The canal bike path is beautiful - peaceful, pristine, and not crowded. It was challenging for us to go the full 13 miles up and back (we aren't experienced cyclists so it took about 2 hours), but we only had to stop a couple times. The staff at Rideaway were very helpful at getting us onto the right size bikes and explaining the route - highly recommend!

OK, then take down the "20 dollar tuneup!" sign out front tacked to the tree! Came the next day to rent and was told I need a bike rack to rent a bike. How many people have bike racks on their cars but don't have bikes?! I told him I was going to put it in a pickup and he agreed to rent a bike to me. I gave him my info and was just starting to secure the bike in the bed of the truck when this person came running out of the house yelling "No! No! Dad says no! Don't rent to them!" The guy said, "Sorry can't rent to you" We packed back up and left. Are you kidding? The entire process wasted 20 or so minutes. There are way better places to rent from. We ended going into Falmouth and rented from a very cool shop that was friendly and helpful and didn't have crazy attack dogs in undersized cages and odd people running out of the house shouting things. Don't go here. They crazy people.

I think the other reviewer forgets that this IS a business ... just as you can't drop your car off and get automatic tune-up, or stop in the doctor or attorney office and expect to be seen immediately. Also, I have always found that if you are friendly and courteous, most people are back to you. Sounds like the previous reviewer had an attitude.

The entire process couldn't have been easier. I forget the nice soft spoken woman's name that helped us but I can tell you the shop dog's name is Tree. Just took a few minutes to sign the agreement and we were on our way. She pointed us in the right direction to cross the street and in about a minute we were at the bridge pedaling towards the ocean. Fantastic ride and returning the equipment was just as quick. Highly recommend to visitors looking for a little exercise and fresh air!

Guy took forever to update but said the bike would take another couple days. A week later I called again. "We'll get back to you" No call. So 2 and a half weeks later I call and am told that the bike has been ready ( they never called me), and I can pick it up. No apology, no mention that they poorly communicated. I picked the bike up and they offered a discount, but I refused as it was never about $$. They are lousy communicators and don't seem to really care. But, they are busy, so good for them. I don't leave reviews much, and never bad ones, except this time.

The only thing that made the difference between four and five stars was the fact that my sister's bike basket wasn't fitting on the bike properly, and the bell didn't really work for her either. Other than that, the bikes rode smoothly, and we had a great time. They also had a cute dog at the bike shop that was friendly. If you're looking for a place to rent bikes, I recommend coming here.
