Service here is a hard pass. 2 item limit but never was seen by server - UPDATE - server came conveniently after the show started - after the kitchen was CLOSED - I refused to buy anything because despite being ignored while she was getting drunk on the job - who spends their money somewhere who ignores you for OVER AN HOUR. mind you people around us were on their 2nd-3rd rounds of food/drinks. that is the main joke. The GM came out to address us not abiding to the 2 item limit - very unprofessional (PARKER - wrote his name so sloppy was probably drunk as well) very rude and condescending, he made several excuses for his under the influence employee ignoring us.. but stood on having to buy 2 items or leave. Mind you the kitchen was closed at this point. We are almost an hour into the show. I told him i'm not buying anything after being ignored for an hr and also asked if he wanted us to chug 2 drinks w/ less than an hr left of the show and having to drive home. He suggested we buy 2 bottles of water - each. ABSOLUTELY NOT SPENDING A DIME.. or penny here. After some back and forth about it he said he can offer comp tickets to any other show - WHY THE F would we come back again?! Definitely putting the wrong people in management. The point was we were ignored over an hour, there's nothing you can do for me at that point. I'd never sit at a restaurant over an hr with no service and still spend my money there. It did escalate to security coming to kick us out. Thats where the employees showed their true colors. Just trashed. Yelling despite a show going on. Going back and forth OVER the GM. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Saw a show at the House of Comedy for the first time and for a small venue, things went decently well![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We went to a late night show beginning at 9:45, your ticket will say to arrive a half hour early. We showed up a minute past 9, and the line to enter hadn't even begun so we sat at one of the 8 tables in the small bar attached. The line quickly grew outside into the mall area and we were let in at roughly 9:40. I had no idea what to expect for seating so here is a break down for you! They offered 3 ticket options, GA, Preferred seating, and a 3-course Dinner ticket. I was hoping to get preferred seating tickets since I really wanted to be close to the stage - glad I didn't! Preferred seating does NOT mean you are up close and personal with the comedian. It DOES mean you get your own high top in the middle of the room. Since we arrived early our GA tickets got us 3-seats from the stage! (And no we didn't just get lucky, everyone around us was GA. We all looked at each other confused when the comedian thanked us for buying preferred seats...) [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have ushers to direct you to your seats. Hope you aren't claustrophobic because you are packed in tight at long lunch room type tables with other people not in your party.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I figured we would most likely be sat with strangers so I wasn't concerned with any of that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The show was a sold out so it was difficult to get up and go to the bathroom after you had already gotten to your seat. The tables are very close together because once everyone is seated their chairs practically go back to back with one another.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathrooms were nice and very clean. The women's room was a little hard to find but the staff were able to direct me promptly as I looked a bit confused.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do begin table services once you're seated and the servers were on top of their game! You order, they collect a card, and bring it back once it is added to your tab. The cocktail concoctions are a bit strange... a Paloma with soda water, grapefruit juice, sprite and grenadine... YIKES. Weird combo. My brother and I opted to just get basic mixies. They also offered apps, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, salads, and desserts. We didn't choose to eat since it was late but they had good options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]One thing that would deter me from this venue was the heat. I have never sweat so much in my life! That room was hot, as it was packed full with roughly 200 people.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The temp was intense to a point where I questioned if I would be able to stay for the whole show or pass out at my table since I couldn't leave my seat with how tight it was. I'm glad I got a water because I mainly sipped on that instead of my drink to keep me cool. I don't think I would ever go to a show here in the summer unless they turn the AC way down low otherwise it would be an oven. Overall, the show was fantastic! When exiting it wasn't a massive zoo rush which was nice. Positives: Staff were fantastic, service was great, good food options, and sight lines were impeccable. The stove was out of order, so only about half the menu items were available. The venue has a 2 item minimum, which is standard, but not something I care for. The food was mediocre (we had fries and flat bread) and I was underwhelmed. The location is strange- it's in the mall of America. You have to find parking somewhat far away and then get there. Before you go, be aware that this club enforces a two-item minimum purchase (food or beverage). This requirement was not listed on our ticket, and no staff member mentioned it when we entered. The only indication we saw were a few small signs placed around the venue that were easy to miss and not pointed out by anyone. I don't drink alcohol, and several of the non-alcoholic options I asked about (tea and sparkling water) were out of stock. While we were still trying to figure out what I could order, the waiter returned several times asking if I was ready to order something and eventually said, "If you don't order something soon, we're going to have to kick you out." At first I thought this might be a joke because staff had been joking with us earlier, but it quickly became clear that it was not. My partner went to ask a staff member where the two-item minimum policy was stated on the ticket since we genuinely hadn't seen it anywhere. He was gone for quite a while trying to get clarification. The employee he spoke with could not point to the policy on the ticket and became frustrated, eventually asking my partner to leave. When I walked up to check on what was happening, the employee began closing the door on me. My partner tried to keep the door open so I could understand what was going on, and the employee attempted to push him away. The situation became chaotic very quickly. When the door was finally opened and I asked another employee about what was happening, I was dismissed and told that I also needed to leave. The interaction felt unnecessarily hostile and poorly handled. If the venue has a strict two-item minimum policy, it should be clearly communicated upfront (ideally printed on the ticket itself and explained when guests enter). This is especially important when tickets are purchased through third-party platforms like StubHub, where venue policies may not be obvious. Recently attended a mediocre night at Rick Bronson's House of Comedy at the Mall of America. Realized upon arrival that there is a 2 drink or food minimum without any notification via the tickets. The doors opened well past the 1 hour prior to the start of the show as advertised. We were served 2 mediocre meals and watered down drinks. During the featured presenter the waitress came to our table to inform us that the headliner was not showing up. The best they could do was offer 2 complimentary tickets to a future show at lesser value. It was very disappointing considering the price of the tickets to see a "Special Presentation" comedian. Located on the 4th floor at Mall of America, the best way to access this is to park in the east parking lot on the 5th floor. You enter from their bar. If you buy the dinner and a show, you will be seated front and center. It looks like a 3-course dinner: salad, entree, and dessert. For Steven Ho, the dinner and show was sold out. For a 7:30pm show, general admission was allowed in at 6:30pm where staff escort you to your seats. I gave House of Comedy 3 out of 5 stars because the requirement of each person need to order 2 items from the menu. I knew about this prior, but other guests near me were surprised. Gratuity is added for party of 6+. I was surprised that they do not serve ice water. They sell you Aquafina for almost $4. They also require a credit card to have on file when you order to start a tab. They don't have a physical menu, but there is a QR code to scan with your phone to view their food and drinks. The chicken tenders were nicely cooked. It was juicy. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I ordered cherry Pepsi with my meal (basically Pepsi with grenadine). When the show was over and people were still figuring out their bills, the staff announced overhead twice requesting people to leave because "it is now closed." I didn't leave yet because I needed to report a discrepancy on my tab - I was charged for a drink I never ordered, but it was people that sat near me, but situation was resolved. visited this place twice in the last 2 months. First time around, my card was charged for someone else's bill on top of mine. 2 separate charges. It is nearly impossible to get a hold of management regardless when you call. I had to dispute it with my bank. I really wanted to see a comedian that was coming to this venue and they REQUIRE that you purchase two drinks or food items. This time, I never got my food item and was notified at the end of the show it was cancelled after asking if it would still be coming out. Then, I got charged about $5 more than my bill for which I signed/completed the receipt for. and took a picture in case this happened again. read more

I've been here a few times now and it's a great smaller venue for comedy shows. They have tableside service for drinks and food and the wings smelled great, but hot the last time we went. They offer a variety of drinks and the comedians seem to like it and get the crowd involved since it's so intimate. If you sign up for the email club, you will win free tickets at some point. I came here to see Scenes from a Hat. It was an absolutely fabulous way to spend a Sunday evening. I'm a fan of improv, and this cast didn't disappoint. They had me in stitches. Whether you're already a fan of improv or you've never attended an improv show before, you'll have a good time. The venue is in the Mall of America. Park in the east ramp on level five (that's New York) and head up the stairs to get there. They have a bar with choices to please everyone (beer, wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and more), a selection of foods to appeal to many preferences (the Greek salad was fresh and zippy--definitely recommend if you're looking for something not too heavy), and great service. I go with my finance to the comedy club I order a drink for myself and a water for myself. My fiancé did not want anything to to drink or eat so it was just me. Upon closing my tab I was obligated to get 2 more drinks just because she was with me but yet I was the only one paying for the drinks. So I was obligated to buy 4 drinks. If I had never gotten a drink that rule would not have been applied therefore it's complete bullshit. I don't know who runs a company that is that desperate of money they make you buy stuff before you can leave. We always have a great time when we come here! We usually go to the Sunday shows which has a great smaller crowd but lots of excitement. We park on the east ramp, 4th or 5th level (5th level brings you right to the location. The food and drinks are great, they always have great beer and a nice selection of cocktails. Went to Two Dykes and a Mic and they were fantastic! I would say thought the venue could use some work... they are a duo and yet when they got on stage there was only one microphone so they had to ask for another which didn't work at first either. The food and drinks here are not great so don't expect much. Chicken tenders and fries are usually a safe bet so that's what I got. Big portion. Took a while to get any ketchup, napkins, etc. The ranch I got with it was definitely just Heinz or hidden valley ranch so it was okay. I got the tipsy chick drink and it was disgusting. I could only drink half. And they also charge you for water and bring you a water bottle. Water should definitely be free. One of my friends got chips and guacamole and you could tell it was guacamole that came out of a plastic container and not homemade. The consistency was a brighter green and way too smooth to be homemade and it didn't taste great so she barely ate that as well. If you are going to require people to order two menu items you should at least offer water for free and make the other drinks/food better.... read more

We went on a Thursday night with $12 Groupon tickets. We arrived 30 minutes early and each had a club soda in the bar as they didn't start seating in the venue until after the start time. We got a $9.50 bill for the two club sodas and he whisked our glasses away. This being the times of Covid, we were seated socially distanced but front row since few were at the show. Our food order was taken promptly and delivered promptly and tasted good. The video monitor said no cash to pay bills but our waitress said we could pay cash at the end. There were four comics, and we were pleased. The MC comic talked about her four year old. One quick comic we can't even remember his show must have been given two minutes. There was a tall gay man who was hilarious and the mainliner ( Ali from Yemen) decided to try out new material, some funny, some not, but still a fun way to spend two hours. read more

My friend and I had tickets to see Rudy Pavich last Wednesday, 10/11/23. I was super excited as I've never been to the House of Comedy and over the years listened to Rudy on the radio. However, we walked in and the bartender greeted us and asked if we wanted a drink. She was very friendly, if I remember correctly her name it was Jasmine. She also informed us that we needed to wait for others, there needs to be a total of 15 people or the show would be canceled. By this time, it was already 7:15pm and show was suppose to start at 7:30pm. A few others came in, but the count was still no where near a total of 15. Jasmine announced to everyone we'd give it to 7:45pm. I don't understand this policy and it's rather disappointing especially considering this was my first experience with the House of Comedy. I don't think I'd recommend this place to others as you don't know if you'll actually end up seeing a show you have tickets for. Cannot speak of the food as we did not have any. We just sat in the lobby of the house of comedy there were a few tables and it was bright. read more

The husband & I attended this fine comedy club for my daughter's birthday along with most of the family & her extended family and friends. Omg the comedians were so funny our jaws hurt after it was over. The servers were wonderful, fast and on point. The food was very good, I had the chicken strips and a soda. Even the margaritas were fantastic as I had a big drink of the one that my son was drinking. We all really enjoyed ourselves, we intend to come back again soon for more good laughs and a good time again. The opening act we saw tonight was REALLY raunchy. Typically I'm one for dirty humor, I love that stuff. But it was REALLY specific and almost overtly sexual - like the type of conversation you have with a close close friend. 2nd act was hilarious, and the visiting comic was PHENOMENAL!! But, the service is what really matters when you're talking about a comedy club. It was just okay. The first drink I had was delicious - well mixed, well balanced, and very good. 2nd one was nearly undrinkable as it was so bitter. My friend's drink was SUPER strong, which is fine if you know what you're getting but unexpected in this case. The food was a miss - the fried pickles were super greasy and the ranch was clumpy, I almost thought it was blue cheese. We had the mini donut desert, which was fine but nothing to write home about. The server was kind, but would checkin with us by making eye contact from across the room? Very strange. If you're looking for a place to frequent for comedy shows, I wouldn't recommend here. My partner and I were very disappointed in our experience at this comedy spot. When we arrived, we found the door was unattended and had to wait until someone came back up to the check in podium. Not a long wait but strange given the show was just getting started. The fellow that came around to help us was still in training but no one was helping him...weird process and a little inconvenient for customers but whatever, the dude was nice. Upon seating us, we were told we HAD to go scooch through the crowd, instead of sitting at one of the empty tables where we didn't have to interrupt other people. After a bit of back and forth, we finally got seated and we didn't need to weave through all of the people already seated. Our table had four chairs, two of which were in the way of me sitting next to my partner. So naturally I moved two of the chair back and out of the way (no other people were seated behind us at that time). A messy haired female server stopped us to tell us not to move any of the chairs and proceeded to push the chairs I had just moved out of the way, back in our way. I had planned to move the back into place but off to the right side of the table but before I could get in position to do so, the messy haired server snatch the extra chairs away and moved them to another table. We literally just stared at her bc wtf? Shortly thereafter, our server came to the table to get our order but advised in a lowkey rude way that the kitchen was going to close so we needed to hurry. I would just like to point out that it's super ridiculous to require a minimum purchase but don't have options for people that don't drink alcohol or soda to choose from. That is us. We need options too. But nvm that silliness, the REAL ISSUE is these people served me a non-alcoholic beer in a glass that was rinsed in bleach and still smelled like it. It also was enough bleach to change the taste of my NA beer. I literally swallowed a some of the beer before I realized the glass was contaminated. After confirming with my partner that I was correct in smelling BLEACH, I informed the server. He offered a blank stare and made no effort to hide his displeasure with us nor did he apologize for the screw up. If I'm not mistaken, washing dishes with bleach is a health code violation for this very reason. In addition to his clear lack of concern for serving bleach to a customer, the server proceeded to give us a hard time about a bill we had only received a soda and bleach contaminated NA beer. We were told by the server that if we wanted to cancel our food and have the beer and soda discarded, we'd have to wait to speak to a manager....sir, the beer clearly smelled like bleach. There nothing more to say. We had to wait 15 minutes for the manager to mosey up there only to ask us what we wanted to talk to her about! ‍ We didn't ask to speak to her. This is definitely something that could've been handled without us. We never received any food and we stopped consuming any beverages almost as soon as they hit the table. We won't be back. There are too many other comedy spots to deal with bleach drinks and bad service. We haven't been reimbursed for the tickets and after our experience, we don't expect or either but we won't be back for sure. I definitely don't recommend. read more

I was very pleased with the overall service and comedian that performed. I planned to give this place an outstanding review until the bill arrived. They require every person to purchase two items off of the menu (food or drink). You are sat based on arrival, so get there sooner for better seats. You are then prompted to scan a QR code to order. The food came out extremely fast and was very good. The comedians were hilarious and overall had a great time. The bill came and everything was charged more than the listed menu price. For example, the california chicken sandwich is listed for $14 on the menu and on the bill it was $19, the fried pickles were $10 and I was charged $13, and lastly the buffalo chicken chicken wrap was $13 but I was charged $16. I expected my bill to be $37, so you can imagine my suprise when it was almost $56 after tax. They do disclose an automatic gratuity of 20% on parties of 6+, however, there was just two of us. Not sure if it was an error, or sneaky management. Either way, it's bad business, especially considering that fact that they use QR codes that directly link to their easily changeable website; unlike an outdated physical menu. Decided to leave no tip, as that $11 difference would've been for my server, as I have never tipped below 20% even if I have terrible service. I felt bad, but when I expected to pay around $45 for my meal, I cannot justify spending $65+ including tip. I can't say I would ever come here again for this reason alone. I ended up spending more on the tickets + food, than I would had I just bought the $70+ dinner and show package. read more

Avoid this place on a Tuesday night. It's called Triple Threat Tuesday but should really be called Amauter Tuesdays. Out of the 11-12 comedians, 3ish were adequate or good. Some were super awkward and made it seem like the crowd wasn't getting the joke hah. To make matters worst, a $5 ticket gets charged service, facility and processing fees (see receipt below); I've seen these get charged if booked online and FIRST TIME in my life seeing this get charged at the box office. I don't plan to return to this place ever again! You are better off saving money and can watch a $5 movie instead on Tuesdays :) read more

With a legend on the stage this weekend, Arsenio Hall's Special Appearance should have been one of those lifetime memorable experiences that you live to tell your grand kids about! The man is legendary! Instead, the only thing I found funnier than Arsenio Hall, was the extremely bad service my date and I encountered on Saturday night! If only I could give negative stars!!!! Don't get me wrong, Arsenio still had me LMAO, but I couldn't get a waiter or waitress to bring me a glass of water, let alone take my order, to save my life! I even reached out and stopped a waitress, who apparently had her hands full with her own section, and asked for service. She said that she would find my waiter and send him over. I held my breath until I almost past out, but he never came. I became distracted from the show, searching for this missing waiter, who apparently was part Big Foot, part Loch Ness Monster because there were no additional sightings, just rumors that he existed somewhere in the dark of the comedy club. Eventually, I succumbed to the reality that I would not Drink Dine and Laugh tonight as the House of Comedy tag line recommended. The waiter never came and I never got service and my date and I left hungry, thirsty and pretty upset. The opposite of how you should leave a comedy club. read more

The show was great. This review is of the establishment, NOT of the performance. The food and drinks are over priced and not very good. The three of us ordered Grand Marnier with a splash of champagne. The waiter came over and informed us that it would be more cost effective to purchase a bottle of champagne. Long story short, after being insulted by the manager, the Grand Marnier was $10 for less than an ounce and it was $30 for a bottle of Barefoot "champagne." Anyone who knows anything about Barefoot knows $30 is grossly overpriced. We had asked for lime and cherries for our drinks. They were brought out on a cocktail napkin, not a saucer as at most places. My table ordered two orders of wings and flat bread before the show started. The tables around us weren't yet occupied. The opening act preformed and the main comedian was more than half way through the performance before we got out food. All tables that came after us got their orders before us. The waiter had to come back to our table and ask what we ordered. He had completely forgotten and had given our order away yet claimed he had it written down and that he was asking to ensure it was correct. Really?! Bottom line, if a comedian you enjoy is performing, purchase the tickets. Make plans to go to dinner before or after the show. The service if its establishment is sub par at best. read more

here is the bad first....My bill was $32 and they charged me $65.09. I would not tip 101% for any service at all. That will be fixed soon. however the drinks and food the show....hell yes. they are on to something Very fast service, fresh food, nice servers. The place is very pretty. Fun way to spend an evening; however, here are a couple pointers: 1) Order your drinks BEFORE you head in for the show. The bartenders are really nice and even suggested this as we were finishing up our pre-event cocktail; however, I knew if I held on to my drink on the way in. . it would be gone anyway! The tables are set up perfectly for seeing the show, but not for food or dinner service. It takes a really long time to get a drink when in there and then reconciling the bill at the end of the show is a pain if you don't have cash. 2) Follow them on social media for great deals! We got in free for our show and it was well worth it to have paid full price! We will definitely be back. In short, order drinks before, bring cash if you order inside, and ENJOY! It's a comedy club! This comedy club is located on the 4th floor of the Mall of America East side. It is best to park in the East Parking ramp up on the Blue New York level. When you park on the center of the New York level and go in, the comedy club is on your right after Gameworks. There are some good things. This place is spacious and open. Nice stage video screen. They are good at emailing you with upcoming events if you subscribe to the email list. There was a check in offer for 20% off so you may want to buy your tickets at the door after you check in. They had a decent drink/wine selection and the drink prices were not too bad. They also run a happy hour after the show. Things that I was turned off by are the high food prices, I am glad we ate beforehand. They do not have tap water. How do they wash their dishes? They must do the dishes with the bottled water they make you buy. You can conveniently buy tickets online. A $16.50 ticket during the week turns into $22.61 after fees per ticket. Wow. Nice up charge. Not nice. I am not a fan of the up charge. America is becoming too greedy. We saw Taylor Williamson who was the runner-up of AGT last year. Ralphie Mae was coming in a couple weeks but he just died of a cardiac arrest. RIP funny man. read more

We visited the House of Comedy to see Michael Blackson, we were running late (not my fault.. his fault) and were scared we wouldn't have a seat. The fear was real... we walked in and it was paaaacked and thankfully, they were running late, but it was still really hard to find seats. I left up to my bf, since he was the reason we were late and headed to the ladies room. Came out, he found us a decent seat, with pleasant people and our server took our drink order. She was pleasant and assured me that my credit card would NOT be charged (since they required that we have a credit card down until we paid. I've had troubles before with this place where my card was charged for things that I didn't have or had already paid for in cash... so i was pretty leary), but since i wanted the beverage, i obliged. By the time Michael Blackson made it out, the ladies room was HORRIBLE. 4 out of 5 stalls were gross and/or not usable.. due to tampon issues, messes in the stall, etc and the one that was clean (handicapped stall) had NO tissue. We had to use paper towels. Thank God for paper towels.. or we would have been in a situation, saints. Anyway, if we had more options for comedy, i would probably never come here again, but since we do not... I'll be back. read more

I have been here twice so far. The first time was a great experience the second time was tons of fun but felt very unorganized because they were light on servers. Took me about 42 mintues to get a beer so i walked to the bar and got a beer. I dont blame the server he seemed to be the only one serving the whole club. Before we got in the line was long and to speed up service a guy came up and assisted with tickets. Later to find out it was shedg. He was very kind and helpful and cared about every one. He did this by helping out and checking on people. The headliner did not show up so they gave us free tickets for another show. The show was a hit and had lots of tallent. Every one was funny and some were even more funny than the others. It would be unfair to give lower than 5 stars without a few morw visits because i did have a great time and everyone in the room seem to be having fun.. Park on the east side or else you have a long walk. I look forward to going here more read more

I saw a show here on a Friday evening. For first time email subscribers, you are emailed a coupon for four complimentary tickets to a show. For a complimentary show (full price $20 and up) I was pleasantly surprised. However, I would have been disappointed in the main act and service if I had paid full price. The show started at 7:30 and two comedians performed for around 40 minutes before the main act. I honestly thought these two "intro" comedians were hilarious and incredible, but the main act was odd and less funny. Seen Ryan Neimiller, fresh off America's Got Talent. Awesome show! The venue is a quaint comedy space right inside the Mall of America. Booked a dinner and a show. It was worth it. Showing up early and asking about accessibility, the staff was on point in checking needs. Was able to get a nice table and have easy access to the bathroom. Trust me, even if you drink very little, a god comedian gets you going. Then rushing back to your seat for more laughs. The food was good, with a great cheesecake. Our waitress was very nice and checked on us throughout the evening. This was a great evening of laughs, food, and service. Thanks! read more
