My son has a wrestling tournament every year at Coventry Highschool. Last year, I looked on Yelp for breakfast suggestions in an area I am not as familiar. Rick & Dee's came up as a suggestion. There is a period of time after checkin until the public is welcome to the tournament. So a good breakfast is what I needed to last the day at the tournament. I had a great breakfast there last year. This year I was looking forward to going back. I had 2 eggs, toast and home fries. It was good I ate forgetting to take a picture. I also got a blueberry muffin grilled. My husband was the first to let me know you could ask for muffins grilled and now it's my favorite way to have them. I had a hot chocolate since it was so cold out today. It was a great breakfast. The decor is a 50's them. They have decorations outside and the decor is continues inside. Everyone is very friendly. They know their locals very well and are also welcoming to non locals. I ate at the counter and had the pleasure to have lovely conversations with Paul who works there and is so nice. If you are ever in Coventry, you should check this place out. They have a nice big parking lot in the back of restaurant.

What a great place to visit and have breakfast! You can't miss it!! There are lots of '50's/ and '60's statues and items from the past on their front porch!! Wait til you go in though! It's a very intimate place, kind of like going to your friends for breakfast or lunch. Fair warning, close quarters, make friends!! This place is full of memorabilia of days gone by. Lots to look as you order and wait for your meal. The fare is pretty standard, with just the right amount to fill you. Check it out, it's fun!

Rick & Dee's has been around for a long time and with good reason. They have fantastic food. There is plenty of parking in the back although the inside is on the smaller side. Nostalgic diner is the theme and they do it well. Our food was delicious and the service was excellent. You can't go wrong coming here for breakfast or lunch.

Welcome to the fifties! Enjoy the casual diner atmosphere and memorabilia. The pumpkin muffin tasted just like homemade. The fluffy Cranberry Walnut pancake was filling and delicious, although they didn't have "real" maple syrup. (I didn't take off a star for that since Rhode Island is in Southern New England.) Eggs benny had the right proportion of eggs, Canadian bacon, and hollandaise sauce, and the English muffins were toasted well so they didn't get too soggy. Cheddar and mushroom omelet was cooked exactly the way I requested. The servers were friendly, made small talk, served the orders efficiently, and kept the coffee filled. Go early if you don't want to wait for a booth.

A great breakfast option!! Found on Knotty Oak Road nestled between Knotty Oak Baptist Church and Rice Memorial Field, this diner location is difficult to miss with its colorful façade and life-size Elvis, Betty Boop, and waitress figurines holding court outside. After parking in the small lot behind the business, my husband and I made our way up the ramp to enter its visually interesting interior. Seating is somewhat limited inside (at least during a busy weekend morning) but we visited closer to lunchtime and had no issue claiming two stools at the counter. Sitting here essentially placed us smack-dab in the middle of all the seating and afforded us a 360-degree view of all the 50s-themed signs, miniatures, train sets, cars, gas pumps, neon, coke products, sparkly-vinyl seating, etc! We both ordered the Hungry Man breakfast to sample a little bit of everything - eggs, bacon, sausages, ham, toast and homefries. The eggs were fluffy, bacon cooked to a delicious crisp, homefries flavorful, and toast well-buttered. This may be an odd observation but there's something to be said for a restaurant that butters the toast all the way to the edge instead of placing a small glob in the middle leaving more than half the toast dry. The diner clearly has some regulars that visit. It made for lively conversation throughout our stay. Customer service was great despite this. Sometimes its easy for staff to fall into easy conversations with the familiar faces around them and for newbies to feel a bit neglected but NOT HERE! Check ins were plentiful, drinks topped off... great service. Looking forward to dropping in again to continue to explore the menu.

When you drive by this place, you wonder what it is like inside and what you picture when you drive by is exactly what you will see inside. Small diner, family vibe and classic homemade breakfast, straight to the point. The regulars will clean your table, go behind the counter and pour coffee for you. It is great to see such a close knit group of people. The menu isn't large, but it's breakfast everyone in your family can find something to enjoy and be happy. If you are local and haven't been check it out, it will not disappoint. Hot coffee is also fantastic, when you crave a nice hot cup of coffee, this is the one, it will have you tingling down to your toes

Well I have to say definitely an old style diner. The decore has so many little things to look at. Fire trucks and trains. Any way the food was good but the wait was 25 minutes for breakfast. Maybe the 9 guys in the corner, obviously regulars were keeping the waitress preoccupied, might be the reason. Also we asked for coffee.....never got it. Not happy with the service what so ever. Besides that no complaints. Need to work on that. Probably won't go back...

Rick & Dee's is a Americana-strewn trailer of a diner. If you'd like a side of Elvis with your pancakes, this will do this trick. Breakfast offerings are standard and cheap. No complaints from any party members about our various configurations of eggs, toast, and homefries. It can feel a little bit claustrophobic due to the small space and abundant memorabilia, but the people are kind and it's a nice little mom and pop.

I have eaten breakfast here three times. The food and service each time has been fine. Why I can't rate them any higher is because the place is so dang cramped, both the restaurant and the parking lot. Although it looks very interesting from the outside, the overwhelming presence of the amount of model trains, cars and 1950s-themed memorabilia indoors makes it downright claustrophobic to me. Plus it's very noisy inside, given the tight quarters. The last time I attempted to visit was on a Saturday morning with my stepson. There were no open booths or seats at the counter, and two parties ahead of us. There was no way I was going to stand in the middle of a noisy, cramped, claustrophobic diner to wait for seats to open up, so we left. Like I said, the food and service is good, and everyone should check it out at least once to satisfy their curiosity piqued by the interesting front of the building display. As for me, I've had my fill of Rick & Dee's, and am moving on to discover other breakfast places. (P.S. - I'm not really claustrophobic; I just like a little elbow room while I eat.)

It was something else before (we visited for RI Food Fights #LordOfTheWings some years ago) but the establishment is under new management with a revamped menu. As a wife of a veteran, it is always wonderful to support a veteran-owned business. They wear their service on their proverbial sleeves. Everywhere you look, there is a tribute to our heroes. Hubby is a fan of meat on meat on meat pizza so we ordered the Cardiac Special - pepperoni, sausage, meatball, bacon & ham. There was a good amount of meat, pizza held up to the weight of the toppings & it was very tasty. I was in the mood for chicken strips & we ordered Garlic Parmesan & Nashville Hot. For former was nice & garlicky, the latter was spicy but not killer. Large juicy pieces of chicken that were lightly breaded. I want more! That evening, Flat River Tavern was hosting music bingo. The dude running it came up to us as we sat down to invite us to play. We weren't interested but it was fun to listen to the music for the game. The restaurant always has something going on - live music, food specials, DJ trivia.

Flat Service, and a River of disappointment…read more I had high hopes as my brother had mentioned he had been here a few times and really enjoyed it Went here after watching a game with my father in Saturday. He is 82, and I'm no spring chicken either. The place was moderately busy, but definitely not packed. We found seats at the bar right away and sat down. We were immediately treated (assaulted?) to the sounds of a warbling guitarist on furlough from a nearby assisted living, dutifully plucking out misaligned chords along with a voice that would make RFK Jr. sound like Pavarotti's protege. She worked through several tunes from her hippie-esque youth, which seemed a a stark contrast to the overblown MAGA-licious decor of the place. Dad and I sat at the bar, ignored for several minutes while we watched the young woman bartender chat with and serve several other guests. This included people who had already been served drinks and meals. No "hello". No "I'll be right with you", just chatting and chatting and chatting with two guys halfway down the bar and pouring beers for the folks who still had what was left of their first (fifth?) beer in front of them. It was then that we saw another man behind the bar walking towards us. And I thought, "oh, this must be his part of the bar, then. Surely he'll greet us and pour us a beer." NOPE. The guy gets to about three feet from us at the bar and turns away from us to face the wall, remote in his hand. He's not a server, he's the 'change-the-channel' guy. A task he performed with all the skill and charisma of a WalMart greater on work release. That's it for me. I'm 10 minutes in and no one has even acknowledged that we were at the bar. I tell Dad we're heading and we both stand up to put on our coats. The grinding sound of the chairs sliding back across the sticky floor must have inspired the lone remaining customer service neuron in the Flirty McTownie's bartender brain because as I was putting on my coat she managed to slog her self over to where we were to ask "Hey guys, can I get you something?" "We're all set" was pretty much the only response I could muster that wouldn't have included a torrent of curses and insinuations regarding questionable parentage. We left Honestly, unless there's no other choice, drive the extra 6 minutes into town. There are much better bars and restaurants with much better service, Old Theater Diner or Black Oak among them. Frankly, you'd probably get better service at the hot counter at Dave's... Probably better pizza too... Though we wouldn't know.

My fiancé and I ordered the Dominican breakfast, its eggs over medium, fried cheese, fried salami, mashed plantains with onions. Now I'm Hispanic and I love me a good Dominican breakfast but this was one of the best I've had ever! And trust me I've had many! Firstly the salami and cheese pieces were nice and big, I'm used to people being cheap and making them very small. Also we did pick up- so we were there a few waiting as it was made fresh, which I appreciate! The server I wish I would've got her name had us have a seat at the bar and got us water while we waited. She was such an aunty vibe and I loved it. I was observing others who were sitting down eating and their food looked so yummy! They were also equally out loud expressing how much they enjoyed their food. Also the plates are all decked out and even the tables they gave off love vibes! This place while very small, packed a punch. Me and my fiancé are going to come back probably this weekend to sit down and enjoy a meal and I'm so excited. Give this place a go for sure.
