking to her ability overall, as I did not have her to start off with - this was just my experience on the 2 times I had her. I've been a client of Richard's since early this year and I have to say that my overall health has improved because of it. I've had terrible sharp pains in my lower back region for years. Ever since I've been regularly been seeing Richard, the pain has decreased and I've regained the flexibility I use to have (I can touch my toes again!). I pulled my back thinking I was wonder woman, lifing and lowering buckets of rocks. I knew it was going to be bad when I heard the snap, but was hoping for the best after icing and heating. The next day I could barely sit and was in so much discomfort just breathing. My normal chiropractor, that I hadn't gone to in years, was booked that day. I checked Yelp and Dr. Cheung was the first recommendation I saw that had great reviews and also was able to get people in same day. I called and since I live near by, he was able to squeeze me in right away. After my first visit, it was like night and day. I felt so much better. I went back the next day and felt almost healed. You aren't going to find better than Dr. Cheung! I'm a software engineer, so I spend around ten hours a day at a desk, and it ruins my back and neck. When I first came to Dr. Cheung, I wasn't unable to exercise, or sleep due to the pain. Dr. Cheung quickly got down to the meat of the problem and gave me sound advice. He suggested some ergonomic changes, and some light exercises I could do on top of the adjustments I was getting in his office. I can happily report that I'm back to my old self again. At one point, I didn't see him for about 2 months because my schedule picked up so much. I had a scare with dizziness that landed me in ER. I couldn't do anything but lay down, and my blood work showed nothing. I remembered Dr. Cheung, and immediately went back to see him. He adjusted my neck, and the next day the dizziness was gone. He re-emphasized my routine and the symptoms haven't returned. On top of it all, he is just a great guy. He pays attention to detail, and he cares. Could not recommend more. read more

I drive a lot in Los Angeles area and somehow I always get rear ended. I was in need of Chiropractor when my car was totaled 3 years ago and my friend recommended this place. Since then I had few more rear end car accidents and I been dropping by almost every year for the treatments. They have separate parking spaces on the back and Randi will welcome you in once you enter the office. My main doctor was Dr. Cheung. Dr. Choy would take care of me if I dropped by on the days Dr. Cheung wasn't available. They are both great doctors but best thing about them is how they make you feel comfortable getting treated there after a huge traumatizing car accident. HAPPY spine means body functions better! Finally sought Chiro care when last straw broke. My hands were both numb, cold,right toes were turning in when I walked pulling my hip out of joint, My tally of spinal problems include- whiplash from '96 C1 + torn ligament-causes pain, migraines, visual problems, numb fingers, inability to use hands for a while in morning., Bulging discs in neck & low back. Painful chronic muscle tightness in between shoulders up through neck to skull. Hypermobile lumbar region, sciatica, severe back spasms-incapacitating, both hips out of whack- painful. short leg syndrome from year in brace after bone tumor removed as a kid. Fibromyalgia. Etc. I also have a few illnesses that keep me feeling horrible ALL the time. I found Dr. Cheung on my insurance healthcare provider site, and checked against Yelp. Who takes chiro HMO? THIS GUY! I'd seen other prominent chiropractors in Pasadena years ago but didn't like the pressure I got from one to sue the hospital I'd developed allergies to years ago to throw biz to a lawyer he knew, or another who sold supplements and included unnecessary things like "muscle testing" to determine my stress as if I didn't know! I'd given up on true therapeutic chiro help without being pestered for non chiro things. I was nervous about my neck being done 1st visit, reflex! Dr. Cheung said "Don't worry, I have soft hands" then did the gentlest but best neck adjustment - I yelled "C1!!" Sorry other patients, couldn't help it, that had always been extremely difficult to adjust, he moved my neck like melted butter- soft smooth gentle but SO effective! The rest of spine &hips were done so well- I walked out feeling better than I had in years!!! Muscle memory will try to put you back, so scheduling for a few weeks in a row to help your body Learn where it's supposed to be is super important- but he hasn't ever tried to sell that- he is there for you as you need & are able- but dedicate your time to heal! How it's helped- LESS pain- everywhere!! Walking like a normal person! So able to move better, faster, more comfortably. Now I can start an exercise program to help drop the weight I gained with illnesses. I can SEE over my shoulder to check for traffic when driving! Sleeping better -not waking in pain, numbness in hands & feet decreased, no hard core back spasms since!
