We were showing some family around town and decided to stop in for a drink! The place is small but quaint and let me tell you - they have an amazing selection of wines from all over the world! My aunt and I had a curated wine sampler and the men had a beer flight...$13 can't be beat! We also had some delicious appetizers like tuna nachos, shishito peppers, roasted Brussel sprouts and their delectable charcuterie board! Everything was simply spectacular, to include friendly and prompt service! This is now one of our favorite spots in Boerne and we'll definitely be back!

This food was simply amazing and delicious. The wine was exquisite. You also have to try the wine flight. The Pad Thai was scrumptious along with the shrimp ceviche. The sushi was very yummy and went very good with the soy sauce. Overall the whole place is adorable and vintage vibes. You and your family or friends should totally go here!

While looking for a place in Boerne for lunch the other day on "Bring Fido"; the Richter Tavern popped up and my wife and I decided to drop in for lunch.

I was…read morethe first to arrive around 130pm, but about 4 other couples walked in not 10 mins after me. It was a fairly hot day for the end of winter, so I chose to sit inside. They have a handful of high top tables and about 17 different wines on the tasting menu. The prices for the bottles range from $24 - $165. One interesting note, the grapes are currently grown in Lubbock due to the water shortage in this area, but they have some vines that are being replanted on this property so maybe in a few years they will be ready. They do have some snacks to try/purchase in the cold case, and more dry snacks that aren't refrigerated on the other side of the room. Since we hadn't eaten lunch yet, we grabbed a meat and cheese from the refrigerated case for $10 Restrooms are in a side building adjacent to the tasting room building. I tried the El Jardin, Albarino, Cinsaut, Sangiovese, Mourvedre, and Cabernet Franc. We also sampled a 1/2 pour of the Nectar du Terroir which is a fortified dessert wine instilled with brandy. I liked it but just be warned that it is strong at 17%. El Jardin - light white wine easy to drink; would go well with seafood Cinsaut - sort of like a pinot noir but slightly bitter Sangiovese - fruity similar to cinsaut but not as bitter Mourvedre - tasted similar to cinsaut but slightly better Cabernet franc - the best of the bunch, pretty smooth Overall, we enjoyed our experience here but are not huge wine drinkers and didn't really find one we were in love with. We didn't end up taking home any bottles but will always enjoy the memories. One note, their wine is reportedly not sold at liquor stores, but it is sent to select wine bars throughout Texas, so you may find it in your town; otherwise, the only other ways to get it is through their website, or by visiting the tasting room just outside of Boerne. They do not have a tasting room in Lubbock where the grapes are grown.

Bending Branch produces some top-notch wines and Bourbon! The winery is beautiful with multiple rooms, from high tops to comfy chairs. There is also a large patio that has some shade. They have a great family story (check out their website) and a unique way to produce bold wines. Being Kentucky natives, their bourbons are full-bodied and range from great for an old-fashioned to smooth as silk, straight up delicious. We enjoyed our red flight tasting, and yes, their Tannat is superb. Both their 2022 and 2021 Estate were complex, not overly fruity and rich. Their Tempranillo is beautifully balanced with some cherry notes and a fine leathery finish. I did sample their high-rye bourbon and was impressed with its smoothness. So impressed that a bottle now sits in my bourbon cabinet at home. This bourbon is easily sipped straight up or with a single ice cube. Bonus: If you do visit Bending Branch, take a short drive to downtown Comfort. There are some cool stores, and you have to check out the historic Giles Hotel. You can access their beautiful courtyard, and we were told by multiple folks that their breakfast is awesome. We are planning a return trip to check out the other wineries in the area and stay here.

Great Vineyard, Frustrating Food Experience…read more This was our first visit to Singing Waters Vineyard, and the property itself is absolutely darling. The setting is beautiful, the staff at the vineyard were friendly and welcoming, and the wine was tasty. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and time with friends. However, the food truck experience was a big letdown and honestly the main reason we're hesitant to return. I paid $12 for a hot dog combo (pictured)--just a single hot dog and a small bag of chips. That price felt excessive for what we received. The kids' burger was $8 and was tiny...about the size of a quarter dollar with melted cheese and chips. The value just wasn't there. What made things worse was the service. Our friends ordered the exact same food right before us and received theirs much earlier. We waited about 40 minutes longer for the same order. It was frustrating, and it did make us wonder if my earlier comment about the hot dog price being extreme played a role. The kids were all still hungry. The vineyard itself is lovely and worth visiting, but I strongly recommend reconsidering the food truck setup...either pricing, portions, or vendor choice. The food experience didn't match the quality of the venue, and it definitely affected our overall impression.

Plastic chairs treat you to a view of the highway. The barista- she was a not a sommelier- did nothing but complain to the solo customer at "The Bar" and cry about how her life sucked. There was not even any music to drown out her whining. Yeah, real professional. She was just a "wine pourer". Their are no "tastings" to be had here. Even if I needed a place to "get drunk" on wine I wouldn't choose here- the prices are ridiculously high. Seriously. A bottle of the same varietal and label was cheaper at H-E-B than it was for a GLASS of it here. The Cabernet I had tasted stale and old- almost musty/moldy. The wines did not appear to come from the vaunted "Cibola Creek Vineyards" (if that even exists). Sort of like a smattering of varietals purchased at H-E-B or Costco and up-charged to sell to here. I've been to wineries around the world: from Germany to Portugal and from France to Napa Valley... and this is not a winery- it's just a bar. I looked out back- no vineyards either- just cedar's and weeds. It's a bar that serves expensively priced, average tasting wine in a bar-like setting. Not the cleanest place either. The atmosphere is rustic hovel. Bare wood rafters, linoleum flooring and a crappy looking bar in the center. Plastic chairs treat you to a view of highway 16. The place looked and felt like a shot and a beer establishment. Where's the mechanical bull? We felt cheated and gouged. $45 for two glasses of mediocre wine and 2 chicken satay skewers. We won't be going back. A bad business idea for Pipe Creek.

First I need to give a shout out to Emily and Bronson -- they were very warm and welcoming, you can tell that they like where they work and that definitely makes a difference in the service industry. The inside is also warm and welcoming -- great decor, lots of seating (a couch!), and a great big bar with barstools in the middle of it all. It was really cold and rainy out, so we opted to stick inside for this visit, but they have fire pits in the back area, with tables and chairs and twinkle lights and all -- they even offer blankets and s'more fixin's to go with it. We tried their housemade Sangria and it was perfect. Just the right amount of sweetness. We also ordered the Charcuterie Plate -- they do not skimp on the goodness. Salami, ham, prosciutto, 3 kinds of cheeses (including brie!), different types of crackers, hummus, green grapes, red grapes, strawberries...I'm telling you, legit. I probably even missed listing some of the items, the spread was that extensive. Word on the street is they've brought some killer sliders to the menu recently, as well, so will be returning to try those ASAP. We were there in the early afternoon, so we did not get to experience this, but they have live music in the evenings and a trivia/karaoke night on Thursdays, we were told. Quite a nice little social meeting place they're building in this community. Go check 'em out! P.S. You have to see the bathroom walls. Pretty darn cute :)
