Haven't been home for years and this was so exciting to see a new bakery. Everything looked great. My friend bought a strawberry cake from here that was very good. I purchased a Toffee latte that tasted good. My only complaint was that it was a whole two knuckles short for $6.95. I would think it would be at least to the top of brim. Also, be very careful. It was so hot that it burnt my tongue. There were two people working and it took about 10 minutes for me to get my coffee. I tried the White chocolate chip cookies but they just were not that flavorful, yet they were huge in size. Just bland. My daughter asked a local, is there anything really good that we should try. His response was, HMMMM some things are good some and others not so much. She decided not to get anything. The place was very busy on Saturday at 4 PM. I went in when they opened this morning and the shelves were only about 20% stocked so I looked in the cold case and bought a strawberry cake parfait and a caramel pudding. The whipped cream on the cake parfait had zero flavor and cake wasn't much better. The caramel pudding was more solid than pudding consistency. There was no flavor to it and the caramel on the bottom wasn't very sweet so even if you stirred it into the pudding, it would not add much flavor. The best part was the ceramic container. I've only ordered one thing here and that being the vietnamese coffee with sea salt cream because it was really popular online, it was really good, there was slightly too much ice unfortunately which didn't leave too much for the actual drink. However I wasn't overly thirsty and it was less ice then other locations therefore the experience of getting the drink was still good and the place was very pleasant to attend. read more

So happy that this location opened up last year in Oceanside. This is a great spot for fresh pastries, tasty drinks, and various cakes. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the aroma of freshly baked bread and sweet treats. My favorites are their Sea Salt Coffee and Iced Mocha are customer favorites--smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. Staff and service here is OK. I know since it is a busy store, there is a wait time and I am patient in getting my pastries. My favorite pastry is their Taro Puff and Custard Bun. Everything tastes fresh, and the self-serve bakery setup makes it fun to pick out your own treats. I have noticed that their buns aren't as large as other 85C locations. This is disappointing especially since you are paying the same price as other locations but getting less pastry to enjoy. Very organized, and clean. Prices were good for certain items but seemed really high for other stuff. Ended up getting 3 chocolate chip cookies, that were actually oatmeal chocolate chip which I don't mind but it was labeled incorrectly. And a matcha Choco bun which was delicious and not too sweet at all. The cookies were good but not fantastic Could definitely go with a dark brewed coffee or a sweet drink. Service was quick, and there was no line when I went. Next time I go I will sit in and enjoy one of their beverages. read more

My kids have been here a number of times so I have eaten the pastries, but I've never actually been to the bakery myself. My first trip there did not disappoint. It is clean, friendly, and there is a lot going on. There are a ton of pastries on display that you can grab and take to the front and a bunch of other desserts that are behind glass. They also have a wide selection of drinks, including different coffees, and Boba drinks and Thai teas. My first time at this location. It's a little smaller than the other location I normally go to in Mira Mesa. I went later in the day so they were not fully stocked. We got a handful of pastries which were all delicious. I also ordered Thai Tea with Boba (no ice and 50% sweet). It tasted more like milk than Thai Tea to me. The coffee is one of my favorites, but they never seem to have Vietnamese coffee anymore which is what I come here for :/ sometimes they have signs that say they are out, but they do have some left. I absolutely love having an 85 degrees so close to me! My friends and I used to drive all over to get to other locations, but they were always quite far. Honestly 85 degrees is one of my favorite bakeries, and this location is no different. It's actually more spacious than I am typically used to when compared to the closest other locations. I liked that you could wait in line to order drinks or you could use their touch screen ordering kiosks. Also, parking is really easy since this bakery is located in a large plaza. The baked goods not only tasted fantastic, but there was such a great variety! I loved how spacious it is when picking out baked goods too. It was also well organized as all baked goods were labeled and spaced. The store was clean and neat overall too! My husband and I picked up their seasonal strawberry danish, a white chocolate strawberry bun, a matcha chocolate bun, and the matcha red bean pin wheel. The last two mentioned previously that both contain matcha are some of my favorite go-tos and this location baked them to perfection. They taste exactly as they always do which is really heaven. I was extremely impressed with the white chocolate strawberry bun as it was just delicious and not overly sweet. My husband allowed me to have a bite of the strawberry danish as it quickly became his favorite. I understand why as it was fresh and not overly sweet either. I will obviously keep going back, but specifically for my next visit I can't wait to order some boba milk teas and lattes. They offer some of my favorite drinks so I can't wait! read more

Coming here always brings memories. I used to work at 85. I love it so much. Always I get the pork bun. A natural go to for me. Pretty much all of their bread is so so good! I haven't really drank boba from here but that as well you can rest assure is too good! It is very nice when you come in & you can grab a tray & tongs to go around & pick the breads out yourself. From savory to sweet. Soft bread. Made fresh every morning. They heat up any savory food items you may get as well & the call for it or drinks is very quick. This Asian-Inspired bakery & café is a chain that has spread from Orange County to San Diego. They're known for having a large variety of breads, cakes, sweet pastries and sandwiches. They also have a great selection of coffees, lattés and boba drinks. They're located just off of Mission Ave and El Camino Real in a busy shopping center, next to Planet Fitness Although the area can sometimes be known as sketchy, it's safe to park and dine-in. Upon walking-in, you'll see 2 electronic kiosks and you can use these to order any drinks from their café side. The menu is very easy to navigate & intuitive & you'll be given a receipt with order number for you to pick-up your drink. When it comes to pastries, you'll find their spacious establishment able to accommodate most crowds. With most of their sweets priced at under $4, many customers buy a lot of them. With this in mind, you can grab a tray from the table and then begin browsing their selections. It's best to start from the shelves on the south side and then walk east and eventually end up towards the cashiers on the north side. Also keep in mind to check the refrigerated section on your way; there are pies, cakes and bottled beverages too. If you know you'll be a frequent customer, I HIGHLY recommend downloading their APP and enjoying a FREE DRINK on your first order. There's also a REWARD PROGRAM for frequent purchases and I also saw a 50% off special too. I liked their jalapeño cream cheese roll, ube bread and mangotale roll. I love 85*C Bakery! I've always been a fan ever since I went for my first experience in Clairemont. Then followed it to Mira Mesa when it first opened. Me and my husband always make it a treat to come to 85 whenever we're in the area or when we're craving bread/pastries. For it to open up in North County San Diego, specifically Oceanside made the option to go here more often a huge possibility! We were glad to catch this place after the grand opening because it looked extreeemely busy. There's lots of parking in the plaza it's located in and you could even park along the curb around the building. This location is super clean and spacious. The bread selections surprised us because there were lots of new options of pastries and it looked like this location stocked up really well on bread. The racks were FULL of bread and it was 2pm. Typically in Mira Mesa, if you're there by the afternoon; most of the bread would be gone or out of stock for the day. That wasn't the case at this location. We were pleasantly pleased with the freshness of the bread and even saw the workers refilling some of the racks. Service was fast. The lines were not that long surprisingly. Took us maybe 15 mins to look through everything, grab what we needed and check out. Painless & smooth. This is a new location in North County! In the same shopping center as Burger King and Stater Bros. The layout of this store works. All of their pastries are packaged up so it doesn't feel as dirty since some people never understood the rules of using tongs. I used my 85°C app to get my January special of Buy 1, Get 1 50% off on their Top 10 drinks. The cashier helped us as soon as we walked up. They have a door that is locked from the outside on the east side of their store. I suggest a sign to go up to enter around the corner. I didn't notice, but hopefully the door is unlocked from the inside as an emergency exit. read more

I love 85C. I always stop by whenever I see one in the wild when traveling. I was thrilled to see that they made it to Oceanside, as it's not the most exciting place for Asian food. However, my excitement has waned after multiple visits. At first, I thought it was just the grand opening kinks, but their shelves have never been stocked during any of my visits. Every time I go, they are always out of something, no matter if it's a busy weekend or slower weekday. Today, their selection was so limited, that I couldn't find anything I really wanted. Still have love for the 85C brand and their products when I can get it, but this location is leaving me wanting more. On the upside, I have to give kudos to the staff here. This place is dangerous. Stopped by just to check out the goodies. Ended up walking out with more calories than I can count. The line was a tad long and I felt a little rushed going through and trying to look at everything. That was probably only because of it being so new. When I went to pay, the girl asked me if I had the app. I told her no. She didn't even offer to explain why I should have it. Nor did she tell me that if I spent 60 more cents, I could have gotten a coffee mug. I didn't read the sign until after I walked out. If the line hadn't been so long, I would have gone back in. There's a few spots to sit but not many. This isn't the place to come and order a treat and sit down and enjoy it. Now let's get to the delicious treats. We walked out with a cookies & cream chocolate mousse, a bag of nougat, ube bread, coconut twist, berrytale & premium milk bread. I can tell you the mousse was messy and delicious. The chocolate wasn't over powering, the ube bread was OUTSTANDING and the nougat reminded me of my childhood. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because of the customer service. Will we be back? We got a tote bag and a cool Oceanside mug for the grand opening with $25 purchase. Lots of items under $5 so we got a variety to try. So far I've had a hot dog in savory brioche pastry (4 star), lemon cupcake (very light, not very sweet, hint of lemon - 4 stars), and pineapple cake. We also got cinnamon roll brioche, cream puffs and strawberry cake to try! Definitely Taiwanese, so not as sweet and very light pastry items. Nice addition to the area for sure. Super excited 85 degrees opened in North County, I usually go to the one down in Mira Mesa. I think there are a few kinks that need to be worked on. It was really busy, spacious building, but not a lot of options to choose from compared to other locations. I do like the indoor seating around the corner. It was a bummer because I was hoping to get certain breads but they weren't available. Due to the high demand, a lot of items were sold out, but they did replenish while I was there. The line was a little complicated because there was no direction or sign and you could easily cut after ordering a drink. I am so glad they opened 85° in North County so I don't have to drive down to San Diego or up to Tustin for my Asian bakery fix however I think this one is still working out a couple of its kinks and the prices are comparable but some of the baked goods I got were not quite up to the quality that I'm used to at 85° The Matcha chocolate buns I got were barely filled, but I will say the moon cakes and the bread were awesome. My fave is the spicy sausage roll, the fresh milk bun, the tomato ravioli roll, the cream cheese brioche bread, and the strawberry deluxe cake. This bakery/coffee shop is amazing! I ordered a cake last month and it was the best I have ever tasted! I usually don't like cake because it always seems too dry and sweet. This is what I ordered: Deluxe Chocolate Mousse 8". Chocolate chiffon cake layered with chocolate mousse and dusted with sweet snow sugar and cocoa powder. Decorated with dark chocolate flakes, strawberries, chocolate glaze, and milk chocolate shards. It was seriously the best chocolate cake I have ever had in my entire life! I also went back to this store a few days ago with my daughter and granddaughter. My daughter loves this chain and has been to a few other locations. She was excited that there is now one in our home town. She ordered some milk bread and a boba drink and we each got a latte. I ordered a cinnamon twist. All of the pastries are individually wrapped, which I've never seen before. I don't usually eat pastries because they are way too fattening. But the cinnamon twist was worth the extra calories - so delicious! I highly recommend this place. It is very clean and well run! Funny story about the cake - I bought this cake for our senior pastor's birthday. I honestly didn't know how old he was - if I had to guess, somewhere in his late 60's.
