He is currently working out of a flea market building off Eisenhauer Road. To get to him, you need to go around to the back of the building and go up the stairs where you see the Dyson sign, he is just inside the door and to the left. His space is pretty cramped, but it is clear he is still doing a brisk business. He also fixes and sells sewing machines and lamps in addition to all types of vacuums. Anyway, we have a Dyson V10 that wasn't working so we took it to Richard. He diagnoses for free! The vacuum needed a full service/cleaning (not surprising after 5 years of use) as well as a new circuit board. The total charge before tax was around $128, which is a lot less than buying a new vacuum! The vacuum came back to us looking like new and works properly again. I am only giving 4 stars because something with how the canister was reattached isn't quite right, and it is difficult to push the lever to empty it after vacuuming. We may have to take it back to Richard to have him adjust that. Also, be aware that as of right now he is cash or Venmo only! I told him about Square and how he can start accepting credit cards and he seemed interested in that concept, but best to assume he doesn't take credit cards unless this page gets updated later.

However, as he tested the unit he noticed a strange 'clicking' coming from the dryer, something I'd been used to hearing for the past year. Upon opening the machine, we found that the drive belt was so worn that a chunk of it was rubbing against the inside! Mike did not pressure us to fix it, and it was obvious that it needed to be replaced. So he stayed a bit longer to get the job done, saving us the cost of calling him back out. Definitely a great service, and I've kept their card - should any of our other appliances break, I know who to call and ask for!

While here, he did clean the dryer vent, and quoted $310 for the repair to the washer. That included a sensor and a new motor since it (motor) had to be removed to get to the sensor. He said it was probably bad, too. My husband set up the repair appointment following Monday, as he was taking a day off from work. Monday morning I texted him but we received no response until later that afternoon. Mr. Alexander said he hadn't ordered the parts because he needed to research the problem. Uh... that doesn't jive with what he said when he was here. He also told my husband it would be another $200 for one of the parts, making the total $510 instead of $310. On top of that, he doesn't take credit cards, which is a big red flag. So, that's the end of that.

They responded to my text amazingly fast. I texted them early Sunday morning around 7 AM. Told me someone would be coming by 11-1 PM. I thought that was awesome. BTW not a fan of AI, but their AI call center is amazing. 1 PM (name withheld) shows up with his tool bag and walks in. He seemed to be in a hurry on the way in and on the way out. He pulls the refrigerator off the wall, does (something?) Pushes it back and tells me "my compressor is dead". He sends me an estimate for $1046.78. I place $100 cash down to get repairs booked so I now owe $946.78 on a "dead compressor" repair. He then scoots out the door after maybe 15 minutes. Knowing a compressor failure is a costly failure, it caused us quite a bit of stress. I decided, against the advice of my wife, to still give ProStar a try. She was ready to cancel repairs and buy a new costly refrigerator which I talked her out of because I know almost all brands are garbage except for Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid. Here comes Shawn on Tuesday. Super guy, diagnosed the problem correctly with pictures for me, got to the part that was actually malfunctioning (freezer fan assembly with faulty sensor causing a big block of ice over it) and got it back up running for way less than "a dead compressor" like "expert" (name withheld) said. $481 bill plus my $100 deposit. I'm giving you all 4-5 stars because of the initial poor customer service I got.

He arrived early and was personable but after dismantling my ice maker, discovered the wrong part was sent, he stated "they sent the wrong part." He placed a box of parts next to my sink on a very narrow counter despite the entire island being free to use and in the process of putting everything in the box, he knocked the box into my sink. I assumed he would make extra sure that he retrieved everything that fell into my sink but in fact missed a screw. Upon leaving, with my ice maker part that was broken, said he would order the correct part and find out from AHS how to return the wrong part and get reimbursed. Said he would be in touch to come back. A few minutes after he left, I had to run the disposal and since there was a screw in it, it lodged in my disposal rendering it unusable. I called and the wife said "we weren't there to work on your sink." I explained again, and asked that he please come back and help me fix this since he did spill his parts box in my sink and again she told me they didn't do that and were not responsible. I called AHS who refused to help me. I received a text from the wife a few days later saying they were under fraud investigation and could not work on any appliances until cleared. I text a couple weeks later asking for a status and was ignored. I text again a week later and informed them that AHS still claims they are my technician and I want my ice maker fixed, no reply. I still have a broken appliance and no resolution, I hope no one else has to go through this, it has cost me a fortune fixing my disposal and still no working ice maker and they stole my parts.

It has been less than 2 months since the service was done and the same issue is already happening again. Now nobody will return my calls, texts, or emails. They took my money and ran.
