Just went to Ridge and Rail last night and had a great experience. Our drinks were great and price very well. Got the barbecue chicken pizza and it was delicious. Ordered the wings and they were very good and also ordered the Gyro and it was good as well. The Italian hoagie was good and the pretzel was good. Beyond beyond, so the restaurant was a country feel and a bar type setting very open air and a place where you're not pressured to hurry up and eat so that the table can be filled again. Understanding how this restaurant works that you walk up to the bar to order your drinks and food does not bother me one bit. I understand it can bother some because they want a true restaurant experience where they have a waitstaff to wait on them. I also understand people get frustrated when their food does not come out in a time that they feel it should. I also know that there are customers that fill out negative reviews that are from competing restaurants. I have found that the best way to find out if a restaurant is good is to experience it myself and not trust other people's reviews seeing as most are skewed one way or another. Had a long Talk with one of the owners Sarah and she genuinely loves what she is doing. She does not have to do this. She enjoys it! Thank you Sarah and Brian for a great night out. Thought I'd give them a try since they are close to home. Their artisanal bread with oil and herb was not what I had in mind. I pictured a loaf of some homemade bread with a good crust and warm soft center. What came out was a warm pita with a watered down balsamic vinegar with a few hunks of garlic floating in it. We got the wings breaded with the sauce on the side. They came out hot and nicely breaded. Having the sauce on the side kept them crispy until we discovered a chicken feather fried into the breading. The beers were cold and the wait staff very attentive. Good place to have a few drinks (they have a full bar) and watch a game. Save your appetite for some where else. read more

Food was delicious but the service leaves A LOT to be desired. Staff was more concerned about taking pictures of the food and beverages than waiting on customers. Who knows if this place is any good? I sure don't, despite trying in many ways to reach them and eat there. Wanted to meet friends for lunch, and loved the idea of supporting a new place. My Mom, who has Celiac disease (can't eat gluten) wanted to join, so I called ahead to the restaurant to ensure they had something on the menu she could eat. A recording on the phone said to Facebook Message them and they'd get right back to me. That was on 8/19, twelve days ago, and I'm still waiting for that response (ie, they never responded). We decided to go anyway that week, and our group arrived at 11:15am on a Thursday for lunch (since their published hours say they open at 11a). Waiting with my group for a long while standing in the opened entrance, with others joining the queue. Finally, around 11:30am, someone in a beer delivery uniform came out from the back and said that "someone would be in in about 20 minutes." WHAT??? Needless to say, we went elsewhere and won't be wasting any more of our time with this place. read more

service was awful! took at least 30 min to take order and about 30 min to get food. one of our family members got the wrong Oder. and everyone was almost done eating before she got hers corrected. the Philly cheesesteak sandwich was awful!!! the meat was dry and hardly any cheese. the menu is not updated for children's menu, it said orange slices and apple juice box, when we questioned it said it's no longer offered!. grandsons Mac and cheese was very dry and hard on the top! it was so loud we couldn't hear each other ! we were there at 5 pm and out of onion rings! read more

Food was outstanding. Everything was hot and tasty. Did not care for the service model. Had to have 6 people go to a desk to order. Once the food was delivered it seemed like we were forgotten about. Guess there are no soda refills. Now that we understand the model we will know what to expect next time. Food is definitely worth returning for. Music was loud. It's a beautiful setting. I hope the next restaurant does a better job because this train wreck isn't going to make it! Forget making a reservation. They do not answer calls or return messages. We needed to drive 45minutes (both ways) to verify a reservation could be made. Bartender took our info and the manager called the next day to apologize for dropping the ball. Fast forward to the night of our reservation. No table reserved. No knowledge of the reservation?? We split up our large party into multiple tables which was not the idea for a group dinner. I wish the meal redeemed itself. It didn't. Our food looked nothing like the owner taken pictures on Yelp and nothing eaten would make anyone in our group of 12 want to return. Lastly, whose idea was no wait staff and you order your drinks and food in two separate long lines. Everyone had food coming out at different times. Half our party was done as the others were waiting on food. Horrible experience all around. Oh- and thanks for adding 3% to my bill because you assumed I'd pay with a credit card. I paid in cash. Service was very good. Tried the meatball appetizer and found it dry and it did not have fresh mozzarella cheese, just standard cheese. I asked for a side of the sauce that made it much better. BE AWARE THEY ADD 3% TO THE BILL AUTOMATICALLY ASSUMING YOU WILL USE A CREDIT CARD VERSUS CASH. I find this practice offensive. It's loud in there and difficult to carryon a conversation. The menu is apps, limited salads & sandwiches and pizza. They're trying though I think having a total at the bill bottom of cost in cash versus credit card would be a better way. read more

Stopped in Friday after dinner for a drink. Interesting concept, seat yourself (per sign at the door), get your own drinks at bar (no waiters), order food at bar & they will bring you food. I guess no reason to leave a tip since the customers do all the work. Decided to go Sunday since all the tables had a pizza on them, it must be good! 4 of us arrived & sat ourselves. Got our own menus & silverware (no waiters, remember)? Decided on our orders & husbands went to the bar to order. Stood there 15 - 20 minutes later, they still had not ordered food or drinks. 2 women ahead of them wanted to pay their bill & they waited just as long. BTW, they were NOT that busy. Barmaid was washing dishes, laughed & said we are busy & made no attempt to get our order or let the ladies in front of us pay their bill. A kid around 8 yrs old was bussing tables & picking up debris, guessing the owners kid & they didn't want to pay a babysitter. Absolutely NO place for a kid. Extremely unprofessional. We left, never again. Absolutely ridiculous. If they treat us like they don't care - we can't care more than they do. We will gladly tip, if we had a waiter. We go out because we want someone to bring us food & we don't want to cook. Not here. Save your money & go somewhere where you will be appreciated. I went there for lunch this week with two friends. We all thought the place was very nice looking and were excited for the outdoor dining once warmer weather comes back. It was our first time there and they explained to us that you have to go to them to order drinks and food, but since we were there early and there were few people there, she graciously waited on us at the table. We all ordered hamburgers, nothing comes with them, fries are $5.00 extra, which we thought was a bit excessive since they often come included with a meal or with only a small up charge at other restaurants. With a glass of wine, a burger and fries my bill was $28.00, a bit more than I'm used to spending for lunch. We all agreed that we liked the place and we will go back but next time perhaps share a pizza to keep costs down. The biggest negative, other than the extra charge for fries, was noise level. We found it really hard to talk and be heard above the music. I think restaurants forget that most people come there with friends to talk, visit and catch up on things, not to sit quietly and listen to the music. read more

Decided to try the new Ridge and Rail out this past week. Unfortunately it wasn't very good. To start with you dont just get seated and have a waitress...you have to actually get back up, get in line and order from a kiosk. That's a ridiculous extra step. Nobody wants to do that. We started off with the Chorizo dip appetizer. It wasn't too bad but rather thin and runny. It was more like a coney dog topping rather than a dip. It was served with some bland and soft pita chips. They would have been much better toasted or served with some other kind of crunchy chips for dipping. I could only eat one. Wife got the salad which she said was good but not worth the price they were charging. We also got a pizza which was probably the best thing we ordered from the menu. I wanted to try the new French Onion soup but of course they were out of that new item. Atmosphere was pleasant and some nice decor but rather bright and loud inside. Lots of families and kids running around. We had one app we shared, one salad for the wife, one pizza that's basically a medium size and four drinks for a total of 80 plus dollars not including the tip which was closer to $100. Our server was very attentive and did a great job but by 6 pm was so slammed I couldn't get a chance to have her get me a coke for my dinner so I just ended up taking most of the pizza home. They definitely need extra servers. They're new and still getting things straightened out but too expensive for the quality of food that was served.
