Ricos Antojitos is a new juice bar, smoothie, ice cream, and frozen yogurt place in Oceanside (North County San Diego area). I made it here after a Zumba class across the street in Club Jennifit dance studio. Their menu has a lot of different items (see attached pictures). I opted for the Horchata (Rice Cinnamon Drink). My family and I came to get some snacks after having lunch next door and the service was good and quick. Everything looks delicious!

Service was a little slow but they were busy. The peppino loco and pina agua fresca was appetizing and refreshing. Customer service was great, the cashier guy was super friendly. I found this place on a Yelp search for local açaí bowls. I was a little skeptical cuz it looks like a fast food Mexican food spot. But my açaí bowl was really good and I will be returning. Definitely hit the spot. Can you find fancier bowls at other high end spots, yea. But there's nothing wrong with this one. They don't have a lot of menu options, maybe 2 variants. But this is great. On my girlfriend and I's search for a delicious acai bowl in the Oceanside area we stumble upon Ricos Antojitos on a hot day at 3PM. They have a pretty extensive menu of drinks and they have a ton of ice cream flavors like chamoy and every paleta flavor you can imagine! The workers are super friendly and they're happy to offer you ice cream samples, but this acai bowl just fell short for me. My girlfriend took one spoonful expecting that thick and great sweet acai flavor, but to no avail. They use fresh banana, strawberry, coconut shavings, and granola which offset the weird, almost non-flavor of the acai but it just didn't meet the mark. I was pissed because I couldn't find a place for an Acai bowl after surfing and googled and this place came up...sort of, not being sure I called and confirmed that they in fact made Acai bowls. I grew up in Chula Vista and whenever we come back down to visit, we are fortunate enough to stay with our friends who still live there. They live off of Olympic Parkway, which is just a hop, skip, and a jump from Teresita's Fruiteria, my favorite place for Chamangos. This last trip, I got my wife hooked on this beautiful drink. So much so, that on our way back to the Bay Area, and already in Encintas, she told me she wished she had 1 more before we left. Well, who am I to turn down a Chamango! Since we were still in San Diego proper, I was pretty sure I could find a place. I didn't want to stray too far away from "the 5," so I looked up places along the freeway. I found Ricos Antojitos on my Yelp app and I immediately put it in Google maps. While it wasn't exactly right off the freeway, it wasn't too far. We got to the place around 11:30 and there was a about 3 people ahead of us. The menu is huge, literally and figuratively, but I think it's basically different variations of the same drinks. Nonetheless, it took me a while to glance over the menu. While my wife, of course, wanted the Chamango, I was tempted to get something different. But, at the end of the day, I went with the usual. In the Bay Area, the drink/dessert is called a Mangonada. However, it's usually made with mango ice cream. They can make it either way here (they call it a "smoothie" for the non-ice cream version). In my opinion, I prefer it the way it's made in SoCal. The beauty of this drink is the different flavor profiles you taste with every sip. You have sweet, salty, sour and spicy. The mango ice cream makes it a little too sweet for me. Also, the version over here, they put a little more of the chamoy sauce. While I love chamoy, it might have had a little too much for me (however, my wife couldn't get enough of it). read more

There are so many options you are bound to like something. Everything is made fresh and on sight. They serve one scoop ice cream for a dollar, so I got a mango ice cream scoop. Not bad the taste was good. Both the drink and scoop tasted well made. The service was not bad either.
