The cheesesteaks, cheese fries and Italian hoagies are almost as good as the ones in the Philadelphia area, but not as good as in the city itself (lol). There are two locations with different independent owners, so there may be some differences between locations (this is not a corporation with a bunch of franchises). Our first time to Richie's didn't disappoint! We ordered the bacon cheese fries and The Works sub, OMG - see my pic. Both were amazing! I was initially worried about a long wait because the sign says 45 minutes, it took about 15. I'm glad we shared the sub because it was a good size. The bread is really soft and makes the sub so good. Definitely worth the stop! Only negative is the restaurant doesn't sell fountain drinks and has no ice for the two liter bought. read more

The food was very good but the service was subpar. This was my first visit to this restaurant that I was excited to try. The food was good enough but because of the poor service I won't be returning. When I was finished eating I still had 1/2 sandwich that I wanted to take home. Richie Cheesesteak has been changing in recent months. Often Richie is not at the actual restaurant doing the cooking. When he is in the Food Truck, the restaurant is just not as good. Also, from a Philly standpoint, the rolls regardless if they are true Amoroso or not, they cannot equal the rolls in Phila. They are not at all the same as Phila. They can never be the same if they are sent to Fla. The rolls in Philly are better. In fact, I have sometimes taken the meat off the roll and put in a Publix Baguette with some of the inside roll pulled out. It is actually more like Philly rolls! As far s the steak, recently on a visit, the steaks were not up to par and the fries were actually poor. The fries were soaked in oil and undercooked. I'm sorry to be a downer but after years of great cheesesteaks and fries it was an off day. I always recommend Richies as the best, but recently I have been less certain. Also sometimes the help is not pleasant and not as efficient when he is not there. I will always eat at Richie's but if things don't go back to "normal" I will have to consider trying other places as well. I am from the Philadelphia area and am a cheesesteak purist..... if it is listed on a menu as "steak and cheese", it insults my inner being and I know it will be inedible.... I am happy to inform you that this is definitely NOT the case with Richie's! I my taste buds and belly are so happy to have found a cheesesteak home away from home, this is the real deal. The meat had no taste. The roll was soggy & the French fries were loaded with salt. I live in Hudson & when I want a great Cheese Steak, I will drive to Dunedin. Stopped once a few months ago since moving from Pittsburgh 2 years ago. Have tried at least 6 other so called Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches in the area at different venues. But none came close to what I had figured the sandwich should be like. Last Friday I talked the wife into coming here for a change of pace from our normal dining choices. Our early plans for dinner were delayed until around normal rush crowds on a weekend. While wife looked at the menu online she was advised of a possible wait for the order. Placed our order by phone and was told a possible 30 minute period for our order. Arrived shortly before order was promised and only waited a short period. Ate in dining room while watching steady flow of take oust orders. Wife got the works sandwich and I had the 3 cheese. Both came on a maybe 9" soft roll that was fresh and soft. The steak was not the typical shaved steak found on other sandwiches but was thick and juicy. Piled on thick and cooked to perfection. Although the meal was not inexpensive but in area of $13 for each the meal was very satisfying and worth every penny. The wife needed to finish hers for breakfast Saturday morning.
