I had Rick do some drywall and smooth stucco work for me. Would call again in the future straight away for any future drywall or stucco work. Responsive, friendly, flexible scheduling both for initial review and actual work, reviewed the situations and explained his assessments and plans up front, worked efficiently, and was respectful of the property by minimizing mess. The drywall work was maybe a bit non-standard, it involved floating a section of wall out around a built-in bookcase to make it plumb. Rick crafted a jig to facilitate the work. The smooth stucco patching was probably more typical, filling in some drilled holes. Rick did his best to color match and secured my approval on the color before starting. He also noticed, offered to fix, and fixed several gouges in the stucco, which was nice. Lastly, Rick himself doesn't do painting, but he did refer me to Jorge The Painter and I was just as pleased with that referral. read more

I have used Rick Davis since 2001. He supervised sand blasting the old stucco from my house. Then he and his crew brown coated and restuccoed my house. It still looks brand new over 20 years later. Recently he had to patch the stucco after plumber had to break out stucco to fix plumbing problems. His work resulted in the patch blending in with the original. You can't tell where the patching is. We noticed water intrusion in our place and believed it was due to damage to the Stucco. As a result we looked up repair specialists and found Rick Davis and decided to have him come take a look. Now in the PAST other "experts" have come and looked (before we had water intrusion) and told us the Stucco DESPERATELY needed to be redone. Rick Davis did a COMPLETE inspection of the area water was intruding and a COMPLETE inspection of the stucco and concluded.. NO STUCCO WORK NEEDED TO BE DONE. He checked several times and said "there is no damage to the stucco" and helped walk the property and discovered drainage issues that he felt was responsible for the water intrusion. He explained that based on the year the unit was built and how the water is draining, it is the most logical explanation. How many contractors take time out of their day to come to your place only to explain why you DON'T need their services AND THEN help you diagnose the actual problem? There was no fee. No bill. Just an honest person, doing an honest job. I can't say I HOPE to have stucco damage some day, but I KNOW that if/when that day does come, I will call Rick Davis! I called to request an Estimate for stucco repair job for a fair sized apt bldg. He apologized and told me that he was currently backed up with work and couldn't handle anymore. I thanked him for his candor and he said that he could refer me to "others in his field that were capable and competent" We started to talk about "my issues" (i won't go in details - its unimportant) at length and he gave me suggestions to perhaps follow thru on and it might even be cheaper - saving me money. This gentleman is a contractor of the "Old School" a rapidly disappearing breed. One that is more concerned with providing Good work for services rendered at a fair price that is satisfactory for both parties. I've been doing this for a while to see a change that is overtaking the contracting services. Too many Overcharging for services and they will lie to your face & push unnecessary work racking up thousands of dollars that could have been done for a few hundred. Rick came by to check out some stucco that was peeling off my house. He checked it out an even though some added stucco was falling off, there was stucco underneath that was still in good condition. Thus his services weren't needed and he suggested a fix I could do myself.
