I stopped by ScrubaDub on my lunch break last week with a car wash voucher from my car dealership…read more(oil change gets you a free wash, woohoooooo). I usually go to the one in Natick on my way home from the dealer, but the Shrewsbury branch is only 5 minutes from my work. The service in Shrewsbury is outstanding. The guys in Natick are really impersonable and get pretty passive aggressive when you pull out the free wash voucher. Regardless, I pulled up for a standard car wash in Shrewsbury, and the attendants there were extrememly nice, and they gave me a free 5 minute vaccuum token for after the wash! Apparently they do this for everyone, but I like to feel special. After the wash I got out of my car to vaccuum and noticed that my car was still really dirty... and I drive a white car. Simultaneously, I realized I had put my token into the "car wipe" machine instead of the "vaccuum" machine. The car wash attendant saw me make the mistake and immediately came over to help with not just one new vaccuum coin, but two! Just because! (: He also noted my dirty white car had not been cleaned the first time around, so he told me to pull around and I would get another free wash. Awesome! After my second wash, as I was finishing up my 5 minute vaccuum sesh, the attendant gave me a brochure promotion for $19.99 monthly unlimited washes. Each basic wash is $15, so if I go twice with my white car (that gets exceptionally dirty in the winter) I'll get my money back and then some! Definitely will be returning!

One of the biggest advantages for me is that they offer a touchless option--many car washes don't. For Tesla owners, that's a significant benefit, as Tesla car wash mode is a PIA! Traditional conveyor-style tunnel washes can be a hassle with a Tesla because you need to activate Car Wash Mode before driving onto the conveyor belt: 1. Put the Model 3 in Park. 2. On the touchscreen, select: Controls -- Service -- Car Wash Mode. 3. While keeping your foot on the brake, select Enable Free Roll. 4. Once Free Roll is engaged, release the brake. 5. And do these quickly while it's your turn! I've only used a traditional conveyor wash with my Tesla once, and that was enough. I struggled to get the car into Free Roll quickly enough, and the staff had to stop the conveyor until I did. That's why I prefer Fitzy's touchless wash. I simply park the car, and the equipment does the rest--no rushing, no stress, and no worries about getting into Free Roll at the right moment. The dryers could be a bit more effective, but Fitzy's provides towel stations so you can quickly dry any remaining water spots before leaving. I've also used Fitzy's traditional conveyor wash with other vehicles, and it works well. Overall, I can comfortably recommend both options, with the touchless wash being my first choice for Tesla owners.

I inspected it after and saw the dent, alerted the young man who worked there. He was very apologetic and acknowledged the situation, but said he just worked there and couldn't do anything. He gave me a number to call. However, I called and it went to a fax machine. I found the number online and it was the same number. The damage isn't severe, but was enough to make me upset. I usually use the self serve and the touchless service, which are far safer. If I do decide to return, I'll use those options and avoid the popular drive through machines. Cheers!

Be Aware of potential wheel issues…read more... Prestige managed to put gouges in three of my wheels and thousands of hairline scratches in all 4. I was a customer, then VIP member for some time and no issues other than having to learn that the self service bays require not only turning to OFF but ALSO hitting the button on the credit card swipe device or you get charged $25 for a much shorter wash. In late February I received an offer to upgrade and add undercarriage and wheel cleaning for $5 more a month and did just that. Maybe a few days later noticed a gouge in my rear left wheel. Thought odd, no idea how that could happen as well above any "curb rash" line. Wrote it off to bad luck. A few washes later and front left wheel a different gash. Now I should note I am fastidious with ALL of my possessions and wipe mirrors and windows after each was and look the car over. At this point I am thinking something in the drive track they call banana peel was dinging my left wheels. I went back to see and agree, could not be possible. So looked at all wheels and went through. IMMEDIATELY after the wash noticed new gouge RIGHT front. I filed a claim with Prestige. My thoughts are this was winter. Truck in front of me and me as well had icycles dropping down from the read bumper areas. Maybe these had rocks or large salt in them and broke off from the "poodle brush" wheel cleaners and stuck around long enough to gouge me as the car behind. Regardless, there is ZERO doubt that last gouge, worst of the three, happened in that specific wash cycle. There is also no doubt, and not only my opinion but that of two wheel refinishers, that the thousands of hairline scratches were caused by these poodle brushes. Their "fixer" Tony is very good at denying their responsibility for this damage but I stand firm this is what happened and when and where caused. I filed for Small Claims court. Having no experience with Mediation, which could be scheduled sooner and was over Zoom so did not require showing top at the courthouse, I accepted that option. Prestige agreed. Scheduled for June 10 - almost 90 days wait. Prestige never showed up. So now a new in person court date needs to be set and has not. It cost $74.80 to file. I have real damages worth $600-800 not to mention time, gas to meet with Tony, etc. And they do not show and claim no responsibility. And months to even get the case heard. I cancelled my membership, of course. Await the trial. But be advised this can/does happen and they will not accept responsibility nor the courtesy of attending mediation to try to reach agreement.
