    11/2022 Christmas tree preserver

Once you start buying Tajiri trees they send you a card for discount for the next year and they help you drill a hole in the bottom to put it on the stand. Lots of tree selections even snow looking trees with great service, if you need help to the car they will help you carry the tree to your car too! One year, we went on Black Friday and we stood in line for an hour to get in, this year went on Thanksgiving day no line whoohoooo!!!! Might be a new Thanksgiving tradition lol

My husband and I have been purchasing Tajiri Christmas trees for about 10 years now. We've always received amazing customer service. We always get the flocked ones, they are so beautiful and the trees always have lasted us till after New Years. Will continue to purchase for as long as they are willing to come back to Hawaii.

Lot is open until 9 pm!

Finding that perfect fresh cut Christmas Tree here in Hawaii, can be daunting task, if you don't know the source or supplier. Tajiri's Richard Christmas Trees delivers a quality product that looks and smells as fresh as the Forest. While the price is a bit on the expensive side, we have been satisfied with a smaller 3 foot Noble Fir size that brings the spirit of Christmas alive! The staff here is always friendly and assists you with trimming, providing a mesh wrap for transporting, carrying your tree and loading it into your car after you show proof of purchase. Make sure to get on their mailing list to receive a postcard that will give you 10% savings on your purchase each year and is a good reminder of when they will be set up usually just after Thanksgiving.

So, I started decorating my tree and wasn't sure if if it was my imagination, but, I thought maybe it was beginning to turn. I called Richard Tajiri's people and they said it was odd. I took delivery of the tree 12 days ago. I took pictures and sent them to Paula. She said to come down to the lot and she'd give me a tree IV. FOR REAL!! Paula said, every once in a while they have a tree that "just doesn't like being cut". She explained how to use the IV. Simply drill a whole into the trunk with the provided drill bit, insert the IV, fill the reservoir with water and tree preservative and place the reservoir higher than the inserted IV. By golly, it worked!! The IV revived my tree. I'd say, this is the best tree I have ever had! The white flocked tips really add that Christmas feeling.

Tajiri trees are is always the centerpiece of our family Christmas.

It's been a long lasting family tradition dating back to the late 70's. My mother would buy her tree from Mr. Tajiri himself. He was always so helpful and delivered the most absolute beautiful trees.

Need to trim the top a bit of this 9ft tree

Koolau Farmers is a locally owned/operated nursery and garden supply business that are home…read moregardening experts. It was started in 1938 by East Oahu farmers and a Kailua papaya cooperative as a farmer-founded business entity that shifted from farming to home gardening. Today, it supplies plants, floral arrangements, fertilizers, pesticides, garden tools, etc. for home gardeners. There are currently two locations for Koolau Farmers: Kaneohe and Honolulu (McCully). This review is for the Honolulu location. Items that the McCully location carry include: bromeliads, flowers, fruit, orchids, palms, fruit trees, peppers, tropical fruits, shrubs, soil, trees, veggies, hono hono orchids, dwarf fruit trees (Meyer lemon, Tahitian limes, Naval oranges, jabong, grafted mango, avocado). It also offers seed starting supplies, fertilizers for plants and flowers, worm composting bins; and info re growing and care of indoor potted plants, organic gardening, soil testing, and proper lighting. What brought us to Koolau Farmers is my lilikoi vine that I've had in my back yard for a number of years. With the help of bees, the vine had flourished and produced many delicious fruits for homemade lilikoi desserts, such as lilikoi chiffon pie, lilikoi curd, lilikoi bars, and more. But in recent years, the flowers would bloom, but because there are no bees to pollinate the lilikoi flowers, no fruits are produced. Questions to Koolau Farmers confirmed that there is a lack of nesting sites for carpenter bees (I think they're known as the black bumblebees that we no longer see) to pollinate the lilikoi flowers, resulting in a lack of fruit. According to Koolau Farmers, the flowers must be hand-pollinated instead. Staff provided instructions to my hubby on how to hand-pollinate the beautiful lilikoi flowers. A work in progress, and I'm sure more questions to follow. Then the next project will be our dwarf local orange tree. Where is the fruit? There's a single tiny orange on it, yes, only one! Hope Koolau Farmers can help us on this one! Another work in progress. Staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, and provides helpful guidance. An unlikely spot in urban Honolulu to have a nursery and garden supply store, but I'm glad that it's there! The interior space is not that big, but houses boxes of fertilizers and various home gardening equipment for home gardeners. There may be displays of seasonal items on how to grow certain plants, such as hono hono orchids. Open daily from 8a to 5p. Free parking in the private lot. On the outside private lot are scattered variety of healthy local plants, herbs, orchids, and fruit trees. We look forward in working with Koolau Farmers and knowing that they are there to help us with our home gardening needs!

Located in same warehouse as the outbreak experience during Halloween time, and with long hours, it's easy to access with plenty of parking. The atmosphere inside the warehouse is nice with a variety of different trees standing around, stage with bales of hay (live music Friday nights), a checkout area with a bunch of Coca Cola products and a mini Christmas village, and loud Christmas music playing. There is unique lighting inside the warehouse of blue and different color spotlights, that can make it hard to see and pick out your favorite tree, but add to the ambiance of the place. I think the biggest draw I've seen here is the fake snow that they turn on every hour (or if you ask nicely). It makes for great pictures. Their trees are comparable in price range and are very beautiful but if you're on a budget like we were, they have a 50% off section where I got a six foot tree for $31. Along with my purchase I also got cookies to sample! One of the downfalls is they are not equipped to attached the tree to your car like other locations and I had to buy rope from nearby Sports Authority to tie it to my car. Also depending on what time you come, they seem to be a little short staffed albeit very helpful. All in all, I had a great experience here and have a beautiful tree for the season!

Its more than just picking a tree with them, they make it a whole experience! They serve complimentary cocoa, they have super cute live music, lighting, decorations, a snow machine, Christmas music, and they display their trees as if you are walking into a Christmas tree farm. Love!! We went a little late on their grand opening, so we missed the real snow on the trees, but gosh, imagine that? Looking for trees with real snow on them?! Love!! We didn't buy a tree the first night we went, but we went back two or three days later and they remembered us. How sweet! On top of that, the trees, all of them, are almost perfect!! So you really don't need to spend time going through a load of trees because each one is nearly perfect. Not kidding! When they advertise, grade A trees, they are not lying. To top that off, their trees are affordable!! They split the pricing in three categories. The 5-6 footer that we bought was a Nordmann Fir at $60! They sell more than just trees and wreaths! They have garland, bows, pine cones, coca cola products, and more. Oh yes, and we received a bag of Big Island Delights when we made our purchase! Such a great impression. THANK YOU Smoky Mountain Trees for spreading the Christmas spirit and cheer!

But when I checked the freezer, it appeared that it was working properly. I asked my dad if the fridge was okay? And he in turned told me that it was, so I really didn't think anything more of it. Several days later, after shopping for some food for my dad, when I was putting some produce items into his fridge, I again asked him if the refrigerator was okay, then he finally told me "maybe something was wrong". I rechecked the settings on the refrigerator, rechecked the vents from the freezer, seals on the door, and everything appeared to be okay. Being that my dad's refrigerator was 11 years old (I remembered buying it in 2014), I guess it was time for a replacement. Luckily for me, November has rolled around and since a lot of folks will be feasting towards the end of November, "Black Friday" sales have started & Home Depot has their big "Black Friday" sales event for the entire month of November. At first I went to Best Buy, because I purchased the refrigerator & stove from there back in 2014, but upon arriving there, I couldn't get any help so I left the store & headed across the street to Home Depot. Upon lookin' at the fridges, I found a fridge that would fit in my dad's kitchen space & looked for a clerk to help me. Luckily I came across Kayli, and she was so helpful in processing my transaction. Timing was just right for me, as the delivery of the refrigerator was FREE due to the Black Friday sales, and I only had to pay $50 bucks for the removal of the old refrigerator. The refrigerator I purchased was in stock, so Saturday they will deliver it to our house. How's that for great service???!!! Much MAHALO Home Depot, and Kayli! You really helped us out of jam, as I realky needed a running refrigerator, especially since Thanksgiving is just around the corner!

I can safely say this Target passes my restroom accessibility check. Having access to a public restroom makes such a big difference, especially when you're out running errands. Unfortunately, the family restroom was completely trashed during my visit. I'm grateful that businesses offer these facilities, but seeing conditions like this also makes me understand why some businesses may hesitate to keep their restrooms open and accessible to everyone. I hope we can all do our part by treating these shared spaces with respect. A clean restroom is a small thing that can make someone's day so much easier.
