My review is a bit late; we did a party bus for holiday lights tour. We chose the option to meet at their pickup spot. It was easy to find and well lit. The person on the phone who helped me book the tour was very friendly and kind too. My family really enjoyed our experience. Matthew was an amazing driver and guide. Not my time hiring a car/limo, but first time using this company. The vehicle was not clean. Floors were not clean, cup holders not clean. I had requested, both verbally and in writing, that the vehicle have 4 champagne glasses and water (to be fair, I've never had to request water in a car for hire, water has always been provided). Neither were present upon pick up. (Our driver did obtain water while we were at our first drop off, which was appreciated.) Driver seemed unprepared and unsure of herself. Did not use GPS through the vehicle. Instead, used it on her phone - had verbal directions turned on which was incredibly disruptive and ruined the ambience in the vehicle. Her phone was not mounted properly so on at least two occasions, she missed turns. At our last drop off, she overshot the drop off so we walked up the block. Not a huge deal, but again, I hired a car for a reason, and the whole night missed the mark. Overall, our driver, while very nice, lacked the professionalism I am accustomed to when hiring a vehicle/limo. Honestly, I felt like I was in a mediocre Uber but paid a hired car price, which was extremely disappointing. Upon sharing my feedback with the company, an apology was offered. But I would have expected a partial refund of some sort as a reflection of the lack of service and professionalism. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with this company. Last year we booked a limo months in advance for a Quinceañera. I went to the office, left a deposit, and gave all the details to the lady in person. On the day of the event, they showed up with a party bus instead of the limo we booked. When I called to ask what happened, the lady was very rude and claimed she never confirmed a limo and that they "don't rent limos for Quinceañeras." This made no sense because my family has used this company for years. I had a party bus for my own Quinceañera, and just three years ago they rented us a limo for my cousin's Quinceañera with no problem. Instead of fixing their mistake, they said they had nothing available, refused to take any responsibility, didn't offer a refund, and didn't even try to resolve the situation. Our family have been trying to get a partial reimbursed for money paid for months, with no success, we are now taking them to small claims court. SITUATION: Our family contracted a 38-passenger bus to take us to a family reunion in New York. On the way back to Richmond the bus broke down in Philly, we had to wait FIVE HOURS at Wawa. The driver repaired the bus to get us to Maryland. The OWNER picked us up in Maryland on a party bus. Do not use Richmond Limousine. I led a group that used Richmond limo for transportation from Dulles Airport to the RVA area. When the driver picked us up I started helping him load the luggage. First, he dropped a handgun on the ground right in front of the airport. It went sliding across the road, and he scrambled to get it and put it back in his pocket. I understand that VA is a concealed carry state, and chauffeurs and drivers may feel it important to carry, but he needs to secure firearms if that is necessary. It was very unsettling. The major issue was the smell of the bus. As I was helping load luggage, I smelled an awful odor. I thought it was coming from the street. When I finally got on the bus, I immediately realized that the odor was coming from inside. I assume it was from a toilet on the bus. I don't know if it needed to be emptied, or if the tank was overflowing. At time it seemed to get a little better, but when we hit a bump or went into a curve the smell came back as strong as ever. Everyone had their faces covered with extra clothes and people were coughing and gagging. Almost to Richmond the driver opened his window, and it only made it worse as it pulled all of the fumes through the bus. It was embarrassing for me, and it was an awful experience. Several of our group became sick the next morning, and I would not be surprised if it was not connected with that bus and the squalor from that bathroom. read more

I booked an 8 hour Richmond-to-Charlottesville winery tour through Richmond Limo for a corporate outing and my team had a fantastic time. I believe I spoke with John over the phone to discuss options, and he was knowledgeable and accommodating. I selected a pre-set tour I thought my team would most enjoy, and John recommended swapping out one winery for another based on past guests' experiences. His recommendation was spot on: that winery turned out to be my team's favorite stop. He took my credit card information over the phone and our work was done; they handled the rest. I was emailed a full invoice with a breakdown of charges, information on the limo we chose, and a stop-by-stop itinerary for the tour. We chose the 16 passenger Executive Limo Mini Coach, which was very comfortable and had plenty of space for the team to stretch out and relax. Pickup and drop off in Richmond was on time, and the team was able to decide how long they wanted to stay at each winery; when they were ready to leave they simply hopped back on the limo and off they went to the next stop. The limo was stocked with water and soda, and we were welcome to bring our own food and beverages as well. It was a completely stress free trip, and I highly recommend their services. read more

My daughter and 2 of her teammates were flying into Richmond yesterday for a field hockey tournament. They fly without adults all the time, but they are usually on the "team flight" and a coach will meet them in their destination city. This time was the first time we couldn't get them on the same flight, which meant they were flying in hours ahead of the team and the coache's flight was cancelled, so he couldn't be there to meet them. Their very capable kids, but not old enough to be catching a cab without an adult. The best solution was to set up a private car pickup for them. Eric was their driver. He went above and beyond. Eric stayed in communication with me and he came inside and met the girls in baggage claim. The girls said he was very nice and they felt safe the whole time. I rented a party bus to celebrate my boyfriend going into the Air Force, and for me getting into graduate school. i called them weeks before to confirm that it would have Bluetooth that I could connect to. they said they would. I also asked if the bus would be the same exact one from the picture (the black bus shown without people). They said it would be. I got a message 10 minutes before the bus pulled up saying that they did not have bluetooth in the bus. Not even an hour before the bus so that I could arrange for a speaker. Then I go inside the bus, and it is NOTHING like the one I ordered. It turns out the bus I asked for A/C went out, and so they switched the nice hard wood floored bus with lights to a plain bus without Bluetooth. I was not even consulted as to which I would rather have: the bus I asked for without A/C or the bus without anything but A/C. I spent almost 2,000 and was extremely disappointed. read more

I was undecided on which vehicle we would need, considering we had a group of 14 people. I was thinking the Dodge Durango would've been a good fit for our group. I'm glad though I went to their office and spoke with Jenny at the front desk. She showed me that the limo mini coach would be a better fit for our group and she was right. And even better that it was not that much more in price compared to the Durango. Our Chauffeur, Lynwood was the best. He was there to pick us up at our destination early and offered to take pictures of our group and had ice for our drinks. We booked Richmond Limo for an all day (11.5 hours) excursion so 4 of us could to wine tastings in Charlottesville/Barboursville followed by dinner. From the moment I called and spoke to Jose, to the final drop in our driveway at 11:15 pm, we could not have been treated better! We did the 26 passenger party bus for my wife's 30th birthday and it was AMAZING!!! Our driver Michael was right on time (about 3-5min early). He listened to every direction I gave him and was very patient with our group. We enjoyed the bus so much that we even decided not to drive it for a bit and just park and enjoy a still dance floor. We had 22 adults and a few coolers on the ground. I felt as though our capacity was exactly right, so that's just an FYI. They provided us 26 waters and ice so that was awesome and they have plenty of trash cans (though we still brought bags). I highly, highly recommend this if you plan it right!! Set up a party bus rental in July for a September event, was promised a beautiful bus with bluetooth and all the bells and whistles. I went there to see the bus to ensure I wasn't going to be duped. Before final payment I followed up and the man told me the original guy I spoke with was fired but it was him. They also set me up with the oldest most run down bus they have and will not refund my money! Buses are not maintained, peeling paint, dirty , and inside equipment is damaged! I'd like to start off by saying the only reason we got a limo instead of a town car was so we could have privacy for conversation. The fact that when we got in the partition didn't work was annoying to say the least. The driver's music was absurdly loud. This should have been disclosed. I would not have spent the extra money for the limo otherwise. Secondly, the condition of the car was mediocre. There was a panel in the ceiling that was mal-aligned and appeared as though it could fall at any time, the windows looked like someone spit on them and wiped it around with their hands, the interior of the door was warped, etc. Also, while our chauffer was very nice, I'm unsure if he was falling asleep or texting on the way up to the mountains, but there was a lot of swerving on 64. Lastly, the fact that we got a flat tire on the way back and had to wait an hour to have someone come change it was ridiculous. How a car in a vehicle fleet does not have a jack or spare tire is beyond me. When the owner of the company got there to change the tire he basically bragged about the issues the cars in the fleet had. I tried to make this right with the company prior to making a bad review but never heard back from them. Stick with James Limousine. read more

I recently attended a wedding in which the bride and groom's send off limo driver was a no show without so much as a phone call. After witnessing the bride call multiple times, she finally got through to someone who said their limo was parked on the side of the highway. The driver clearly never called Richmond limo and no one contacted the bride and groom, who were left confused at the end of their sparkler send off. As a bride planning their wedding, I definitely would not hire Richmond Limo. We attended a wedding in Richmond this weekend. The limo itself was beautiful and comfortable. The ride was approximately 25 minutes long. The drivers were nice but drove way too fast, in my opinion for a vehicle this big with the roads they were traveling on. (They were narrow and extremely winding.) I asked several times, for them to slow down and perhaps they thought I was kidding. I wasn't!! At one point, we all felt one tire go off the road!! I thought we were all going to die! For me, this was a terrifying ride, I was scared to death! And I thought driving my own car would have been bad....boy was I wrong! read more

We hired Richmond Limousine to transport guests to and from their hotels to our wedding venue. One of the busses arrived over 15 minutes late and resulted in on of our ushers not being present for the initial seating. The only reason they were able to find the venue, which we were previously assured was a routine location for them, was via phone call to one of the guests on the bus who then guided the driver. Prior to hiring Richmond Limousine we had requested that the busses drop guests off in the town of Charlottesville after the wedding and prior to returning the guests to the hotel. This was written in a contract and paid for. We later found that not only did the busses not bring guests to the downtown area but that the bus drivers outright refused to do so when it was brought up by the wedding party. We've reached out to them multiple times trying to come to a resolution as we were not provided the services we paid extra for. They have ignored every phone call and email thus far. If you are getting married in the Richmond area, I would take your chances with just about any other transportation company before I'd hire Richmond Limousine for your event. read more

Had to catch flight west. 430 am pick up from Williamsburg to Richmond airport. No show no answer from drivers cell phone. Interesting confirmation text no photo but name of driver. After multiple attempts for a status update dispatcher says in a flippant response he must have slept in . No S##t. Happens on rare occasions. Oh really. I have never written a bad review. I feel everyone is entitled to bad days and not every experience is going to be great every time. I am realistic - However, Richmond Limo disappointed me on so many levels I felt I had to write a review so their poor business practice and ethics do not stain anyone's special occasion. Ultimately, I Did not get what I ordered. We ordered a limo bus for 17 people. We got a vehicle that did not safely fit the number of passengers we confirmed. One person had to sit up front with the driver, two people sat in laps and my brother had to sit on the cooler! I guess you can say thank goodness we were only going 5 miles? We set up a limo bus so my entire family could ride together and have fun on the way to celebrate my dads 90th birthday. We willingly paid $500 for the experience. Unfortunately, we did not get the vehicle we ordered after multiple back and forth calls prior to the event. See, Richmond Limo knew the vehicle they had listed was not the limo bus I ordered. I discovered their mistake when I called prior to the event to confirm our reservation. I told them the vehicle listed is not the one I ordered. They acknowledged the mistake, assured me they would have the limo bus I reserved to pick up my family. Unfortunately, they did not. They knew the vehicle was not going to fit our group and sent it anyway. In spite of Richmond Limos debacle, my family had a great night! After the event, I called to discussed what happened. I called 3 times, asked to speak with the owner and never got a call back. Poor service, poor follow up and no recourse to rectify their mistake. The only mistake I made for my wedding was hiring Richmond Limousine. I knew that the weekend of my wedding was a busy weekend for them, as it was the weekend of the 'tacky lights tour' in Richmond, so I emailed them specifically asking if they would be able to rent out one 55-passenger charter for the evening of our wedding to shuttle guests to and from the venue. They assured me that they would most definitely be able to accommodate the guests, and asked for us to pay over the phone for the deposit. I did so, and was really looking forward to the beautiful charter bus that they displayed at the venue and on their website. I emailed back and forth with the company twice to make sure that the timeline was accurate and that the guests would be picked up and dropped off at the correct time. The day of the wedding, guests staying at the hotels (30 minutes away) were calling friends and family already at the venue because the bus still hadn't arrived at the hotels 10 minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start. Our wonderful wedding coordinator contacted them, and was told by the company that the bus was going to be 30 minutes late. The guests who rode the bus told us that the driver didn't seem to know where they were going and circled the area several times. I understand that traffic is an issue at this time of the year, but as they were late to pick the guests up in the first place, they should have had a confident plan and knowledgeable enough driver to transport them to the venue. When the bus finally arrived, I had noticed that it was a completely different bus than the one I had been given a tour of at the venue and seen on their website. It looked like an older bus. Thankfully, our venue handled this with the utmost class and offered to extend our reception free of charge, however the failures of Richmond Limousine made quite the annoyance at our outdoor ceremony, causing the guests who arrived on time to be moved back inside to warm up while we waited on the late bus. I would definitely not recommend this company to anyone else to use, as they seemed to put a private rental for our wedding at a backseat to the other events going on in the area- even after communicating these concerns to the company and incorrectly being assured that they wouldn't cause any issues. Pretty horrible. We paid $500 to get a bus tour from 8:30-11:30 (even though that was not the original scheduled time and they messed up the reservation). Bus took us past mediocre homes- as a local they were pretty terrible. The bus was foggy the entire time so we couldn't see outside the windows without wiping them down ourselves and the music was so quiet you couldn't hear it. The driver was rude and dropped us at our final location for FORTY FIVE MINUTES. We were dropped back at home by 11pm. Would not recommend to a friend. read more
