My wife and I lived through ten agonizing days with our A/C working on and off, mostly off during the day with inside the house temperature of 85 F degrees. Running fans and drinking ice water did not mitigate our struggle. Our A/C unit is only one year and ten months old. The technician who installed our A/C had been injured on a job and was incapacitated. I asked a friend, who works for Goodman Air Conditioning to help. He send someone who just looked at the A/C unit inside the house but would not do anything. Then went outside and looked at the Condenser/compressor while murmuring under his nose. Then he said "I am not cheap. You know." He said we got a big time problem but would not say what the problem was. That was on a Thursday morning. He said, he was busy and could come back the next Monday to work on our "big problem." I asked him for a ball park figure for the repairs but he answered that did not know exactly, however it would be about the cost of a new Goodman A/C because our A/C was a piece of crap. The next morning I walked to our Club house and asked for help. They gave my Richie Rich Services address and phone number. Richie had recently installed a new A/C system in our Club House. I called Richie, explained the problem and asked for help. In about an hour and a half his truck pulled in front of my home. They went to work right away and in less than an hour had the A/C going. They explained everything they were doing and told me that I did not need a new unit. Richie explained to me to watch for certain things in the next few days and call him right of way. Not only is he a highly qualified professional but a real human being. Seeing how distressed we were, he assured me that he would come as soon as he heard from me. His exact words were "We are here for you when you need us." He kept his word. A few days later on Monday, I called Richie again and reported about the symptoms he had warned me about. He himself and Fred were at my house in about 35 minutes. They worked furiously, while explaining everything they were doing. It was like having dear friends helping you with your problem. Richie and Fred took care of our A/C system in about an hour. Our A/C has been humming along just fine. We have a 'package' AC unit that sits outside the home with a vertical cold air (forced air) to the attic, and a horizontal cold air return underneath a closet. Every 3-5 months the cooling fins would be covered in dust and dirt until the unit would freeze over, inevitably when we hosted family for the weekend. Our former AC guy sold my better half a new unit while I was out of town, and claimed that we needed a new unit again when they were here to clean the cooling fins, until I showed him the bill his colleague sold us before, and fired him on the spot. I then called a buddy of mine in Ft Lauderdale and asked him if he 'had an AC guy'. He gave me Richie's number, and turns out we had met before. He diagnosed the problem over the phone, and sent two gentlemen to install a duct for the cold air return underneath the closet. The lack of ductwork, concealed underneath the elevated closet floor was allowing dust and bits of blown insulation to keep contaminating the cooling fins. The guys I fired had cleaned this thing at least 5 times till I was on to them. Finished product is beautiful, silent and haven't had a problem in well over a year. Until earlier this week. When of course my brother in law arrived. Called Richie after hours and to my surprise he had my name programmed into his phone, and promised to send somebody up first thing in the morning. Fred called on his way to confirm the appointment which was considerate. Then a few minutes later, he called to inform me that there was a wreck on 95 and he would be a few minutes late. Who does that? Richies team, that's who. Turns out the transformer was getting 240v, but wasn't putting out any. Fred had a transformer on the truck, and called me with a solution before proceeding with the repair. Here's the deal. I was raised in a small town in Illinois, and business owners knew better than to go around screwing people like the aforementioned clowns I fired. I began working with this company about 4 years ago. My air conditioner stopped working and the first company I called quoted me an outrageous price. Good afternoon, I just had my a c service by this company and they are so good.It started with my a c going out a few days ago and called my landlord.The coordinator I think her name is miss, natalie called me, and we coordinated, and then the tech was in the area a few days early and tried to get it done.But we couldn't get it done.So just today it got done, but no matter it was great.The process was smooth, easy, comfortable.The tech is really nice.His name is Fred, he's, he's very nice, he's very kind, he's very knowledgeable, and he's explanatory.So if you ask questions, he doesn 't treat you like you're a chick that doesn't know nothing about air conditioning.Which is helpful.
