I had the saddest looking breakfast which was quite a disappointment. I had high hopes based on the reviews and menu description. The two by five dish looked miserable, especially the sausage. They looked shriveled up. I swapped the toast for the stuffed hashbrowns and that was the highlight. The stuffed hashbrowns contained cheese, maple bacon, sour cream and green onions. Pretty much a meal on its own as it was quite a big portion. The hash was also crispy which was nice. The rest of the breakfast dish was passable but not wow. Excellent service by the server which made the experience not too bad. Hopefully the lunch items would be better? Not sure if I will go back again though. read more

I want to like this location - I do... but sometimes their dine in service is slow. Ricky's chicken strips are my go to (perfectly crispy and tender)! The reason for rating is anytime we dine in it's a bit of a drag: once, on our hour lunch the food took 45 minutes to come - we all ordered chicken strips - had 5 minutes to inhale and then the rest to settle our bill and head back to work. We do take out often, but I wish their BLTC Salads were larger portioned!!! It is so yummy but at 19$ and in a small container I'm always left unsatisfied. It's a 3 on yelp but a 3.5 if I could give half stars. Looks like they're getting ready to make it a Ricky's/ Famoso though like the rest of the franchise! read more

Sunday breakfast, the food was good (great omelette, perfect hash browns) and the coffee is good. The staff are friendly and professional, but the uneven distribution of work meant that a customer waited forever for a coffee refill. It seems that for the 4 front of house, 2 servers run most of the tasks, and 2 servers are not sure where best to help out. One suggestion would be: when bringing out menus to seat a table, take a pot of coffee too, then on your return trip you can check on tables, keep cups filled, maybe even take back some finished plates. Then you will not have a customer waiting forever for a coffee refill. One trip to make many customers happy. read more

It's Ricky's so the food is not spectacular but as expected it's decent. The service was good. The thing that turned us off was the choice of music, Christmas Carols to a pounding rave beat! Just awful! For that reason alone I would not go back. read more

We came here during the later part of the evening and wanted to eat a late dinner. I came to this place before during breakfast and had a pretty extensive breakfast/brunch type menu. This location is close to the SOLO district - by Brentwood and very close to the Whole Foods, Skytrain and quite of a busy area. Parking around this area can be a challenge, but during the later evenings It was easy to find. When I and my partner entered the restaurant it was quite slow during the evening 8pmish. I believe that there were just a handful of seats. We ordered the radical bacon cheeseburger with a side of fries, tomato basil soup and also the dinner size chicken tenders and fries. The issue here is that our waitress was a little forgetful unfortunately she had to come back to reconfirm the order. She had mentioned that it was "busy" because there was a table of 16 that did not put in a reservation - which was her reasoning. We ask for some side plates, water and napkins but she had forgotten. Later on, when we got our dinner - We ate more than half of the dinner and then she decided to check back on us. Still the restaurant was not busy at all. In all honestly I think this server was new. Came here to grab some breakfast and they have a great deal for kids! Free pancakes or fruit for toddlers! It wasn't too crowded and got a seat right away. We tried the chicken and waffles and the omelet, which was a large portion and pretty well done. The service was great too. Lots of parking out front or in the structure. read more

My family has been coming here lately! It's within walking distance - also right off the Brentwood skytrain station. Our servers have been incredibly friendly which is obviously the #1 most important thing to look for in a server! And yes the orders have been correct too. Last time the manager gave our toddler a free bottle of orange juice - for no reason - really appreciated. I was waiting for this restaurant to open for the longest time! I kept seeing "under construction" signs for this business at the Solo district and now it's finally open. This is another business we will probably frequent often as it is so close to our place. Yay for laziness!! I got the classic Clubhouse on sourdough. Love that there is such a great variety of options for sides. I got the chicken tortilla soup for no added $$ which was awesome. Yummy and good on a budget! The Clubhouse came with three triangles of sandwich. I was too full after two of the triangles so took the third one home. Service was good and everyone was so friendly. I saw a $10 off glance pay promo for Ricky's at this location and decided it was an easy decision to skip cooking and to head here for dinner! The promo ends on Sept 24th so you still have time to head there and use the app! It was my first time visiting a Ricky's restaurant and I was very pleased with the great service and food they have. I order smaller portion of the turkey meal and my husband ordered the mushroom burger. Both were really good and a good size for a quick family style diner. They waitress was really nice, constantly checked on us and explained the promo clearly. In the end we each paid only under $5 for our meal after the promo! Such a great deal! read more

Ricky's has recently opened it's doors at the Solo location in Brentwood. We decided to give them a try for lunch since we live next door and are always looking for more food options. Walking in, I saw that this location isn't as large as a typical Ricky's. They have bar style seating, a number of tables and five full booths by the window. Since all the booths were full, we were seated at one of the smaller tables. The staff all seemed super friendly, and well-prepared despite all being new to serving at this location. I ordered the grilled-cheese & bacon sandwich with tomato basil soup and my wife ordered a club sandwich. The grilled-cheese was pretty good. They melt cheese on the pan while frying the sandwich which causes a crusty cheese "wing" which is a nice twist for a traditional sandwich. The tomato basil soup was surprising as well as it contained tomato chunks and wasn't just a pure cream based soup. My wife said her sandwich was delicious as well! Upon leaving, the wait staff continued to be super friendly, asking us how everything was and hoping we had a good meal. If they can continue this service, I'm sure this location will be quite successful! read more

This place was surprisingly good. Although it serves similar food to Ricky's Country Restaurant on Boundary Rd. , the food here is a notch above. The BLTC salad comes with a mini loaf of garlic toast that was more than decent. The club sandwich was a few rungs above average. The steak was cheap and tasty (according to my son - an avid foodie-in-training). The cheesesteak sandwich was almost considered good. PSA: the Brentwood location lets you pick whichever $4 drink special you want - even if it's not the allocated day. This means you can get mimosas, beer, wine, highballs, and Caesars for $4 anyday and everyday. I got a Caesar, and it came with celery and an olive. I had asked for not too spicy, but found that there wasn't enough of a kick but added the bbq and garlic Tabasco on the side. I found it just a tad on the watery side, even though I had asked for less ice, but the extra spice helped with that I saw that they had a happy hour menu with $3 fries so I think I'll be back next time for that. They said they were going to set up their patio next week so I'm thinking $4 drinks + patio It's hard to find a place with $4 drinks outside of happy hour so I'm really excited about this new discovery! May 25/22 - I had the tomato basil soup. For $6.99 I received about 1 cup (8 oz) or, to try to be as fair as possible, maybe 12 oz....and about 7 stale croutons with a dab of cream. Lol Other than that, I wasn't expecting much for a Ricky's. Food is pretty standard stuff, kid friendly, but well cooked! Chicken tenders that weren't dried out! Everyone pretty happy with their choice from the steak, braised stuff, Pasta, the super mini kids lasagna, the kids burger that looked like a decent real burger but miniaturized. Sure, it's not an exciting menu, but for the kind of place it is and well cooked food, it's a win. Friendly staff, but it wasn't busy either, important because bad staff would just hide away when not busy, they seemed pretty active to watch out for where they could help out. Out of all the "chain eateries" I have never had issue with Ricky's. I would actually chose them over the other chain eateries in the area to be honest. It is more laid back, down to earth and the food isn't pretentious. You're not going to get a gourmet meal but there is a lot of comfort food that is done right. It is by the train station so whenever I want to hang out with some friends in Burnaby we come here. I had a burger with a side of fries. Burger was done right with generous amount of fixings and fries. The service was prompt for being mid busy dinner service and of course just like with all my other visits, the service was friendly. This was my first time at Ricky's. Went there on sunday, 5 pm. The place was completely empty. Menu has the usual selection of salds, sandwiches, and burgers, and the usual kids' dishes. I had the California salad with chicken breast. The chicken was pretty good, both in taste and preparation. The salad was actually made of piles of its different ingredients on a bed of greens. I didn't really mind that the ingredients were not mixed together, but isn't that the definition of a salad? The salad dressing was nice too. The kids liked their mac n cheese and the chicken strips. I sat waiting for contact with our server. No water or coffee offered for the next 5-7 minutes. My husband arrived. We waited for a few more minutes and still no service. We left. Won't be back soon.
