Absolutely Ridiculous Experience I've never experienced something so petty at a restaurant. I asked to PAY EXTRA for more spice( green spicy sauce) yes, willing to pay the extra fee and was flat-out refused. Not because they were out. Not because it wasn't allowed. Simply because they "don't sell extra spice." Let that sink in: a restaurant refusing money for something that costs them pennies. If you enjoy bland food, inflexible staff, and management that clearly doesn't care about customer satisfaction, this is the place for you. There was zero effort to accommodate a simple request, zero explanation that made sense, and zero concern for the customer experience. Food should be customizable. Hospitality should involve common sense. This place has neither. I left frustrated, disappointed, and wondering how a restaurant can be in business while actively refusing to meet the most basic customer requests. Save your money and your appetite. Recently went with my mates. Everything okay. pricing was fair, place was nice and quiet, service was good. Everything was good except for the fact that they added their own tip(gratuity). Bill was 100ish and they added 15% ($15.50)... I didn't say add tip or nothing, I asked for the bill and was going to tip until I saw that they added it on their own. I thought "A tip is a voluntary amount of money left by a customer to acknowledge and reward the service they received" but no... they add their own without our knowledge and charges us like it's nothing. read more

I'm trying to visit new small businesses during Covid instead of living on Taco Bell, but Rico Rico was pretty damn disappointing. We stopped in and they were clearly adhering to safety restrictions, which was a comfort, but I still don't know that I'd return. Prices were a little high for what we got (almost twenty bucks for chicharrones and fries), and it was a LONG wait--upwards of 25m. If the food had been GREAT we could've endured it, but the chicharrones were pretty bland and under-seasoned, and the fries were soggy and flaccid. On a more minor note, we asked three different times for two sets of forks, but when we got into our car to eat, there was still only one and I had to go back in to request another set of utensils. I'm 100% Peruvian and I know about Peruvian food , so I'm being honest when I say the food is tasty and has a touch of Perú. Rico Rico is a hidden gem , their food is flavorful, their serving portion are great for the prices. I have tried different plates and they don't disappoint, their beef lomo salteado is delicious , rotisserie chicken full of flavor and juicy are my favorites. read more

Im gonna give this place 2 starts that are only earned by the food. And sometimes is not even the greatest but at least edible. This place has the potential to be an awesome traditional peruvian restaurant, but the service is HORRIBLE! And when I say horrible I mean it in all aspects! Everytime I come here the waitress are very unfriendly, they are not welcoming, never smile, dont say hi, dont say thank you, nothing. I only order here for take out, so I cant even start to imagine how it would be to eat in. Ive always had the problem that when I call the phone rings for minutes and nobody answers so I have to call back several times before they answer. Sometimes I just assume the phone is not working, or they are closed, and eat somewhere else. This last time, it happened again. I called 5 times, rang non stop for minutes until I would get tired and hang up... Then called back 4 times and it was busy... Called again 4 more times and same scenario, phone rang long time and no answer. Since I already have the experience of them not answering, decided to go there in person. I get there, 2 girls; one seems to be taking people orders the other one just wanders around, I decided to test them. I called the restaurant to see if the phone wasnt working, and to my surprise I heard it ringing and once again, nobody seemed to care that it was ringing. If you want lousy service along with lousy food, and an environment so loud you'll leave with a headache then this is a place for you. We arrived a little before 6 pm and waited almost 7 minutes before a waitress came over. Since I am not Peruvian, I had several questions about the menu, unfortunately she couldn't be bothered with me or my questions. When she came back 6 minutes later I manage to get in two questions. I asked her what the "tortilla especial" contained and rather than explain it she simply said, "well they're not making that anymore today, if you want it you will need to wait." I still have no idea what's in it. I ordered the Corn with Cheese and she said they didn't have any, yet minutes later the table next to us was served a huge order of just that. We ordered the combination platter Chifas and tallarines with pork. as well as a chicken with vegetable dish as this place is suppose to be known for its roasted chicken. Oh and we order a diet Pepsi and diet Inca Kola. Almost 18 minutes later our food arrived. The fried rice with pork was quite delicious, but the noodles were just nasty. A few minutes later our chicken and veggies arrived. Apparently this Peruvian restaurant's take on vegetables is large cubes of onions, 4 chunks of red pepper and huge pieces of scallions (not chopped, chunks). Silly me assumed I would be getting roasted chicken, their specialty, with veggies but I was wrong. Our soda cans arrived 4 minutes after the food arrived and having to remind the waitress we ordered drinks. I promise you I will never step foot in this place again! Went to this place in the early afternoon to look at the menu. We asked the girl at the counter if they put ajinomoto aka MSG IN dishes and she seemed to have no idea what that was. I wanted to order papa a la huancaina but my friend was still unsure about the MSG because the girl Behind the counter had no idea, didn't speak really any English and didn't want to bother to go ask the chef this simple question. We even asked her in Spanish and she just stood there like a deer in headlights. So I said "never mind". We walked out without ordering anything because their counter person could not answer one simple question. Would never go back again. Speak English because number 1 you are now in America not Peru nor any other Latin American country. If you can't be bilingual even what are you doing here!! At the recommendation of my Peruvian friend, I ordered the roasted chicken, maduros (which is fried sweet plaintains), white rice, beans and salad. This was the first time we ever ate there. The chicken was out of this world. The green sauce that it comes with is delicious. The maduros were one of the best I've had made to perfection. The rice and beans also very good. And their salad/salad dressing is amazing. We were completely thrilled with the food. I'm not sure why Rico Rico would get such a negative review, because I personally do not think it was warranted. I hope that those reading this review, would take it into consideration moreso than the negative. I come from a lineage of chefs and know how to critique food. Best Peruvian food in town hands down! I recommend this place to all friends. They have good "chifa" and the regular peruvian food. The meats, the ingredients; you could tell by the flavors that they don't cheap out at all. The quantity is big per plate. I could finish the plates, but man am I stuffed. I have tried different types of plates of traditional food here in Rico Rico and they all have been excellent and the staff is nice , if you like hot sauce the Aji they have its really good and the dressing and the aji are homemade. I will Recommend Rico Rico restaurant to anyone read more

For a quick lunch, I tried this Peruvian restaurant and ordered the chicken soup with ginger. It was more than I expected - a large portion, plenty of sliced white chicken, pasta, and luscious grated ginger. The emphasis, in my opinion, in this small place is the food prep. The person at the register is also the hostess and waitress, and although speaking basic English, once she understood my inquiry about delivery distance, I was satisfied.
