We pre-ordered a farm fresh turkey for Thanksgiving and came from 45 minutes to get it. We were happy to pay more than double the price for what is available in nearby grocery stores to support a local business and for a better quality product. Now that we have it home we are extremely upset to see that it is frozen inside, and absolutely no different than a store-bought turkey, with giblets sealed in a commercial bag, and the familiar plastic leg cinchers. The process date is a code to conceal how long ago it was killed. We are sure it will be "fine" but not at all as advertised. We feel ripped off. read more

Ok I have been coming to Richardson farm's since they were in just a small building up front. Well today I found a gem I had no idea that they had. I am a BBQ lover and I have traveled this country and ate some of the best BBQ in every state. While at Richardson I see that the have brisket Baled beans. I really didn't think much of it cause what could a farmers market store know about BBQ!! So just for giggles I ordered a medium container to go, and I kid you not these are the absolute best brisket beans I have ever eaten hands down! They don't play here it's not your typical brisket beans they put chunks of brisket in here people and tender chunks of delicious brisket. The lady that helped us wasn't that friendly but that didn't ruin the experience for us. I shop here weekly. I've noticed in recent months that the quality and freshness of the fruits, vegetables, cooked foods and baked goods has declined. The fruits and veggies don't last very long after purchase and the store baked items are stale. The display of oranges had several moldy pieces of fruit with gnats flying around...3 for $2.00 The flavors of the cooked foods are not consistent...good one day and salty the next. The less popular food items aren't discarded...pushing the shelf life and selling spotted and overly ripened fruits. I paid over $3.00 for a small bag of brussel sprouts and several were rotten. To their credit, the raw poultry is always fresh. These issues are either greed or poor management. I don't like to waste food or money, but lately I've been doing both. read more

Well this was our first time ever going to Richardson. My mom,sisters and I were searching for a good place to get something to eat on our girlfriend getaway weekend. We came across Richardson Farms during a yelp search. Oh my God, I can't say enough about this place. The staff are friendly. Atmosphere is super relaxed. The food is phenomenal and so fresh tasting. We all got something different just because there were so many interesting choices. After we purchased our meal, we sat out on their patio area to eat our meal. Now I must say, we are a family of excellent cooks and not one of us was disappointed with our meals. ( i.e. macaroni and cheese, collard greens, ribs, buffalo wings, Italian sub, Maryland crab soup, pulled pork, old Bay buttered corn, etc.). After our meal, we ended up purchasing fresh produce, meats, baked goods and "to go" items to take home with us. This will definitely be our forever go to for our next White Marsh girlfriend getaway. read more

As I'm writing this review, I'm eating a gooey, warm, delicious banana nut muffin spread with butterscotch peanut butter... All made with fresh ingredients from this gem of a gourmet grocery store! The place is packed to the brim with mouth-watering local produce, jams, ice cream, candies, sauces, pastas, bread, meat, eggs, cheese.... I could go on and on. A lot of the items are made in-house by Richardson Farms, including peanut butter (try the butterscotch flavor), salad dressings (try the tomato and vidalia onion), freshly churned butter, and pickles. Surprisingly, the price point is cheaper than Whole Foods. In the back of the store is a deli. To me, this is the highlight of Richardson Farms. The sandwiches and salads they make are some of the best I've had in the area. The Pretzel Dip is one of my favorites: a huge stack of ham, cheddar cheese, crispy onions, and house-made tangy mustard on a pretzel roll. *Wipes drool off of chin* Every day they have different specials which they post online, so it's worth checking often to see what's being offered! They have a little patio/ greenhouse area where you can sit at a table and chow down on the food you just got from the deli. Even on a chilly day, it's warm enough in there for a nice leisurely meal. I wish I lived closer to this gem of a grocery store where most of the produce comes from their own farm! All the snacks and goodies are either organic or locally produced and they are seriously delicious. I am not normally a person who eats chicken but there wings are so good, I can't help myself and everyday they have 2 different flavors, I suggest you LIKE them on Facebook so you can find out what they have every day because they are all delicious!!! I came here for a work event last night and I cannot tell you how awesome this place is. I was impressed right after walking through the door, but I was blown away when I found honey roasted sesame sticks a few moments later (being that I've been desperate to find them after having an amazing trail mix on a recent road trip). All in all, their facilities are expansive and impressive, the store has a great selection, and the food is amazing--the owner actually described the restaurant as "grain to chef". Everything I ate was delicious and I left the event satisfied and happy with the entire dining experience... and that's rare for me as a pescatarian. Kudos to Richardson Farms! read more

The food is fresh, flavorful and just delicious! I always come for the wings because they are so well cooked. Never chewy, but always still tender. The sides tastes so homemade. If you don't feel like cooking, this is the place to go. Went here twice in a week- that's how tasty it was. If you're on a diet, forget about it! I had the honey old bay wings with mac and cheese, collard greens and corn bread. They also have a fresh deli and a market for your grocery needs. I have to admit I thought this place was just a **little** over hyped. Not just on Yelp but by my family. I guess more so since I was hearing all this awesome stuff about it but didn't realize how tiny the store is! I do love that they have local produce and products. They had a wonderful selection of apples at a decent price and I loved all their fall decorations. Produce can be a little pricey for what you get (especially for greens like spinach and arugula) but other produce was averagely priced. I read a few reviews that said the wings were really good, so my mom and I took some home! They fell off the bone and were delicious. Their Chicken Pot Pie is out of this world!! I almost passed it up because it's a little pricey but I am so glad I didn't. It's very flavorful and so filling that my daughter and I could share. I will have to control myself to not write a gigantic review. My friend and I went together for the first time and it was a hit. We had a great time, we found the freshest produce and fruits for an unbelievable price! They also have variety of more local farm products which is really great! I am very excited to have a place like this close to where I live. They have a section of meats I couldn't really check very well because of the line they had of people and family getting food, hot rotisserie chicken and all the goods. But for what I could see, the prices were great. They even had chicken and turnkey gizzards! Its was around Thanksgiving but there still have so many pumpkins and their prices are amazing! It doesn't get better than this. I bought so much food. It lasted my husband and I two weeks or more and I spent $80. I had from organic turkey bacon to fresh local farm spinach, kale, oranges.... I also got, finally, a reasonable price for lemons! Even good price on walnuts and dried prunes. Organic local delicious everything. I got so-much. It was fantastic. What a great find!! A coworker took me here for lunch and I was amazed that Richardson Farms has delicious prepared food as well as tons of awesome treats. 1. PRODUCE. A giant collection of fresh fruits and vegetables. I couldn't even begin to name what I saw but I did try a raw radish and it was crunchy, spicy, and so so so fresh. I'm sure that all the other produce is just as fresh. One of my coworkers told me that he bought the best apple that he's ever tried from Richardson Farms! 2. PUMPKINS. It was around halloween time when I stopped here and wow, they had the most amazing pumpkin, squash, and gourd collection! There were the typical round and orange pumpkins, perfect for jack o lanterns. But there were also pumpkins that were green, white, and in crazy shapes! Some of these pumpkins had warts all over them and strange bumps and lumps, so really perfect for fall decorating. 3. SNACKS. There was a giant wall of snacks, granola mixes, candies, gummies, all for sale by the checkout. They come in smaller packages so you don't have to feel guilty when you're treating yourself. 4. HOT FOOD. Toward the back, you will probably see a long line of people waiting to get hot prepared food. I tried the rotisserie chicken. The 1/4 portion is either white meat or dark meat and you can choose. You can also add on two sides and a drink. Richardson's Farms in White Marsh is a good place to go for food, produce, plants, etc. However, every staff member should be MASKED. I don't care if it is mandated or not, they should be MASKED. They are handling food, preparing food, cutting food and handing it directly to customers. Also, every customer should be required to wear a MASK. It is close quarters walking around because it is not a huge place and MASKS would make it much safer from COVID and DELTA. And, I could have done without the woman walking around, without a mask, coughing and hacking, REPEATEDLY, without covering her mouth, while standing over the produce, picking out peaches and coughing directly into them, same for the tomatoes and plums, and at other locations in the store, simply walking around and loudly coughing a sick cough. I couldn't get out fast enough. I'm done with Richardson's until the COVID numbers are way down or unless they make MASKS MANDATED for employees and customers. read more

Was torn between a 3 and a 4. It depends on what you are looking for here. The sandwiches are pretty substantial if you are in the mood for that but would be much better if they locally sourced their breads - bread looks like nothing special. They earn the 4th star with the lovely outdoor eating area surrounded by plants and the fact that they carry Taharrka Brothers and other local ice creams . I've gone here for what will be my last time today. What used to be good food and excellent service has become just down right nasty. I was at the hot bar with a friend when the nasty lady behind the hot bar was just nasty at any question my friend asked. I thought okay just get through this. But when I ordered my food, she became even nastier all because she proceeded to fix the wrong food (she put mashed potatoes on my plate when I didn't ask for them). She gave me the look of death when I called it to her attention. To prevent arguing with her, I simply asked her colleague if she could fix my food because I just didn't want to even deal with her nasty attitude. The thing is she got an attitude about my not wanting her to fix my food. Then after the much nicer lady began fixing my plate, she was still mouthing of at her colleague because I didn't like her attitude and wanted someone else to fix my plate. Like really I'm the paying customer and I don't have the right not to have you and your nasty disposition fix my food? I didn't argue with her, get nasty with her or anything. But these folks at Richardson's have adopted too much of a sense of entitlement like customers have to come because they're Richardson's...and the quality of the food has gone down. I really want to like Richardson's but it is basically Texas Roadhouse meets an Amish market and if you like those joints you will like Richardson's. I do not. I actually spit out their brisket tonight- dry, tough and covered in some Mcrib-like sweet brown sauce. No thanks. I can get real brisket and bbq at several authentic local spots. The chicken and wings are average, but why would you indulge when there are so many better local options at Peruvian chicken carryouts? They do have a great variety of dips, snacks and produce. It really bothers me to write such a marginal review. Been going to this place for years. Fresh produce nice hot foods good deli. Prices a bit high on most things you can get in the supermarket but again fresh. My biggest concern is there seems to be a bit of racism in the air of this establishment. Not sure why such an experience here and there, also previously at the farmers market, when clearly it's diverse clientele frequents the place and we're WELL paying customers. My wife won't even go back which is not good because at Northeast market in town the staff were remarkably friendly and accommodating. Not saying it's a bad place but we should be conscious of who we spend our good dollars with for sure. read more

Now that Halloween is over, I wonder what they are going to do with all of the extra space cleared by getting rid of their giant pumpkins! Seriously, these Maryland State Fair sized monstrosities (in the best way possible) took up a lot of room. Even if you're not in the market for pumpkins though, and that market is probably down to people who like to make pies at this point, the produce here is top notch! I first learned about this active farm market on PBS and its reality lined up to its television persona. There are rows upon rows of greens and other dirt based products. They did not disappoint my foodie lady with its choice of fresh vegetables. What impressed me more, however, was the supply of locally sourced products from outside of their farm. If you want to shop for Maryland products of all sorts their freezers are lined with them. And if it is too much trouble to even wait until you get home, there's a deli counter as well. The lines were really long when I went so I didn't try them but the price board showed a sandwich here as one of the cheaper options around White Marsh. Being as it's on the wrong side of Baltimore for me, I might not make it back here soon. But it's definitely on my list if I decide to carve a gigantic Halloween pumpkin next year. read more

I wish I could do 4.5 stars, but since the past reviews lowered the overall score of this establishment to 4, I'm going to give 5 in hopes that it boosts it a bit. Let's start with what the store portion offers. Fresh produce, some even off of their farm depending on the season. We've taken to juicing at home and there's nothing like 2 lbs of kale for $2 or 1 lb of spinach for $1.89. There's not a grocery store in a 20 mile radius who can beat that. Decent prices on fruits and other veggies, inexpensive herbs and other bulk greens as well. They make their own salsas, dips and things, which are reasonably priced. They have an assortment of jarred pickled things and dressings and jams and the like. Makes you feel like you're at an old general store. Now... be careful of some of those products though, they make you feel like you're eating all natural because of the packaging, but some of the products still sport your hydrogenated this and refined that. Miss OC? They carry Fishers popcorn! There's an assortment of candies, nuts and other packaged snackies. Over by the deli, they make their own pastries and stuff. There's all natural fresh made peanut butter, almond butter, etc. There's a refillable fresh press for your olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Cool, right? We checked out the lunch since we were there to pick up our greens. They have a you pick two combo. Choice of half sandwich (ham and cheddar, turkey and swiss, chicken salad, italian or grilled cheese) small soup of the day, salad, or baked potato. I opted for cream of crab and chicken salad on ciabatta. The soup was up to par with anyone who's ever had it. The chicken salad was ok, but the bread was nice and warm, really soft. Usually with ciabatta you have to fight with it. My husband got ham and cheese, and the warm bread really complimented his sandwich better than my cold salad. I'm looking forward to trying the turkey and swiss with maybe a baked potato next time. :-) read more

They also have tons of nuts & seeds (Paleo dieters would love this place), various meats, homemade peanut butter, jam, old school candy, & more. They also offer a nice sized nursery with tons of plants and flowers to choose from. The staff is very efficient and friendly. Do yourself a favor, skip Walmart/Giant/Shoppers, and hit up Richardson Farms for some local goodness. You will not regret it :) read more

My absolute favorite. Cannot go wrong here. Whether it's the sandwiches and salads or deli meats and other stuff to go. My faves on the prepared food side are the Angry Bird sandwich (I get it on rye) and the brisket on Wednesdays. The salads are great. Friday's crabby Mac off the hook. Also love the baked beans on Wednesdays. The deli meats are always fresh and tasty. The family meals (rotisserie chicken with 2 sides and corn bread) always a hit. Produce good. Ice cream delish. Love all the butters and jams. I bring all my out of town visitors here for lunch (love sitting outside when weather nice, or even in greenhouse when it's not) and they're always impressed. Pros: Good, small selection of produce and very good selection of meats. The folks who work here are friendly. It's certainly off the beaten path of people in a little town next to White Marsh, MD but if you're close, check it out. There's a lunch and dinner spot and the back of the store where you can get prepared foods, sandwiches, wraps, soups, etc. There's a free parking lot. There's also a large climate controlled greenhouse on the side where you can go have lunch, etc. Cons: Location is not super accessible. Food in the back of the store for lunch or dinner is loaded with salt. Not healthy at all. For a farm, I expected healthier selections of sauces, groceries, and prepared foods but this isn't the case. In one instance, the jellies and sauces with peppers, etc had high fructose corn syrup in it and some pasta had articifial flavors and colors. What?!? Where do they grow THAT on a farm? Overall: Not bad for a lunch in the greenhouse if you don't have high blood pressure or if you choose a plain wrap without the added items. Good two in one spot - pick up a few groceries and a sandwich. Free parking is a win. However, the "farm" part is misleading as there's hardly any organic or pesticide free items. read more
