Very high quality and my dog has been doing great with it. As for price, that guy saying he would have to spend $400 a month on a 55-pound dog must feeding a couple of other pets too (or buying food in one pound packages). I have a 50 pound dog. He gets one brick of food per meal, which means I buy about 6 bags of food per month. Price per bag averages low $30s (I don't buy the highest priced offerings). That equals less than $200 a month. Plus, there's no shipping charge for me, as I drive to the place and buy in person. Pro tip - we separate every frozen brick with paper and allow them to thaw in our fridge in a big tupperware. That solves the issue of unwrapped bricks of food falling apart. read more

After a week of using the Midwestern Chicken as a topper to my two dogs' Zignature kibbles, I am sold. Both adjusted very well to the new food, and it has markedly improved their digestion. Both have more regular stool movements, and they are firm and formed. Each has food sensitivities to different things, so the fact that they both have adjusted to readily to this food speaks volumes. No, it's not a fancy retail location. But you are not paying premium prices, either, for the high retail rent. Very highly recommended. read more

All 3 of my dachshunds have been on this food for a couple of years now and it comes highly recommended by them all, and they rotate through the beef, fish and goat with no issues. My eldest one developed IBD back in 2020 and has been doing so much better with the Ricks food. She has a custom diet made up as she has now become allergic to chicken, but needs the ginger and turmeric to support her stomach. It's not crazy expensive to do and is ready in 48 hours. Mark is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the custom diets, and we're now customers for life read more

My dog loves Rick's dog food. -1 star because the food comes in large, unstructured plastic bags that cause the bricks of food to fall apart over the week. I wish they had a reusable container service, as rigid containers would solve this problem and eliminate plastic waste in our community. read more

I stopped by for the first time after finding their website. I have a 7 year old finicky dog with food allergies who recently decided to stop eating his food. The staff was friendly and answered my many questions. I purchased 5 pounds of the allergy mix which features goat as the protein. I really love Ricks. I am very pro feeding human grade food to your dog. You would not want to eat burned brown balls every day so why would you make your dog do that? They make good, wholesome, nutrient rich dog food that is easy to portion AND cost effective. Everyone who works there is friendly and professional. When you go to purchase the food you can actually see the kitchen where they make it which is always organized and clean. I try to keep it interesting for my Bazzy by rotating through the different signature meals and heating it up a little bit so he feels like he is getting a hot meal. Awesome local pet food store. Every time I come in, they are baking away so I know everything is fresh. The owners are very friendly and don't mind that I bring my dog into the store. My dog has stomach issues but their food doesn't give him any trouble; he loves it. They have a nice selection of treats in addition to regular dog food. I'm always surprised how cheap it is to get food from them compared to larger brands. Overall, I highly recommend. read more

The food is amazing - my dog loves this stuff. The staff, though - many don't have a personality. Yes, the product is the most important thing and they've got that down; but it's a dog food place!! Dog people are typically very friendly. Perhaps that have cat lovers working there?!? Plus, I brought my dog in for the first time - absolutely no acknowledgement from any of the staff. Nothing. I'm a very happy new customer. I just started feeding my two dogs Rick's Dog Deli food ten days ago, and the results are truly impressive! I've noticed that my big, long-haired dog isn't shedding much at all now. He seems more content and he loves his new food. My little dog has now stopped eating dirt! She is also much less itchy. I have been coming to Rick's for all of my dogs food and treats for almost 2 years. It feel like I have hit the jackpot! My big guy Jack is allergic to everything. They came up with a mix that he loves! It also has extra parsley for that sticky breath and a bit of ground bone that keeps his teeth clean. Same thing with my picky little one. He loves it!!
