    Pulled pork sandwich
    Heather C.

My son was in a wrestling tournament nearby. We went after the tournament to celebrate his win. I had two of his teammates. It was a Saturday night and they have a big parking lot but we were lucky to get spot right by the door. The wait was 30 minutes and they have buzzers. They have a balloon guy in the waiting area. My teenager and friends enjoyed getting one and he was very good. We got seated faster than time told after about 20 minutes. We got the fried pickles which were good a little salty. Our meals were delicious I had their pulled off sandwich, another got the meat combo, and some of the grinders. All enjoyed meal. There was also a guy who came around tables doing magic and was very good. Our server was amazing very attentive. We got three of their desserts and all were delicious. The seating is great there is a bar area and other sections with booths. We were in the booth section which was perfect. Really enjoyed going here.

It's so hard to find gluten free pizza that's worth it. Well, this place nailed it!!! Perfect crispy texture with a flavorful sauce and a variety of toppings. Our bartender happened to be sensitive to gluten as well, and she raved about the pizza! I ordered a spinach pie that cooked and seasoned perfectly. Their drinks were on point too! The layout of this busy restaurant includes long tables in the front section that lends itself to a suitable space for a large gathering. We will definitely be back!

It had been a while since I've visited Dan's! My youngest son and I decided to pop in on a busy Friday night. The wait was about 40 minutes, but we didn't mind terribly. In the lobby was a lovely man named Rob making balloon animals for gaggles of giggling children. We were seated after about 25 minutes, to our delight! Since my last visit, I've become gluten intolerant, and let me tell you! The options for people with food allergies were astounding! I got an amazing pizza, which was delicious. My son had a burger that magically disappeared from his plate (LOL) . Our server was warm, friendly, and quick to help us.

This place is always busy, it seems, no matter what time of day it is! Good for them! Part of the reason is their prices... So reasonable for the martini and the lobster roll special I had, and the soda and cheeseburger club my husband had. The martini was delicious!! Not usually my thing, but something I wanted to try. The lobster roll special included house potato chips. Lobster was perfect, just enough celery and mayo, but it wasn't drippy!! I actually didn't even look at the menu after seeing the specials. But the menu is huge.... Sandwiches, salads, pizza, burgers, you name it! My husband's club sandwich was perfectly cooked the way he asked, and there were plenty of fries. We tended to avoid Dan's just because it is ALWAYS busy, but we only waited a few minutes on a Sunday night. Definitely worth the wait and the trip to West Greenwich!

    Very good blackened tuna salad

Decent place for a meal out in the boonies, large capacity for seating, and very friendly service. We were there for a Saturday lunch, after a hike, and the place was hopping! My wife had their blackened tuna salad and it was presented beautifully and tasted as good as it looked. I chose more plebian fare: Rhode Island saugys - which were unfortunately deep-fried instead of steamed or boiled. As a result, they were dry and hard, not the best way for these classic dogs. Fries were good though, crisp outside and fluffy inside. I had an unsweetened iced tea to drink and it tasted a little off to me; my wife tasted it and said it was a raspberry-flavored iced tea. Okay ... wish I'd known that ahead of time, would've gotten a diet Coke instead. Next time we visit, I'll order something fancier and see how that is.

With a friend's band on their entertainment schedule, I found the perfect opportunity to try it out. I was looking forward to both the music and the food and while the music was amazing, my overall experience didn't quite live up to expectations. Pro: - My friends and I were able to reserve a table ahead of time, which helped secure space to enjoy the show. We had an up close and personal view, and it definitely made for an immersive experience. Cons: - The space is way too small for live bands. The band was squeezed into a corner, and the closest table was practically on top of the lead singer. The small space in front of the band may have been meant for dancing, but it blocked the path to the bathrooms and food service. It felt cramped, loud, and uncomfortable. - The pub-height tables had tall chairs that were wobbly and unstable. I'm not a big person, but even I felt like I might tip over sitting there. Plus, the layout was so tight that we all had to get up every time someone wanted to wiggle their way to the bar or the bathroom. - Our waitress disappeared for long stretches of time, and service was painfully slow. We ended up having to go up to the bar for refills between courses because no one was around to help. - The food was disappointing. I ordered the house-made tavern chips (which look like potato chips on the website) but got plain tortilla chips instead. I also had two hot weiners, and while they had all the right toppings, the flavor was all wrong. The meat sauce tasted burnt, and they were completely overloaded with celery salt. It was honestly the worst I've ever had. Others at the table felt underwhelmed with their selections as well - the quesadilla was soggy and the appetizer sampler was just okay. - The bathroom locks were unreliable. The lock on the door failed halfway through my visit, and it took several attempts to get the button to work again, which made for a pretty awkward experience. Given this visit, I'm unlikely to return. If I do, it'd have to be for a great band, and I'll definitely eat somewhere else beforehand.

Listed as "new American" but had a strong showing of Asian fusion. Food was good but can be considered salty for some. The smoked pork noodles was heavy and had a high level of spice in part of the dish, would recommend to mix it well to evenly distribute. The eclipse had a lot going on, with some ingredients getting lost in the shuffle, but did overall enjoy it.

Lauren and I from RI: The Pizza State decided to meet up at Little Country Pizza in Exeter for a…read moreholiday lunch today. Pierre Boutros and Jen Boutros joined our group as experts from day one and have become friends, and we wanted to visit with them before they close for the holidays. We started with a grandma slice because that's my favorite style and I haven't had it here before. The slice arrived with that golden-brown finish and leopard spots where Pierre's oven does its best work. I picked it up. Impossibly light. I tore off a piece to check the structure. Look at that. Those aren't polite little air bubbles. Those are irregular, cathedral-sized pockets that tell you this dough got the time it needed. Pierre knows his fermentation schedule and he respects it. Most places pull grandma slices early because they're watching the clock. Pierre's watching the dough. Each bite compressed down to almost nothing, then sprang back. The cheese browned in all the right spots without going bitter. The sauce stayed underneath where it belongs on a grandma pie, supporting everything else instead of announcing itself. Pierre's parents bought this place in 1988. He grew up in it. He could cut corners now and most people wouldn't notice. He doesn't. Then we ordered two pies. One grilled chicken with pepperoni, one straight pepperoni. The chicken pizza arrives with the chicken hidden under the cheese. Smart move. Keeps it from drying out. But here's what matters: that chicken doesn't disappear under everything else. The flavor comes through clear and distinct. It tastes like the chicken in your mom's chicken soup when you were growing up. The pepperoni pie is what I judge every place by. The pepperoni cups properly. Gets those crispy edges with little pools of oil that you're either into or you're not. I'm into it. The cheese browns perfectly without crossing into bitter territory. Pierre's sauce leans savory. Not sweet like most Rhode Island places. It's balanced but you can taste the tomato and the garlic more than the sugar. Unique. Works. The crust on both pies shows the same attention to detail. Most places get it right once in a while. Pierre gets it right every time. Then we ordered a Smokey and the Bandit Samzone. Half sandwich, half calzone. It's one of Pierre's viral creations. Inside: smoked brisket and mac and cheese. That's it. Bacon studded on top. BBQ sauce on the side. The smoke hits you before you bite in. Not subtle. That brisket spent serious time in the smoker. The meat pulls apart without resistance. The mac and cheese does what it's supposed to do. Creamy. Doesn't fight with the brisket. Just supports it. The dough holds everything together without turning into a soggy mess, which is harder than it sounds when you're stuffing mac and cheese and brisket into pizza dough. We finished with an apple pie dessert pizza. It arrives covered in streusel with apple chunks breaking through the crumble. The ice cream comes on the side. Vanilla scoops dusted with cinnamon sugar. This is your mom's apple pie. The apples are soft but not mushy. The streusel adds that butter and brown sugar crunch. The crust underneath stays crisp enough to support everything without turning into a wet mess. The ice cream with warm apple pie is exactly what you want. Pierre could've stopped at pizza. He's already making some of the best in Rhode Island. But he doesn't stop. He keeps creating. Keeps making things people didn't know they wanted. That's the difference between running a pizzeria and building something that matters.
