Tried to go last night, showed up and the bartender told me they were closed. Figured I'd try a little earlier tonight. Walked in and place was empty, had one four top. Sat at the bar and the bartender got me a drink. Asked for a menu and ordered food to go. That was the last I saw the bartender til my food was done. I definitely would have spent more money at the bar, but there was no one to be found. Got my food to go. The bar is pretty big and there's a lot of open space in the restaurant. The menu looks pretty good and I got the Rasta Riggies. They were very good and had just enough spice, but for $22 I thought I'd get a little more. Not sure if I'll be back to try again, as I wasn't impressed with the service. Food wasn't bad though and I would hope tonight was just a fluke because it was a slow night

Jerk chicken and lamb chops were delicious. The food was well seasoned and cooked well. We went two nights in a row.

Had their special. Tacos De Birria with rice and beans were very good…read more Pollo con Crema was also very good, portion large. Chicken Empanda so,so wouldn't get again. Service was OK server tried her best. Margarita was just ok, nothing special. Restaurant is ok inside, nothing fancy but appears to be clean with quite a few tables. Would return but not order empanda. You get chips and salsa.

A restaurant that messes up a carry out order needs to follow a few steps to make it right. First,…read morehave a phone number that works. Second, apologize profusely. Third, make sure that you fix the order. Finally, make it up to the patron for having to make a second trip to the restaurant. (This is for pick up orders, specifically). My pick up order was supposed to be ready at 6:45, but I sat there until 7:00 waiting. Then when I got home, I found that we were missing two entrees. The phone number on the website went straight to a busy signal, so leaving my family to eat, I drove back and informed the restaurant of the issue. They handed me one of the entrees in about 10 minutes, but after waiting a while longer, I found the server to ask about the other one, and had to argue with him and the cook that what I ordered and paid for wasn't in the bag. Finally they agreed to fix it and handed me what they insisted were two beef chalupas. Guess what- the picture above is what they handed me. It's soggy corn tortillas with beans, sour cream, lettuce and tomato. Definitely not worth the $15 they charged. Most of the food that we got was tasty. Not amazing, but not terrible. But not worth the $120 for dinner, either. If they had apologized, gotten the food right the second time, and done anything at all to make it worth my while to make a second trip for food I'd already paid for i would have much better things to say. As it is, I'm just disappointed. Go here or not, I guess. But maybe double check your order before you walk out.

My husband and I go out for Mexican food almost every week, and when we say "Mexican," we mean…read moreRancho Viejo. It's our go-to restaurant and has become one of our favorite local spots. We love the food so much that we each order the same meal almost every visit. Some might say we should branch out, but when you know what you love, why change it? From the moment we walk in, we're always greeted with friendly smiles and great service. The staff is welcoming, the service is quick, and the food always arrives hot and fresh. As someone who doesn't enjoy a lot of spice, I appreciate that their salsa is flavorful without being overly hot. Pair that with fresh chips and the delicious, melted cheese drizzled over my entrée, and I'm a happy customer every time. What keeps us coming back, though, is more than just the food. It's the consistency, the hospitality, and the feeling of supporting a family-owned restaurant that truly values its customers. If you haven't tried Rancho Viejo yet, you're missing out. We highly recommend it and look forward to our next visit every single week! A Central New York favorite in our book!

Weird experience at Rancho Viejo. I heard a lot of good…read morethings about this place so I am not sure if I just went on an off day? Food wise I thought everything was okay. I did not see much evidence on it being authentic. Nothing here is spicy. The chips and salsa tasted more like chips and tomato juice. The table didnt have any hot sauces, just salt and pepper, so we asked for salsa verde so we could add some heat to the salsa, but they didn't know what salsa verde was. My mom asked for just the guacamole and rice from her guac, salad, and rice side that comes with the meal but they told her that would be an upcharge which we thought was odd. We got our food and it was tasty, but even though the menu mentioned having jalapeños on our meals, we had to ask for them as it only arrived with bell peppers, to which the staff had to go and see if there was any. I ordered the seafood fajitas, but they didnt have the mix so it was only shrimp and tilapia. My meal arrived without tortillas for the fajitas. Once it was time to go, we paid with cash and waited for change. To which the staff came back and started giving us back our money. We were confused, we wanted change so we could tip but not the entire amount back? So she went back and the three staff members kept counting over and over, confused and saying we dont have this kind of cash to tip back loudly infront of the restaurant. My dad said, 'can you just give me ten back? You can keep the rest.' It was like they had no money in that restaurant or never recieved cash before. We were offered no other options like ones, or fives. Yet the place was full of customers. It felt bizarre to assume that no one there was tipping lower bills. They also all did speak english. Eventually we just left.
