We visit Dan's a few times each year and always leave pleased with food, service and overall experience. This weekend we celebrated my birthday - party of 5. It's one restaurant that never gets a fight from my whole gang because there is truly something for everyone on their menu. The backside of some of their placemats have games to keep us all engaged and off phones while we wait for the meal - silly, but something we always forget about until we get there. I had a buffalo chx club - I ended up taking half home. The food is tasty and their portions are certainly generous. We always look forward to our next visit! read more

Dan's has a large, diverse menu, which is why we came here tonight. I had a chicken sandwich on ciabatta, with a pesto spread, lettuce and tomato. It was a lot bigger that I expected, and I brought half home! I also had a frozen mudslide, and we had a app of tempura mushrooms. Those were delicious! My husband had a small Dan's special pizza. Service was great, and it was loud with kids running around. But we were there for the food and drink, which we enjoyed. read more

We went to Dan's place after we discovered a local favorite is no longer open for dinner. I really like the ambiance of the place. The dining room is big and open with a bar on one side. A Harley mounted above the bar add to the motif. I need to say I saw one review comment on the cleanliness of the place and the state of the menus. I felt the place was clean and our dishwater was chip free. The menus were a bit beat up but a this ain't fine dining and they were clean! Missy was our server and she was the best! She took care of us and was genuinely friendly. We had a spill at our table (our fault) and the staff swooped in to clean it up and replace the spilled item. The food was very good. It had been a while since I've visited Dan's! My youngest son and I decided to pop in on a busy Friday night. The wait was about 40 minutes, but we didn't mind terribly. In the lobby was a lovely man named Rob making balloon animals for gaggles of giggling children. We were seated after about 25 minutes, to our delight! Since my last visit, I've become gluten intolerant, and let me tell you! The options for people with food allergies were astounding! I got an amazing pizza, which was delicious. My son was in a wrestling tournament nearby. We went after the tournament to celebrate his win. I had two of his teammates. It was a Saturday night and they have a big parking lot but we were lucky to get spot right by the door. The wait was 30 minutes and they have buzzers. They have a balloon guy in the waiting area. My teenager and friends enjoyed getting one and he was very good. We got seated faster than time told after about 20 minutes. We got the fried pickles which were good a little salty. Our meals were delicious I had their pulled off sandwich, another got the meat combo, and some of the grinders. All enjoyed meal. There was also a guy who came around tables doing magic and was very good. Our server was amazing very attentive. We got three of their desserts and all were delicious. Dan's place is a great place to get amazing food and go hangout and watch sports. The wings and nachos were awesome, and the food came out extremely fast. Dan's is a decent restaurant. I find it hit or miss. I've had some good meals there but also some that have really fallen flat. I think their menu is too big so there is no real emphasis on a particular kind of food. Depending on where you sit in the restaurant it can be a little noisy. The room on the side doesn't seem to be as loud as it is near the entrance or near the bar. Dan's is able to accommodate large groups, so that is something to keep in mind if you have a bigger party for dinner. The servers have always been really great. read more

It's so hard to find gluten free pizza that's worth it. Well, this place nailed it!!! Perfect crispy texture with a flavorful sauce and a variety of toppings. Our bartender happened to be sensitive to gluten as well, and she raved about the pizza! I ordered a spinach pie that cooked and seasoned perfectly. Their drinks were on point too! My family arrived at Dan's Place at 5:55 pm and made reservations for our party of 6 for my birthday. I have been too Dans several times prior. We waited an hour near the bar, then was seated in front of where the band sets up (7:00,no band at that time.) We had menus and were ready to order. A short while later we were advised that the table the waitress set up for us was no longer available, that the band's family and friends would be sitting at the table. We were very polite stating we understood. All downhill from there. We were told that were were still on the list for a party of six, one would think we would be a priority. Well ,we waited another hour. The staff was disorganized,the young girls were pleasant but would't look us in the eyes when they spoke. No manager came to speak to us. We realized that when we exited the first table, on the way to the waitress station we saw several a large open tables in the room nearby. We were finally seated at one of the tables that was empty for about an hour. We were seated and the waitress took our order at 7:50, we ate, and left at 9:10. We drove by Dan's Place 100 times but never tried it until today. We were pleasantly surprised. It has a nice big dinning room. The drinks are great. We had the Wight banana daiquiri, The house Margarita and a banana mudslide, All the drinks were perfectly made and flavorful. The waitperson Shayna Z was spot on with the service time, was very friendly and was knowledgeable about questions we had about the vast menu. The triple Jalapeno burger was the stare of the show. It was the best burger I had in years. Bacon was crisp and the Jalapeno cheese and sauce made the burger incredible. My wife had the fish tacos. They were great. Our friend had the Pulled pork sandwich, We enjoyed every bite. We just scratched the surface of this menu. Decent place for a meal out in the boonies, large capacity for seating, and very friendly service. We were there for a Saturday lunch, after a hike, and the place was hopping! My wife had their blackened tuna salad and it was presented beautifully and tasted as good as it looked. I chose more plebian fare: Rhode Island saugys - which were unfortunately deep-fried instead of steamed or boiled. As a result, they were dry and hard, not the best way for these classic dogs. Fries were good though, crisp outside and fluffy inside. I had an unsweetened iced tea to drink and it tasted a little off to me; my wife tasted it and said it was a raspberry-flavored iced tea. Okay ... wish I'd known that ahead of time, would've gotten a diet Coke instead. Next time we visit, I'll order something fancier and see how that is. read more

My boyfriend and I both have food allergies and decided to try Dan's Place as we have both come here in the past as they have good options for food allergies. My boyfriend is highly allergic to peanuts and tree nuts (anaphylactic), while I'm allergic to gluten (not anaphylactic but will make me very sick). Our server was AMAZING and wrote down our allergens multiple times and checked our order with us, but when our food arrived, we had issues. My boyfriend's food was very overdone, and my supposedly gluten free pasta clearly had breadcrumbs all over it. The server brought it over and she questioned it with me and said she would have it remade. It came out in less than 5 minutes so clearly not remade, but just had the topping removed and the pasta mixed around. We talked to the manager/chef who apologized and blamed it on somebody training. I don't buy that whatsoever; food allergens need to be taken seriously and ours were not. We're lucky there weren't nuts somewhere in my boyfriend's food because it could have killed him. To sum it up: the servers are wonderful but don't trust this place if you have severe allergies. We took our business to Chipotle instead but PSA still tip your servers if the kitchen messes up your food! read more

Headed there on Friday night, wanted to bring a couple friends seeing we had an event down that way. We had been before and enjoyed. This visit may have turned me off. We joined the waitlist on line seeing we had a 40 minute drive. When we arrived they said the waitlist was not working and it would be a 45 minute wait. I showed them the waitlist with my name and asked if they could do anything and the said no. We went to bar area, had a drink and spoke to a manger, we showed her the waitlist and she said let me see what I can do. Well she never came back. We sat down like 20 minutes later. We placed our order and we did appetizer and meals at same time but bring out the nachos first. After waiting a while our entrees appeared, we asked what happen to the nachos? Never really received an answer. Food was good but we also ordered as we would be having an app first. Waitress maybe came by one time after the meals came and that was when we were done. The veggie pizza was only slightly better than the buffalo chicken pizza. The veggies were raw. Garlic Parmesan wings were edible but didn't taste great either. The food in the service were excellent. We really enjoyed the fried calamari and the fried whole clams and french fries. They have shifted to cooking fried things in lard. Even had a funny conversation with bartender about how she liked it crispy too, etc, etc. The pizza came out basically piled with barely cooked cold peppers and onions -- just odd. Not cooked, let alone well done. And canned mushrooms are a hard no. Beware when ordering pizza. Too bad, as the rest of the pizza was decent. We had heard about Dan's Place and finally made our way out to 102 to check them out. We tried the stuffie and it was good but I probably would order a different appetizer next time. The main dishes we had though were the stars of the show. Based on other reviews raving about it, my hubs had the short rib shepherds pie and I'm very glad to say it lived up to the expectations. I had the tenderloin tips bourbon style with garlic green beans, with oh so yummy slivers of almonds. We ordered dessert to go because we were stuffed. Service was very good, (shout out to our server Stacie!!) and considering we had decent leftovers for lunch the next day it was a good value. Just ordered takeout, ribeye steak and a surf and turf, got home and the portion sizes on the sides were horrible. I probably have about a tablespoon of mashed potatoes a tablespoon of vegetables and I asked for certain things on the order. I was assured that it was in there, of course it wasn't. We've eaten there many times and I can tell you that portion sizes on the sides of our takeout was half of what you normally would get if you sat there . I visited Dan's Place for the RI Food Fights burger competition. Parking is partial on pavement and then down a dirt hill without lines. We saw some people talking near a door through an open date so we assumed that was the entering point. Apparently we walked through the back entrance straight to the bar. The real front door is underneath their main sign hidden by bushes. We walked through the restaurant to the front. The atmosphere inside is similar to Texas Road House. You are greeted with loud country music, but in a better lit environment. I still like the feeling of Texas Road House more. As part of the competition, Big Dan's Burger was the only choice. The burger came with lettuce, pickle, onions, American cheese and thousand island dressing. A complimentary side was included, and we choose regular fries. The burger patty was huge and juicy. It is definitely the juiciest burger in the competition. The meat was a different cut that I couldn't put my finger on, but I liked it. It really caught me by surprise. The burger came out on a brioche or Hawaiian bun. Not many burgers came on a sweeter bun, but the sweetness complimented the burger nicely. The fries were nothing to write home about. No seasoning, probably not hand cut fresh, I didn't care for them. They wouldn't be my go to option and I'd get something different any other visit. They have a pretty large menu and I saw patrons get a lot of pizzas. My eye caught a huge taco tortilla bowl that looked like a fun dinner. It was the size of your head! It was just ok for me. We had a party of 8 and a lot of mistakes were made with our dishes. They dropped the birthday girls dinner but did comp it along with a dessert. Got a salad and subbed a cheese and got the wrong cheese and wrong dressing. People in my party complained that their Chicken Quesadillas only had chicken in 2 of the pieces of chicken-they forgot the buffalo sauce on one of them. Someone else asked for Romaine lettuce but got mixed greens. The fries were barely cooked and the the bun for the burger disintegrated upon first bite. Grape-nut pudding tasted old. Might go back for a drink but would prob skip the food. Yelp really needs half stars because this would've been a 2.5 stars. read more
