I ordered the rib tips for delivery, and they were a total letdown--tough, skimpy on the portions, and tasted like they were reheated from the day before. The "unforgivable" part? They forgot the sauce. Without it, the mediocre seasoning stood out even more. You also get very few fries for the price. Had Rickette's only a few times at this location. The very 1st time I ordered the wings with mix sauce, it was delicious. I believed I was served by the owner that day. The last few times I ordered the same thing wings with mix sauce, but got mix sauce with heavy lemon pepper that made it way too salty to eat. Because my 1st experience was pleasant I decided to try again, the last few times I ordered was with a young lady, I specifically told her mix sauce only no lemon pepper please to ensure the same mistake doesn't happen. They put it on there anyway. I brought it back and she told me that's salt & pepper. She did my order and it still had salt & pepper & now hot sauce instead of mixed sauce. I tried Rickette's on Taylor St for the first time this evening. I ordered a 4 pc white (2 breasts, 2 wings, fried hard, with salt pepper and mild sauce and I ordered a small rib tip. 1 didn't finish either order. I was THOROUGHLY disappointed when I tasted the food. I'm not trying to bash the establishment I'm just giving my reaction to the food I received. First of all the chicken wasn't fried hard at all, the skin WASN'T crispy and had very little batter, no salt or pepper. I HATE loose skin on chicken, that chicken should've been cooked 20 minutes longer so that it would've been crispy, the skin was soft and loose. The fries were thin, frozen type, not tasty and scarce, not many came with the order, I could count how many I got. The mild sauce was thin and there was so little on the order it didn't cover any of it, it was flavorless. The rib tips tasted baked or boiled, I know ribs well and the rib tips didn't taste like they were cooked on a charcoal grill at all. The chicken & rib tips didn't taste like they had much seasoning. I got there around 6:30p and it was a 30 minute wait (they said 20 min.) If it wasn't so late I would've taken the food back for a refund. I saw reviews on TikTok about Rickette's, that's why I wanted to try it, maybe their other locations are better, the one on Taylor gets an F grade and it's one and done, I won't go back there. read more

The chicken was so crunchy and tasty, NOT overly or under seasoned, NOT greasy, SO juicy on the inside. The fries were great and a ton of them. Fed a family of 4 for 2 days and still had left overs! They have classic sides as well and I recommend the Mac and Cheese. It is a straight to the point and comforting meal. The price is worth the quality you get.
