The third time, only one person could do it, but he was working on another car, and the staff couldn't even provide an estimated wait time -- whether it would be 10 minutes or over an hour. Each visit also involved waiting more than 20 minutes just to speak with someone because the staff was tied up with other projects. I understand being short-staffed, but after three unsuccessful trips, it's becoming very frustrating.

I needed a key remote/lock for my Kia Sorento I had previously gone to a local car & tire place that took 2 weeks to get the part, when it was in they notified me told me they would program it to come down before closing 4;00 I got there by 3:00 ,when I got there the manager treated me very rudely as soon as I walked in took my receipt and threw it down and instead of looking at it and doing his job asked ME what it was, they told me to leave my car because it would take TWO HOURS, to program the part.They never mentioned that on the phone, I went there this morning when they opened and was told the same to leave my car for 2-3 hrs. I was treated the same way by the same person. My hubby called this place Richmond Lock & key in the meantime,They were nothing but helpful, polite on the phone, polite when I got here and very helpful. It only took exactly 5 minutes to program. These guys know their stuff everywhere i checked it said my 04 Camry had a chip key (Transponder) and it would cost big money these guys took one look at the key and said no it is a regular key even though it looks like a chip key charged me for 2 keys $20.00 Plus when they cut the keys they worked in all the car looks i am amazed to find people that still know what they are doing many do not these days i am a retired mechanic 63 years old so i know my stuff The last locksmith i went to was a complete MORON took 4 trips to him and one key i threw out and the other i had to file some metal off it to get it to work . Ash said do not worry about it. but he insisted, He said no, He then said wherever you come back. He insisted again. I am the kind of person who always pays my bills. But he said Renee forget it. I cannot forget how honest and kind he was. You do not meet people like Ash anymore. I told him I loved the renovations he had done. Looks great spacious and a lot of new products to choose from. But most of all when to have someone like Ash who knows his business and is honest, this is the kind of place where you want to shop. He will do his best to help you whatever it is. I called Advance Lock and Key because they had been recommended by a neighbor. They were closing in…read more45 minutes, and I was about 30 minutes away. Ash said to bring it down and that we'd see what we could do. My Honda CR-V wouldn't open; both key fobs had stopped working (despite battery changes) and even the valet key wouldn't turn the lock. Luckily, one fob managed to work one last time. I drove to Advance, where Ash tested both fobs and confirmed they were dead (which I already knew). He quickly found the correct replacement model. Meanwhile, one of the old fobs kept sending the "lock" signal, so by the time we walked to the parking lot to program the new fob, the door was locked again. Ash quickly grabbed his door-opening tools and got it open. The total cost was about half of what Honda would have charged.
